So I heard today that on "The End" on the Doors self-titled album, the original releases were in mono, and it was very clear when Morrison says the imfamous "Mother I want to fuck you" line, but was intentionally skewed when it was converted to stereo. I checked my vinyl today and unfortunately it's stereo.:(
The first time I heard "Blowing in the Wind" I was hopelessly addicted to Bob Dylan.

How did Springsteen get that nickname anyway?
I listened to Desire for the first time yesterday, talk about undying love

I have the following uploaded:

Yes-Yessongs (Discs 1 and 2)
Yes- Tales from Topographic Oceans (Discs 1 and 2)
George Harrison- Concert for Bangladesh (Discs 1 and 2)

If any of you are interesed I'll send them out
and perchance any of you are interested in doing some uploading, I would love some ELO (I have none) and/or Moby Grape's s/t (Or anything by them)

Sorry I haven't been around so much lately

PinkFreud 01-20-2006 12:16 PM

All those albums are great, although Tales From The Topographic Oceans takes ages to grow on you (I still haven't completely 'gotten' it.) I got the Concert For Bangladesh DVD for Christmas from my Grandmom, and Yessongs completely owns.
I believe that was the 40 least metal moments.

I dont really agree with the Bruce dinkinson taking fencing thing.
They put something involving Bruce Dickinson on a least metal list. Further proof that VH1 is full of complete retards. Anyone else in here Maiden fans?

Me...

The other day I saw a Steve Miller Band cd that had the extended versions of all their greatest hits for only $1.98. I'm kicking myself for not buying it, I'll probably never see it again.

PinkFreud 01-20-2006 03:33 PM

a lot of us are. or a good number at least.

JonG 01-20-2006 03:49 PM

I have every Maiden album. I like there earlier stuff.

Steve Miller's best album is Sailor.

thickasabrick 01-20-2006 03:54 PM

Maiden is one of my favourite metal bands, I only have The Number of the Beast on vinyl though...I wish I had more albums of theirs.

I'm not sure what my favourite Steve Miller Band album is...I listen to his Greatest Hits a lot because that was the only album I had for about two years until I got some more of his, so I'm used to listening to it. And it's a killer album.

WelcomeToTheMachine 01-20-2006 04:04 PM

Anybody here like Johnny Winter, im suposed to go see him tommorow night, hes playing at Toads' Place, im pumped

Leper 01-20-2006 04:09 PM

Iron Maiden is hit or miss with me. Sometimes I hear them and I really dig them, and sometimes I just find them annoying.

Second Winter is a great album. My favorite of his. He and his brother(Edgar) are both albino :)

He has really long fingers too. He's good though.

thickasabrick 01-20-2006 04:12 PM

I have an Edger Winter Group album, but I'm not sure about a Johnny Winter one.

WelcomeToTheMachine 01-20-2006 04:37 PM

Edgar Winter group is awesome, i have yet to get anything by them, i plan on buying something though soon.

PinkFreud 01-20-2006 04:38 PM

he's a great guitarist but his voice grates my nerves. his new album is ok i guess but second winter is great.

Broken Arrow 01-20-2006 05:03 PM

I saw an article about that Heart of Gold movie in the paper today. It said it was showing at the Sundance Awards (indie film awards) in Toronto this weekened.

Pretty cool.

Lunch 01-20-2006 08:03 PM

Drop me your AIM and I can give you Grateful Dead: Live At Filmore West and Yes: Close to the Edge in excange for ELP's s/t and Surealistic Pillow (pretty sad that I don't own that one already.)

Lunch 01-20-2006 08:23 PM

lunch998 is the AIM.

Is it the Grateful Dead Fillmore West show they recently released as a three disc box set? Even if it's not, I still probably want it (unless it's Live/Dead, because I already own that album).

Yeah, its the three disc set, I just borrowed it from my freind (I'm actually just importanting it now.) I'll be on AIM when its done.

Lunch 01-20-2006 08:29 PM

Ok, cool. I'm uploading ELP's s/t on YSI right now so we can trade albums simultaneously.

JonG 01-20-2006 09:35 PM

Anybody want any albums from me?
