Did any download that Big Star, or Pulp I sent out?

magicbus 01-19-2006 10:18 AM

Gimme Shelter is sweet. You see that guy get stabbed.

Dragon_Prince 01-19-2006 10:29 AM
Indeed it was. Gillan can still sing flawlessly, and of course, Morse and Airey are just phenomenal musicians.

Good to hear, I'm seeing them next week :)

Can he really? On their newest album he sounds pretty flat, except on a few tracks. Thats great it he still can sing live. I just remembered I put him up as my avatar.

Yea, I didn't notice anything that you normally hear with aging vocalists.

I didn't download the Big Star or Pulp yet, but I intend to.

I really hope Deep Purple tour North America after they headline Monsters of Rock, right now they've got a bunch on dates in Europe.

This has been a pretty interesting week. Saturday night, we had a big storm here and I lost power until Sunday night. No heat or anything. Then Wednesday morning, my house lost power right after I left for school. Then our school power went off but they wouldn't let us leave because their were fallen wires and trees all over the road. I got my mom to sign me out though, so I was out of there by 11:00. Then today we didn't have school either because the power was still out and it just came back on. I'm enjoying the miracles of heat right now for the first time in a while.

I also bought Jefferson Airplane- Surrealistic Pillow today.

I'm working on buying a copy of albums I love that I only have on mp3. I still have a lot I need to buy.

Broken Arrow 01-19-2006 04:25 PM

Yeah, thats a something I'm doing right now too.

JonG 01-19-2006 04:49 PM

Haha, I'm in love with this song. It's Jimmy Thackery - Cool Guitars. The lyrics are awesome.

JonG 01-19-2006 06:02 PM

Didn't they kill some guy?

I remember a Who concert that was when you could go in once the band was ready and on stage. The fans were mad and trampled over some people :x

What a bad way to go out.

I saw that on tv, it was something like "100 most famous moments in rock n' roll".

MidnightRider 01-19-2006 06:16 PM

I can think of many ways to die that'd be much worse than getting trampled at a Who concert.

Hehe, with that hair, in that photo, Gilmour kinda looks like a modern day Axl Rose :p

Is that from the bootleg where Roger flips about the fire works.

I hate some of VH1's lists. A few are interseting, but, come one, 40 least metal moments? VH1! You are the least metal moment.

Yep, I love it.

And he certainly doesn't look like Axl.

Yeah that bootleg is amazing the Wish You Were Here tracks on that album is some of Pink Floyd's best work and FAR better than the studio IMO.

JonG 01-19-2006 06:34 PM

EMH with the Yankee Hotel Foxtrot.

w00t

Wilson Pickett died :(

You all know him for the hit Mustang Sally.

Well unfortunately all I have is a clip with Pigs and the intro to SOYCD. It really drives me crazy, it gets right to the end of the build up and cuts off.

40 Least metal moments? Weak! What were some of the examples of "least metal moments?"
EMH with the Yankee Hotel Foxtrot.
Yeah, I've been listening to it lately.

np: Dead Kennedys - Hyperactive Child

robo2448 01-19-2006 06:44 PM

I have that performance of Pigs. It's amazing. The solo at the end is incredible. That's all I have though.

My mom just told me that Wilson Pickett died:( . Somebody should upload some of his stuff in honor. Because I only have one song of his on my computer and want more.

I really like Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. It really grew on me, I didn't like it at all the first time I heard it.

How many of you are going to see this? In theaters!! It's not a DVD release. :)
40 Least metal moments? Weak! What were some of the examples of "least metal moments?"
The number one least metal moment was Vince Neil doing the chicken dance. Another least metal moment was when Metallica cut their hair.
