I'm not a huge fan anymore. I used to be. Now i'm a casual fan.
Same, I used to really like them know Im just casual, I do own all the Scott era albums(which are the best) |
Thanks man. I'll see if my dad has that one.
That'd be extremely unlikely. |
hey, has anyone else heard the yeller (yellow) dog story?
|
no, what is it??
|
no, please tell
|
it's just a story (with background music) that the dead told at one (maybe more) of their concerts to stall for time when they broke a string.
|
I heard some song/story about a guy who litters and gets arrested, and his crazyness and all. It sounded like garcia's voice, maybe that ws it.
|
How the **** can you hate his voice? He is the Frank Sinatra of metal. (The only one that actually sings)
Danzig has a great voice, but the music is not too great. |
We've never mentioned Bruce Springsteen . Am I the only Springsteen fan here?
|
I don't really listen to much of his stuff :upset:
I hear good things about it though. |

nope, this story has everything to do with a yellow dog and nothing to do with a littering man who gets arrested. |
k then
|
k then
It's very possible that it's only on the album I have with it (Europe 72) |
I knew both of those! They called him that cause he was the expert of slowhand guitar! That feels good! :thumb:
EDIT because don't want a triple post: I like blues rock and prog rock the best. Also I'm in the chatroom.
That's weird? What do you mean with 'slowhand guitar'? The story I know about the 'slowhand' name comes from when early on in his career as a proffesional guitarist, he used to break guitar strings because he bent the strings too hard. So, while he was changing the strings, the audience used to do a "slow hand-clap." Or at least that's what it says in this biography. And before I go, a random rock fact. During the 24 months (2 years) life-span of Cream, people bought more of their albums than the Bible in the last 24 years. Impressive. |
well to be fair you can just steal a bible from church also it cant be a very riviting read!
are there actually all that many proper rock bands left? |
Yes there are tons.
|
Yes there are tons.

That's weird? What do you mean with 'slowhand guitar'?
I'm talking about how he didn't do supreme wankage, and didn't need to be as fast as possible to get people to like his music, like blues. He played slow and still was amazing. This is from a Cream dvd I bought. |
oh well bugger me with a stick!
i havn't noticed any...well AC/DC and a few tohers but thats it
Well if you only like certain bands, thats one thing. There are many, many bands in all genres making great music right now. |
All you guys that like jam bands, I demand that you download this song:
The Stone Roses - Daybreak |
are there actually all that many proper rock bands left?
Would you not call Queens Of The Stone Age or Foo Fighters rock bands? If they aren't then I guess 'rock' isn't 'rock' anymore. |
All you guys that like jam bands, I demand that you download this song:
The Stone Roses - Daybreak
Stone Roses were excellent and Ian Brown's solo stuff is prety neat also. *starts singing* Forget everything and remember.... |

Would this DVD be, by any chance, Strange Brew? |
Would you not call Queens Of The Stone Age or Foo Fighters rock bands? If they aren't then I guess 'rock' isn't 'rock' anymore.
Queens are one of the best around, Foo Fighters blow. |
Stone Roses were excellent and Ian Brown's solo stuff is prety neat also. *starts singing* Forget everything and remember....
I've never heard Ian's solo stuff. I never meet anyone who likes the Stone Roses. Most people never even heard of them. |
I've never heard of the Stone Roses. Who do they sound like??
Or do they have an original sound?? |
yeah i love classic rock - some of the stuff i like:
The Beatles AC/DC Van Halen Deep Purple Thin Lizzy Black Sabbath Motley Crue Judas Priest etc.... |
Sweet man, your the best :thumb:
I dont think Priest and Motley Crue count as classic rock |
They were an early 90's brit rock band. They pretty much inspired Oasis (well, Liam decided he wanted to be a singer after hearing them). They also did a great job of combining some electronic sounds as well. Their styles vary widely...
If I had to recommend a couple songs off the top of my head, I'd say Daybreak and Driving South. The guitar work is excellent. Their bass player, Mani Moufield (one of my favs), went to play with Primal Scream after the stone roses broke up. He's a killer player too. |
I will check them out thanks^
|
Does anyone here like the Rolling Stones??
|
So many good bands go so unnoticed.
|
Does anyone here like the Rolling Stones??
