i want that soo bad
I bought it from amazon like 2 years ago. It's called Cthulhu Mythos or something. It has "The Shadow over Innsmouth" which is my fav. lovecraft story. Also has stories by other authors related to cthulhu, didn't read all of them tbh. There's also another book like best of lovecraft that also has Call of Cthulhu.
gtfo and read Breakfast of Champions and The Sirens of Titan fag
Lol, I think it's time to graduate and read Proust, Faulkner, Mann, Marlowe, Camus, Sartre, Burroughs, Kunt, Celine, Miller, Joyce, Tolstoy, Steinbeck, Orwell, Amis, and Crane before you push books on me.

And I shouldn't have said Vonnegut is weak as that would be ignorant but all those authors listed offer much more than Vonnegut.

So stfu and read something your prof didn't recommend to your class.

Tyler 04-01-2009 05:57 PM

Kunt

HighandDriving 04-01-2009 06:01 PM

Funny..... and his last name is actually Hamsun, opps.

Tyler 04-01-2009 06:02 PM

Anyways, stop being such a condescending dickwad. Vonnegut is fine. And I mean how can you say "So stfu and read something your prof didn't recommend to your class" and then suggest someone as obvious as Orwell. If you're going to try so hard, you could at least put in a little more effort.

HighandDriving 04-01-2009 06:07 PM

I thought I did, and yes Vonnegut is fine, I'm just listing off better authors.

Care to expand/subtract from the list, or continue to offer very little to the discussion.

Yes Orwell is obvious, how about the rest?

Tyler 04-01-2009 06:11 PM

They're fine but there's no reason to be pretentious about them somehow being better than Vonnegut, they're all great authors and just because Vonnegut may be easier to read doesn't make him a level below. Suggesting that someone "graduates" into what is primarily regarded as "academic" literature is kind of unnecessary.

Oh and on the topic of Orwell, 1984 is not a good book.

hismajestythepope 04-01-2009 06:13 PM

1984 is pretty intense tbh. It's just very drawn out.

Also, Vonnegut was ****ing elite. If you don't think he's a good author, you don't have a shred of wit in your head.

I was just stooping to his level, I think it was pretty called for, I read a fair amount and being told to read Vonnegut to better myself is a piss off.

And implying that I'm giving those listed authors more merit based on them being harder to read, which I guess they're, is incorrect.

Also 1984 is a good book but he is probably my least fav author from my list.

Txus 04-01-2009 06:36 PM

You named two of my favorite authors, thank you very much but I already read most of them, and know all of them.

HighandDriving 04-01-2009 06:40 PM

Which are your two fav authors?

Si1v3RfaNg 04-01-2009 06:42 PM

I need to read more often, I just don't got the time anymore, so I honestly couldn't tell you a good writer besides Tolkien.

So in short, you honestly couldn't tell us (of) a good writer.

masscows 04-01-2009 06:49 PM
