IAJP 01-23-2005 02:21 PM

Same here,
I'm crossing my fingers for a definite U.K tour.

Josh 01-23-2005 02:23 PM

yeh, a proper UK tour would be great, then i wouldnt have to travel to a festival. and it would be cheaper.

supreme maidenite 01-23-2005 02:27 PM

same hope they come to homeland uk

Yer i think it was ashman that said that, could be wrong, but I also can't be bothered to check.

IAJP 01-23-2005 02:50 PM

Does anyone like Holy Smoke?
That's probbably one of Steve Harris' most tounge in cheek lyrics, I think.

Josh 01-23-2005 02:56 PM

its one of my favourite songs. i have it as my ringtone.

supreme maidenite 01-23-2005 02:57 PM

i like holy smoke

supreme maidenite 01-23-2005 02:58 PM

i like the lyrics alot in holysmoke aswell

Stevie 01-23-2005 02:59 PM

We just got to keep a lookout, there could be UK tour dates announced soon.

IAJP 01-23-2005 03:00 PM

Amazing, amazing.
My ringtone is the little harmonized solo part from "2 Minutes To Midnight"

rik 01-23-2005 03:01 PM

Sure, I love Holy smoke, but in my opinion something better could've taken its place on the Edward the great cd.

Aces High or Rime Of The Ancient Mariner, for example.
I'm not a huge fan of that Greatest Hits, a double disc set would have suited Maiden better methinks..

rik 01-23-2005 03:13 PM
Aces High or Rime Of The Ancient Mariner, for example.
Yer, exactly the songs I was thinking along with POTO.

Yeah. Every Maiden album has some amazing songs that wouldn't be put on a greatest hits of theirs ever though.

Hmm..
Off the first album, the song I would choose to represent Maiden at their best would probbably be: Phantom Of The Opera or Prowler.
It's hard to choose because the Di'Anno era Maiden are so much different to the Dickinson and Bailey era Maiden.
Just as a silly side note, which Maiden Guitarist do you think is the coolest?
For me, It has to be: Adrian Smith.
MAN does he rule

I was gonna see them in paris, but the plans sort of fell through...you know how things are. The Bastards at the SLC decided not to give me my full uni loan ('cos they screwed up), my mum wants back dated rent and the person I was supposed to be going to Paris with hasn't spoked to me for a while...so :upset:

Has anyone heard the B-side Mission from 'Arry? It's supposed to be Steve and Nicko having an argument after Nicko punched a Roadie and Bruce recorded it without them knowing

ashman 01-23-2005 04:05 PM

Coolest Guitarist would easily be Davey, I mean he is always smiling...he is like the Fonz, but happier :thumb:

IAJP 01-23-2005 04:05 PM

I'll have to download that, it sounds classic

Dave has a brilliantly babyish face.
But look at Adrian Smith!
He's so cool, if he was my dad...MAN

ashman 01-23-2005 04:08 PM

I actually change my mind, Adrian is the coolest; he did have a mullet in 1988... :)

IAJP 01-23-2005 04:15 PM

The picture in the DOD booklet is the epitomy of cool.

Hehe, Dave would fit right in on the folk scene. I bet he has Tony Rose's entire back catalogue.

Everytime he goes into a solo he always has a look on his face which says "I didn't know my fingers could do that!" (and I have one which says "I wish my fingers could do that")

thelittledrummerboy 01-23-2005 11:12 PM

There all good in there own way i think-
Dave for his smile
Janick for his energy &
Adrian for his style and amazing stage presence

Last Ditch Effort 01-23-2005 11:23 PM
I don't think that song has one, it just ends with Paul screaming "Torture me back at ya lair!"
Actually the Enhanced CD that I own just ends...but originally it does end with that wicked line...i don't understand why they would take it out.

He says it once to close out with the music, then there's a pause, and then he says it again without any other instruments.

That second time is heard on every copy of the song I've ever gotten off the Internet, but on the actual album it's missing!

Lord Abortion 01-24-2005 03:16 AM

bloody hell I missed alot...
four pages in two days!
anyhoo...
paul is too fat to win in a fight and bruce is to small
I have the feeling that blaze might win as he is pretty muscular...
