they looked like the same thing to me

I only scrolled far enough into the post to access their profile and ignore them though

so sup with you?

smash any guitars lately?
haha nah, im thinking of smashing amp though. just not very happy with the tone im getting out of it.

thinking of selling it for a variax. i always felt that the pod was so digital, but im messing with the run like hell setting on it, straight to PA.

and im thinking wow, how much cooler wil lthis sound with the variax.
but i gotta get my pod fixed.

think i could just buy another one, swap it with my pod, and then return it. haha.

Nick 06-30-2006 08:05 PM

goddamn they made new accounts to post goatse on

idk about PODs

my cousin has one and it sounds amazing, but it doesn't sound alive, if you know what I mean. It sounds like a recording, it just doesn't have that here and now intensity

I had an awesome idea today though

rip a bill in half and try to pass it off as two damaged bills

doesnt work that way fyi

you need like 3/4+ to get it replaced

Nick 06-30-2006 08:23 PM

r u srs

that sucks

I was so sure it would work, too

j_p 06-30-2006 08:25 PM

Man it was awsome. I just snuck into a tragically hip concert and it was unreal.
The dude who looks like jesus is a pretty wicked guitarist. It was so awsome how we snuck in, well I was loaded so at first we tried to knock down this fence but security started chasing us so that was a no go. Then we got on the harbour and jumped from the dock onto a bunch of rocks on the shore. We then climbed up and found ourselves backstage. I saw there setups and there was about 10 cases of beer so naturally i went for one. This big black dude stops me and tells me to get the **** back into the crowd:D.

Nick 06-30-2006 08:33 PM

that's awesome

I seen them twice, both at bluesfest (which I don't get to go to this year :()

"the dude that looks like jesus" is EXACTLY how I think of him actually

also my mother's cousin owns a guitar repair/luthiery/vintage restoration shop in kingston and he built them their guitars

j_p 06-30-2006 08:35 PM

Yea he had a wicked tone man. The other guy used a wah pedal with a huuuuge sweep on it for an intro to one song. It was a pretty pwn show.

wtvr 06-30-2006 08:48 PM
yeah. basically.

im always so frustrated with the sound i get out of my guitar. i dunno if its just my amp, my guitar, or just me.
and i played bass at the local shop cause thy have a left handed bass in, and i thought it was great.
yeah.

Also I find my style to be rather suited to bass, more groove-y than melodic. However guitar will always be my #1

Nick 06-30-2006 08:53 PM

tbh I really love going into guitar stores, cranking an amp, and hitting the big E5 powerchord and whammying like crazy

all the noise

it's just glorious

I_go_by_mikee 06-30-2006 08:58 PM

haha, i love bass, i think im going to be doing both, cause i pretty much have a sorted out plan for it all.

how'd you get yourself banned again?

Nick 06-30-2006 09:12 PM

Actually both my accounts are unbanned

I just like this one better

I'm going to try to get them merged into this one

but the thread warns to expect rejection if you created the accounts due to banning

so I figure I'll wait a bit

but in the meantime I'll use this one

infernalhaze66 06-30-2006 09:16 PM

So I have $140 to spend, maybe a bit more. What should I buy?

Soul_Under_Arrest 06-30-2006 09:17 PM

What do you have?

haha, yeah, i'd probably change the "aes banned me" thing too if you want those merged.

i laughed out loud when i saw this one guys avatar. i can't rmember who it was, but it was a Ban deoderant stick dancing, and in the user title it said "is that aes in my avatar"

t'was funny

Amp'd 06-30-2006 09:22 PM

Holla Thread?

Anybody a Modest Mouse fan?

a really fancy hooker or two

hehe modest mussorksy (or something like that) was a russian composer and i could never read his name without laughing

infernalhaze66 06-30-2006 09:23 PM

Im too cool for hookers. Im really looking for any cool accessories, or effects pedals. I have nice cables though, and Im happy with my pickups in my guitars. Perhaps a sonic maximizer?

Nick 06-30-2006 09:27 PM

is that enough to get a sustainer installed? prolly not eh

anything about your tone you want to change, or enhace? if not, i'd go for a fancy delay or something if you dont alredy have one

infernalhaze66 06-30-2006 09:30 PM

The fact that Im using an MG...
Im torn between a 5150, a DSL, or single rectifier. No matter what it will be paired with a cabinet with v30s. Any suggestions?
As for now, I do have a delay, DD3 which does really what I need it to do. Any good instructional books or DVDs? Preferrebly classical or Jazz. Music theory books, anything really.

Cab wise I'ld check out either the Marshall 1960 line and put some V30s in it or a Mesa Rectifier Standard.

7 skrang 06-30-2006 09:33 PM

holy crap. sonic maximizers go for like 40 bucks used on ebay...

infernalhaze66 06-30-2006 09:34 PM

Probably go for the Marshall, mostly because I can get one through my job w/ v30s in it for around $400. The mesa I would like, its just quite expensive.

Nick 06-30-2006 09:35 PM

put it into the "infernalhaze66 needs a new amp badly" fund

infernalhaze66 06-30-2006 09:35 PM
holy crap. sonic maximizers go for like 40 bucks used on ebay...
I saw that, Id like to get one, I just dont have a rack case atm. I hear they sound like crap with some amps. I think Ill just get the stompbox once i get the new amp.

mnemonic 06-30-2006 09:42 PM
is that enough to get a sustainer installed? prolly not eh
so what does a sustainer do? just sustain the note longer, or is there more to it htan that?

infernalhaze66 06-30-2006 09:46 PM

Just found a Sonic Maximizer 362 locally for $30, good deal correct? Would this be good to use with guitar?

Amp'd 06-30-2006 09:46 PM

A sustainer pickup actually drives the string so you can hold a note forever.
