Vinyl pictures are uploading now, I'm yet to figure out how to resize them so it could take awhile to get them into my Photobucket (they're 1mb each)

Edit: woo, here are some of them.

The format of linkage will be

Front
Inside
Front + Back

Didnt sabbath get pissed off about the inverted cross or something?

Brew 10-22-2005 03:25 PM

It wasn't their idea to use it, I think it annoyed them for quite some time.

Those are awesome Brum :thumb:.

GenuineImitation 10-22-2005 03:31 PM

Where did you get all those vinyl's?

Brew 10-22-2005 03:34 PM

They were my Dad's, he gave them to me a few years ago.

I've got alot of Sabbath vinyl...

That is alot of Sabbath vinyl...lucky bastard.

rippa32 10-22-2005 06:36 PM

Hey great pics brum, thanks for those. The inside pic from We Sold Our Souls For Rock 'n' Roll, was quite disturbing, even for Black Sabbath.

And why should they be pissed off about the inverted cross? Iommi has admitted himself they were into all that black magic stuff back then.

Brew 10-23-2005 02:10 PM

It got them alot of bad press, which in the long run worked out for the best for them.

I was listening to some samples of Bill Wards solo work, the streams were pretty poor quality but I may look into buying one of his albums soon.

rippa32 10-24-2005 10:19 PM

Could you give us a band it sounds similair to? Does it sound like Black Sabbath?

Brew 10-25-2005 02:00 AM

Hmm.

Each album is different, I can't think of a similarity at the moment so I'll link you to where I heard the samples...

NP - Tony Martin - India

rippa32 10-25-2005 02:55 AM

Is that from his new Scream album? (reffering to India). Got any more pics of Sabbath vinyl's brum? And what do you think about that gatefold pic for We Sold Our Souls?

Does anybody know if Iommi continued to tune his guitar down for the Dio years?(Excluding Dehuminizer)

Brew 10-25-2005 03:07 AM

I think the Heaven and Hell album was in Iommi standard.

India is from Scream, I think. It might be from one of his earlier albums, I can't remember what his website said.

The We Sold Our Soul..gatefold picture is...odd. Its good though, I like the Sabbath Bloody Sabbath gatefold the best.

I've not got any other Sabbath gatefolds, but I did upload these yesterday...

rippa32 10-25-2005 05:43 PM

Yeah, my guitar teacher lent me Sabbath Bloody Sabbath on vinyl. The gatefold pic is indeed a good one. Hehe, I showed my mum and she couldnt tell which one ozzy was. :thumb:

EDIT: Hey Pink Floyd's great. How much was The Wall on vinyl?

Brew 10-26-2005 07:49 AM

I have no idea, my Dad gave it to me.

I'm guessing it could be worth quite alot these days...you should be able to pick up a 2nd hand copy reasonably cheaply though.

He said they dabbled (sp?) in it, they didnt go running around with inverted crosses and burning churches (unlike emporer)

the inside of we sold our souls, kind of looked like a pregnant maralin manson to me

rippa32 10-27-2005 04:56 AM

Yes me and my friend both agreed it looked like Manson. It could be were he got the inspiration for looking like a freak.

Brew 10-27-2005 05:05 AM

Manson got his inspiration from a whole load of musicians from the 70's and 80's, mainly Alice Cooper.

I was thinking the other day, how cool it would be if Black Sabbath held a super-show, where each classic line-up re-forms for a short set of 8 songs each, then a huge sing along at the end for Paranoid.

By classic line-up I mean:

MkI Ozzy Years (1969 - 1978)
MkII Dio Years (1979 - 1982)
MkIII Gillan Years (1983 - 1984)
MkIV Tony Martin Years (1985 - 1990)
MkV Dio Years (Dehumanizer-era 1991 - 1992)
MkVI Tony Martin Years (1993 - 1996)

I was thinking maybe we could have a little fantasy game, where we take each line-up, pick their 8 song setlist, and post them in here.

For Example, the layout would be:

MkI Line-Up

*insert songs here*

MkII Line-Up

*insert songs here*

etc...

I'll have my setlists up in a bit, I need to think of them first.

rippa32 10-27-2005 05:23 AM

Why the second Ozzy era? There was only two songs written. Good idea though.

Brew 10-27-2005 05:34 AM

Ahh, good point.

*edits out of list*

rippa32 10-27-2005 05:39 AM

Ill do the Born Again list.

1. Trashed
2. Stonehenge
3. Disturbing The Priest
4. The Dark
5. Zero The Hero
6. Digital Bitch
7. Born Again
8. Hot Line

Actually for this one they would probably do nine to fulfill the whole album.

rippa32 10-27-2005 04:57 PM

Jesus 50 cents? Did you tell him what it was worth after buying it?

My dad also has alot of vinyl records mainly Beatles but they wouldnt be worth all that much 'cause there not in the greatest condition.

Yeah right. I don't think he'd care anyway.

My dad doesn't own any vinyls, which sucks.

rippa32 10-27-2005 10:00 PM

Really? Did he sell em all?

blue3 10-27-2005 10:22 PM

No, my dad just wasn't in the 'vinyl times' or whatever. He has a lot of tapes though, which isn't really a good thing.

rippa32 10-28-2005 04:36 AM

No it isn't. Tapes really are crap, CD's made them obsolete but not Vinyl Records imo.

Brew 10-28-2005 05:46 AM

My Dad has hundreds of tapes, 90% of them have no labels on them.

I found some Beatles vinyl in pretty good condition not so long ago - Abbey Road, The White Album and another one I've forgotten the name of.

Edit: Now that I'm thinking about it, I'll post my setlists for the Sabbath Super Show. These will probably be edited alot during the day.

MkI - Ozzy Years.

Intro tape - Supertzar
1. Hole in the Sky/Don't Start (too late)
2. Sabbra Cadabra
3. Children of the Grave/Drum Solo
4. War Pigs (for sing-along++)
5. Black Sabbath/Guitar Solo
6. Wicked World
7. Megalomania
8. Never Say Die!

MkII - Dio Years

1. Neon Knights
2. Die Young
3. Children of the Sea
4. The Sign of the Southern Cross/Heaven and Hell/Guitar Solo medley
5. Mob Rules/Heaven and Hell ending

*rest to come later*
