just made an adicts shirt, and it is PERFECT. there is absolutely NO underspray and its my greatest diy achievement.

very nice :D

what did you use for it?

DaveToopes 03-31-2006 06:12 PM

That Adicts shirt does look good. I like the choice of red paint instead of black.

Danger Bird 03-31-2006 06:16 PM

When stenciling, is it better to leave the stencil on until the paint dries to avoid smudging, or take it off so the paint doesn't soak through? I'm using posterboard by the way.

POINTLESS5448 03-31-2006 06:23 PM

i leave it on until it dries. and i was going to make it black with red background but the red was so perfect i decided not to **** with it.

Danger Bird 03-31-2006 06:32 PM

Yeah, that Adicts shirt looks really great. What kind of paint is that?

By the way, I did a sprayed my Marley stencil onto some posterboard, then cut it out, then used the posterboard stencil to spray it onto an actual shirt. I'll post pics when my mom gets home.

POINTLESS5448 03-31-2006 06:45 PM

i jsut used spray paint.

Liebensaft 03-31-2006 06:56 PM

The school was asking people for Battle of the Bands T-shirt designs in one week, and I was like:"Dudes, asdf couldn't even do that **** in a week."

Good story, I know.

Teeb 03-31-2006 10:33 PM

I want to make a t-shirt with this picture on it http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/7b/Cheministro.png

Ghostfire3 03-31-2006 10:46 PM

Who is that?

Teeb 03-31-2006 10:57 PM

Ernesto Guevara. On the back, I'd put his quote about "capitalistic octupuses."

Danger Bird 04-01-2006 12:53 PM

For some reason the top milimeter broke off my X-Acto blade, thereby somehow completely fucking it up.

I made that exact shirt, except white paint on a black shirt.

You mean Che.

DaveToopes 04-01-2006 10:37 PM

His real name is Ernesto.

While we're on the subject, everyone should watch the Motorcycle Diaries, it's a great movie.

Teeb 04-01-2006 10:45 PM
You mean Che.
"Che" is the Argentine equivalent to "pal" or "mate" or "dude."

Sorry if you already knew that.

Does spray paint wash off clothes or wear off? Cause i would like to use spray paint instead of fabric paint. thx

Danger Bird 04-02-2006 12:28 PM

I might wear a little, but it stays pretty well in my experience. My only advice would be to wash your shirt seperately from others, so that the paint doesn't bleed onto your other garments. Good luck!

incubass 04-02-2006 12:30 PM

Thanks man im gonna try it out.

Ghostfire3 04-02-2006 12:32 PM

It should stay on there. But when you do it, make sure you're spraying from a pretty good distance or else it will bleed and look bad. I made that mistake the first time I used spray paint.

That movie put me to sleep.

Danger Bird 04-02-2006 12:34 PM

Actually, me too. But I was pretty sleepy at the time.

I usually print it onto thick paper and cut it out from that. Transparency paper works well too.
