I like Who Are You
its drumming is definitally supurb if you compare it with the rest of the album  |
The Allman Brothers Instant Live from when I saw them just came in the mail :D I'm pumped!
|
I'd recommend, Who's Next. Baba O' Riley, Geting In Tune and Won't Get fooled Again are superb. After that get the tommy/quadrophenia dvd ;) or get that first ;) 3dvd's is a good start hea ;)

Maybe, we'll see. |
Thanks for all the Who suggestions, next time I go out I'll try to pick up one of the CDs (probably Live at Leeds since I've always heard they're better live)
|
Let's see:
Spirit = awesome. I have their S/t, The Family that Plays Together, Clear, and 12 Dreams. 12 Dreams in one of my favorite albums. When I Touch You is stunning. I'm gonna take some credit for whoring them out to people here.
You're gonna upload The Family That Plays Together, right? |
Ok, I'm (attempting to) upload the Instant Live and a couple other things. I got the first disc uploaded, but the others are taking forever.

I've sent that out at least two different times, I thought.
I'd recommend, Who's Next. Baba O' Riley, Geting In Tune and Won't Get fooled Again are superb. I think the T and Q DVD is good but it definitely isn't the same as their prime material. Any first DVD recommendation for the Who has to be the Kids Are Alright. |

Excellent choice, though you can't go wrong with Who's Next. If you like either of those, then definitly look into Quadriphinia. |

Yea, you definitely can. Who's Next has a couple gems drowned in a sea of mediocrity. |

I agree here, I think it's overrated. Although the peaks on Who's Next are among the highest the Who ever reached. |

I'm probably goin' CD shopping tonight. Hopefully I can find some good stuff.
Last time I found NRPS s/t and Aoxomoxoa for 8 bucks each. Plus I got some Best Buy gift cards. |
^Double post, spamho
*new avatar* Lately, I've been listening to Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra's Liberation Afrobeat, Vol. 1. Great album. |
The page froze.
/deleted I'm downloading Dick's Picks 12 right now. The set-list is pretty good. I'm probably going to want that if it's good. Just heads up. As always, I'll offer consolation if you send it out.
Does anyone want ELP - Tarkus (album) or Brain Salad Surgery? I uploaded it for my thread so let me know your email address if you're interested. |
I've been listening to some Saga recently.
Anyone else like Saga? |
I've sent that out at least two different times, I thought.
Yeah I got it from you. I like it more than s/t but not as 12 Dreams. Besides When I Touch You, I Got A Line On You might be my favorite Spirit song. I'd say Who's Next is probably the easiest album to get into, and best for Who n00bs, even if it's not my favorite album by them. I need to get some Dick's Picks Never heard of Saga. |
I want to get Dick's Picks Vol. 18. My dad was at that show :x
|
Never heard of Saga.
They're another one of those crazy Canadian 70s prog bands. |
I want to get Dick's Picks Vol. 18. My dad was at that show :x
There are a couple used DP at a local record store, in addition to a used copy of Hundred Year Hall (which is supposed to be great) so I'm probably going to try to pick those up. |
I just learned that Eric Burdon and the Animals (no idea who's in the band now) are playing at BB King's Blues Club and Grill, for just 27 bucks. Has anyone seen them? I might try to go. BB King's Blues Club and Grill always has awesome performers but tickets are usually expensive so I've never been there. BB King himself is playing there soon, but tickets are $85. But I might go see Eric Burdon just because they're really cheap.
|
I hear Eric still has the power but on any given night could suck. Who is filling in on bass for them? Since Chandler died long ago.
Hey Liverwired you like Masters of Reality? I just got this really good live album of theirs, and wanted to know your thoughts about them. Fun fact Ginger Baker was part of this band for its reformation. |
I agree here, I think it's overrated. Although the peaks on Who's Next are among the highest the Who ever reached.
Meh, I love it to pieces myself. I'd say its the best for a new comer because its easily the most accessible of The Who's records, although Quad. may have a bigger overall payoff. Won't Get Fooled Again may be my favorite song ever... Eric Burdon is playing? A shame that he's in New York, though. |
Eric Burdon is coming to Pittsburgh, but I'm not going. I don't thik I'll be going to another concert until the summer.
I really wish YSI would stop being such a bitch... |
I've sent that out at least two different times, I thought.
Well, then you obviously don't have my e-mail address. hungryfreak843@yahoo.com |
I think Eric Burdon might have came to my city, but I think he played at the Casino...and I'm not old enough to get in. All the best bands go to the Casino. It's sad.
