Hi thread

Practice tonight didn't go so well >=[ the bassist is away, which I don't mind at all, we all know each other well enough and are tight enough now that we can play without a member mostly, but instead the old bassist filled in (the guy who was in the band when we started in college, but we depended on him for a place to practice, and he's a lazy fu[size=2]cking[/size] stoner bitch, which I don't mind either really. We're on our feet now) and kind've put us off. He managed to find a bass tone that was crisp and all, but still somehow drowned out everything, even the drums, without being very loud :confused:

So we didn't get anything done, and we've a gig coming up real soon. I'm concerned we're getting into the situation we got into before the last gig, where we had two weeks to go before the gig and we're not ready. We pulled out of the last one in the end, and I'd be fu[size=2]cking[/size] gutted if we had to pull out of this one too. So we're arranging 3 practices a week for the next fortnight. I can get to two a week for definite with a lot of effort, and the third if I can get a lift. Plus we're meeting on thursday to record some stuff. So we can probably do it :fingerscrossed:

Might be a week or so yet; we're recording this thursday but we wont be doing vocals yet.

And don't be put off if you don't like a song I post - we've yet to get into a typical writing style. As in, everybody's kick started one song or other, and we've all got different music tastes so as a result everything so far has different stylistic leanings, be they influenced by Mastodon, Pantera, Primus, Metallica, At The Gates... We started a new one yesterday which is well good; total Exodus rip off though :P

In other news, my band did some recording earlier today :cool: Got my guitar and the drums down, came out the other side really well, I think the other guitar and the bass are getting done tomorrow, then vocals as soon as. Should have a complete recording to flaunt around by next week I hope.
