Show me. I got books here that talk about it. Some they do, most they don't.
Herpe's, one of the most previlent STI's, is transfer via body fluid on skin. Condoms don't prevent that at all...
www.niaid.nih.gov/dmid/stds/condomreport.pdf I think that might have the information, but I actually don't know, my acrobat reader is corrupted. |

Nah, it was pretty much my fault, but I dont remember the day of the accident let alone the accident, so we cant be sure. |

I think that might have the information, but I actually don't know, my acrobat reader is corrupted.
IT does actually. And it says almost exactly what I said. It's the best method of reducing the risk of HIV. And well, they pretyt much said theres no evidence for hte rest. Here, I cut and pasted - "Conclusions on STDs Transmitted by Genital Secretions The published data documenting effectiveness of the male condom were strongest for HIV. The Panel concluded that, based on a meta-analysis of published studies “always” users of the male condom significantly reduced the risk of HIV infection in men and women. These data provided strong evidence for the effectiveness of condoms in preventing HIV transmission in both men and women who engage in vaginal intercourse. The Panel also concluded that the consistency of findings across four epidemiological studies of gonorrhea indicated that the latex male condom could reduce the risk of gonorrhea for men. The strongest evidence for potential effectiveness of condoms on other STDs transmitted by genital secretions (i.e. gonorrhea in women, chlamydial infection and trichomoniasis) was the laboratory-based studies on the properties of the male latex condom and the strength of the evidence for condom use reducing the risk of HIV transmission in men and women and gonorrhea in men. The Panel concluded, however, that because of limitations in study designs there was insufficient evidence from the epidemiological studies on these diseases to draw definite conclusions about the effectiveness of the latex male condom in reducing the transmission of these diseases." They can't even say condoms have any effectiveness in lab studies against stuff other then HIV. Let alone real life. |
why are we talking about STD's???
WTF? |
It's an important issue to talk about, esspeccially for the age range here.
|
Condoms dont prevent STIs, its a fact, HIV/AIDS are so small, they can fit through the rubber of the condom. We learnt about it on sex day, which was strange to say the least.....
|
God I'm glad I don't work at Sbarro's any more. I called there asking for the manager's home phone number so I could use her as a reference (she absolutely adored me), and the idiot that I always got stuck working with says "yeah, I'll be right back". I wait 5 minutes on the phone (no exaggeration), then hang up because she's not coming back. I wait another 5 minutes, call again, and the phone's still busy. Wow.
So I went and made lunch, called back again, and she still didn't have the number. I got her to give the phone to someone else and I had the number in 3 seconds. |

That's completelly untrue. Read the study that was JUST posted. In fact, I cut and pasted from it. |
The condoms in the UK have this weird cross weave kinda pattern thingy. The virus is so small it can fit through the 'weaving' like pattern. Thats what we were told anyway, it wasnt exactly how I said it but it had the same point.
|
my guess would be theyre trying to scare you into not having sex

Water can't even fit through them, and I'm sure water molecules are much smaller than HIV viruses. |
Im listening to the My Chemical Romance album, its quite good yah know.
EDIT - The new one |

If that were true, then sperm could get through them as well. Thus making the condom totally useless. Most schools 'Sex ed' is VERY VERY far off from reality. Check out the study published and linked to a few posts up. |
Heh, I go to a Catholic school.
|
It's scare tactics, as is school drug "education"
|
Oh then it's wonderful for you!
|
Yeah, we did about STDs with graphic pictures. Not good, but it didnt put me off lol
|
I got out my favorite book. Some of you may have heard of it, it's called Stick Control

Ergh.
Our World History class had our first section on the History of Islam today, and so we were discussing what Islam is like today.. I learned nothing Factual. Except that we have a lot of Ignorant people in that class... How is someone who is Not a Muslim ( Me ) supposed to answer all the questions our Teacher asks about Islam. Because I'm 1/2 Arab, doesn't make me know everything about the Arab world, and related topics. I don't expect the Americans in my class to know **** about their country. |
Yeah, I know right. We're learning about ancient Islamic/Persian texts, so I'm answering some questions like a normal student, and a bunch of the people in the room are like "it's not fair, he knows it already." I'm indian (hindu), douchebags.
|
Haha.
Our teacher was talking about Lebanon, and Hizbollah and how they like to **** with Palestine, becasue they're Sunni's? WTF. But anyway. This chick (Eva you know her Sync0) Was like Rami what's the Answer!? **** do I know, I don't live there... I'm not apart of their Mailing list, their newsletter. Leave me the **** alone. |
Teachers who don't actually know what they're teaching should be sacked and kicked.
|
Hahaha,a mailing list.
I hate how white people just group me into the middle east/indian category. Like they think we're all the same there. My friend's mom came up to me the other day and was like "so are you fasting for ramadan"? Come on guys, be a little less ignorant. But at the same time I do that to asian people, I group the vietnamese, chinese, korean, and japanese all into one category sometimes I guess. |
