i'm gettin' a 30 gig ipod in a month or so, that's all ya really need, it's about 10,000s, and a **** load of vids

Janeway 10-19-2006 03:03 PM

It's all you need if you like to carry a wad of crap around.

ZVM>iPod

Especially if you're watching video. The ZVM's screen is better, and the battery lasts two hours longer.

Creative > Ipods/apple + any other company
Like...If you have a compilation album full of a lot of different artists. Instead of putting them under Various Artists, like it should and sometimes does, it will list each artist separately.
I see. If you have a compilaiton folder for example on your computer, and whack different tracks in there, once you put it in Media PLayer (or their Creative source thing) then it will list all the artists.

What you can do is, highlight all the tracks, go to properties, Summary tab, then advanced. And put Various artists in artists, and 'Compilation 1' for example for the artist name.

This is just because when you rip your tracks, or download them they will be tagged all differently.

The only thing with the Vision:M (might have happened to you a bit) is sometimes it crashes when you try and open a file it can't open.

Janeway 10-19-2006 03:16 PM

I'll try it.

It's never crashed when I've tried to play files it can't play. The only problem I've had is that if I try to shut it down while a video is playing or paused, it goes to the main screen, shows the shutting down tab, but just freezes there.
Then I have to dig around for a safety pin and reboot it.

Berk 10-19-2006 03:24 PM

_So today we had a dance. It got shut down cause me and some buds were moshing durring a P! At The D tune. The DJ was like "When I tell you to stop, You stop, Someones gonna get hurt".

Twas good.

Janeway 10-19-2006 03:27 PM

Moshing at a kiddy dance.

You've hit a new lever of hardcore.

ugh, i feel like **** :(

my family ran out of food, so i had a crust for breakfast today.
then i went to college and was tired, so i drank a load of lucozade. that didnt work so i went and brought some proplus, and had about 8. so, with just pills and liquid in me, my kidneys decided to cane for the rest of the day, and my bladder became uber weak. my entire body aches from head to toe, my balls are on fire, as are my kidneys. being me, i then went out to a gig, but left cos i felt so ****e. and now my ears hurt as well from the music.

moral: dont try and live off energy products. you die.

We_Love_Lime 10-19-2006 04:06 PM

Lucozade owns.

So do Cornish Pasties (sp?)

Well the guy was like "All the rockers come up and show me what you got" and we started moshing. Rather lame but better than no moshing.

Brokensticks 10-19-2006 05:56 PM

haha that was a good one.

Anyways, i'm so excited to get my first double bass pedal tonight, for free :)!!! It's a Gibraltar one, not very high end I don't think but it'll do. Havn't been on here much lately, but I've updated a grabber arm to my kit, 2 more toms and now a double pedal, pics to come soon!

White Riot! 10-19-2006 06:00 PM

having the pedal to learn on is priceless in itself

sup drum forum

so for ages I've had this drumset made from drums scrounged from others' garbage, and never really learned anything except really basic stuff

but the other day, my dad went and bought an actual (used) set. So now I have no excuse not to learn

so I decided to try recording them

sit down, play, and get back. only using one mic, could sound better, but at least you can hear everything roughly in balance. I now realize that I can't play in time worth sh!t without someone to follow

I tried to use a click track, but can't hear it in my headphones over the drums.

So I decided to record a quick guitar track to clicks and then try to drum over it. So I made up a guitar part on the spot and then tried to drum over it

It appears I have very little natural rhythm. I need to somehow increase my blackness to the point where I can effortlessly drum along doing mad beats without caring too much about technique (I don't want to be a geeky white drummer that practices 5 hours a day and writes epic sci-fi lyrics whilst wearing a funny hat)

help me drum forum

btw you can find it here: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=514257

please don't laugh too hard at my drumming

or my guitaring for that matter

tl;dr: I suck at drums. listen to track, tell me how get better.
5 hours isn't that much >_>

That recording was eh, Your time is pretty (really) bad.

Practice rudiments to a click. You can do that on a pillow if you want :)
props on decent recording sound though.

White Riot! 10-19-2006 06:28 PM

practice your rudiments

Win A Rabbit 10-19-2006 06:29 PM

Yay my first freezer paper stencil worked perfectly. Here's a pic of it.

Now, onto more stencils and then onto putting them onto actual shirts!

I'm just on practice shirts right now (some of my brothers' that he doesn't wear)

here's where we run into trouble

rudiments?

time for a little google....

also: lol at good sound - that was recorded with one $20 apex mic, which I think was intended for karaoke, that can't take my amp spl and has to be put a full meter away to prevent massive amounts of popping, clipping and cutting out

Most of them you cant tell if the sound is clipping or if it is a kick drum. =P
