Does anybody else have some blues that I don't have?

I need some, Jake(DemBonez) has left for almost a year and he usually hooked me up :\
Well, my name's Jake, but I don't really listen to much blues. I used to like blues rock a lot, but I have sorta moved on.

JonG 01-15-2006 10:51 PM

I remember somebody talking about the Nuggets Box Set. Was it any good? I can't remember if it was 'moon or Lunch. Maybe somebody else.

dembonez didnt leave. i still see him showing off his blues superiority around jazz/funk.

magicbus might. or i might. i have mostly more recent stuff though.

1 Motion City Soundtrack 28
2 Jeff Buckley 23
3 The Strokes 20
4 At the Drive-In 19
4 Queens of the Stone Age 19
6 Mr. Bungle 16
6 Paul McCartney 16
8 Weezer 11
9 Electric Six 10
9 Kyuss 10

not much classic rock up there.

Led-ZeppelinIV 01-15-2006 10:55 PM

Any chance of anybody e-mailing me Good Shepherd by Jefferson Airplane?
stratocaster98038@yahoo.com

Phallus Dei 01-15-2006 10:55 PM

Are you talking about Nuggest: The Orginal Artyfacts from the First Psychedelic Era 1965-1968, type things?

Hey nice list PF minus that fagboy Jeff Buckley. What Kyuss have been listening to, same with ATDI and is that the new Strokes you've been listening to?

UGH, I'm going crazy my list still hasn't come in.

Led-ZeppelinIV 01-15-2006 10:57 PM
I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to figure out the basic principals of sitar playing if you fooled around with it and/or read up on it enough. I could sum up the basic principals of guitar playing in a few sentences.

I had the ultimate Classic Rock station, it was literally amazing. It had awesome programs like Classic Vinyl, which was an entire album they played every night at midnight without breaks...they had Psychedelic Snack and Psychedelic Sunday, which was Psychedelic music every lunch and Sunday morning. They also had cool Blues shows Sunday nights that played mostly rare Blues from the 30's up until now but also popular blues, and it always had this funny Rastafarian weather reporter that would (fakely) give the weather report as he was driving down Main Street and toking up...he'd always end his report by saying "Not too many cops out today, but I'd advise you to roll down your windows, just to be on the safe side."
I've always dreamed of starting a pirate radio station or something.

He said in SLSK he won't be back on for maybe a year. Which sucks, because he always gave me good blues.

get outta here with the buckley hate. he's so great. the kyuss is welcome to sky valley as that's the only one i have. relationship of command for atd-i and yes it's the new strokes. what are your thoughts on motion city soundtrack ya pop-punker?

jong, oh ok. i thought you meant that he had been gone already. what are you looking for?

JonG 01-15-2006 11:11 PM

I don't know, I'm open to anything old right now, mainly because I'm bored. Mainly any blues artists that I don't have.

Do you have any Ray Charles?

Illmatic 01-15-2006 11:11 PM

Allan is the only one here secure enough in his manhood to listen to Jeff Buckley :p

Is the new Strokes good? I love the bass intro for Juicebox... its so dirty.

I like Motion City Soundtrack I haven't listened to them since Commit This To Memory came out though. But I like them nonethe less. I love the lead singers voice, I'm going to have to bust out the mainstream jams here but my faovrite song of theirs new and old is "Everything Is Alright", I know they have better songs but I just rather listen to that!
Grace is one of my top ten favorite albums :-D
My condolences. :P

Pop-Punker! I'm guessing that was at me. Why I never...
/runs to pop-punk of which he's never posted in.

PF do you like Coheed and Cambria?

jong: i have the best of ray charles. if you want it.

here's my list. i'm bored and i need new music.
http://english.skivsamling.nu/show.pl?orderby=artist+asc&id=30408&offset=all

edit: phallus, i have their newest but it's not something i'd listen to often. i'm slowly opening up to music like mcs and coheed & cambria though. weird because i used to make fun of my friend for listening to it.

JonG 01-15-2006 11:26 PM

Can you upload your favorite Simon and Garfunkel album?

Hell yes it is. The bass intro to Juicebox reminds me of the Batman theme.

I always expect to hear Kirk Hammett come shredding in or something along those lines.

The new Coheed is probably my favorite of the three, but thats rare most people like the first one. Or most people I know.

Ugh still no Last.fm I've been checking it like every 20 mins since like 3 pm.

jpj 01-15-2006 11:33 PM

I'd like to hear some Coheed and Cambria. They seem like a band I might actually be able to listen to out of all these pop-punk or whatever bands.

I don't have much classic rock on my play list yet

jpj 01-16-2006 12:16 AM

Well, Bobby Weir delivers with Ace. I'm tempted to give it 5 stars, listening to it for the second time right now. Does anyone know if his other solo album is any good? I'd like to check out his album with Rob Wasserman.

NP: Bob Weir-Playing In The Band

JonG 01-16-2006 12:21 AM

I wouldn't go that far with a 5, but it sure is a good album. I was pleased. I'll give it another listen tomorrow.

Badmoon 01-16-2006 12:24 AM

Ace is a solid 4.5 if you ask me.

jpj 01-16-2006 12:26 AM

Yea, 4.5 sounds good. I think the only semi-weak track is Looks Like Rain, but I usually just don't like real soft and slow songs like that (like every song on American Beauty after Operator until Truckin'.)

Leper 01-16-2006 12:35 AM

Coheed and Cambria is alright, I thought of them more as a alternative/prog band though. They're definitely one of the more enjoyable newer bands.
