Steerpike 11-18-2006 10:26 AM

I'm ordering Stigmata tomorrow. The problem with Tarot imports is that they're all so expensive.

Stormrider 11-18-2006 10:28 AM

I had listened to the Tarot album with the song I Rule on it. Though the only thing I remember from it is the chorus in I Rule.

Steerpike 11-18-2006 10:38 AM

That would be Suffer Our Pleasures. Great album.

Stormrider 11-18-2006 10:40 AM

Yeah...I could never get into it though :-/

Can't say I gave it a lot of chances. But I deleted it...so, can't really listen to it again right now.

MetalOz 11-18-2006 02:42 PM

GASP! deleting a Tarot album, how could you? I have uploaded the new album, may I please send you the link?

Shattered_Future 11-18-2006 02:55 PM

Jammie, you should be shot now.

I looked at Tarot albums on Amazon, and now I wish I actually had money...:(

Stormrider 11-18-2006 03:20 PM

:(

I'm sorry guys. I'l go and get it back sometime and isten to it again And sure MetalOz. I'll give it a listen.

Riva 11-19-2006 05:16 AM

Jammie, I can't believe you deleted a Tarot album.

Minus 10  points

Also, Statovarius are the archetype of power metal, that is why they get so much respect/adulation.

Stormrider 11-19-2006 09:24 AM

Oh noo...not the  points !

:(

MetalOz 11-19-2006 11:53 AM

Well I sent you a link for the new Tarot, so check it out and report back here. Professing your love for the new album may gain you back some points :thumb:

NP Galloglass - Ancient Times
Oh, and Riva, you know whebn we were talking about which IE album we considered more Power Metal ? In the Viking thread ? Well, I forgot about mentioning it there...What about The Glorious Burden ? Tim's vocals add a big power metal feel to it at times IMO. Though, once again, I wouldn't go and call a all out power metal album, heh.

Just thought I'de add this here...
Yeah, on second thought I'd put Night Of The Storm Rider down as not so much power metal as traditional metal. The album does have a real Helloween feel to it at times, though.
i checked out all of the bold ones

No worries! Glad to have been a help.

Stormrider 11-19-2006 09:12 PM

Well, I don't really know any Helloween aside from a song, so I can't compare to that. But, when I listen to that album, I don't nessecarily think "tradition Metal"...though I guess it makes sense...

Night of the Stormrider owns all though.

Riva 11-19-2006 09:19 PM

Aye, I quite like Iced Earth now. I guess my old avoidance of them was based purely on my "Tim sucks cos he replaced Halford" attitude of yesteryear.

Apocalyptic Raids 11-19-2006 09:24 PM

I'm not that keen on Iced Earth. They aren't bad, just rather average.

I'd rather listen to Demons & Wizards, actually.

Deth 11-19-2006 10:23 PM

It took me forever to realize that was you Jono. I was thinking it was the last guy with that avatar.

Riva 11-19-2006 10:41 PM

Amit would have said something along the lines of "Iced Earth isn't good because it isn't Indian Classical".

Stormrider 11-20-2006 03:22 PM
Aye, I quite like Iced Earth now. I guess my old avoidance of them was based purely on my "Tim sucks cos he replaced Halford" attitude of yesteryear.
Ahh, I see. I've been listening to the Tim Iced Earth a lot lately...since that Winters Bane heheh :p

I'm asking the Demons and Wziards self titled for Christmas. Yeah, I still don't own it :upset: ...though it's more expensive then everything else.

pate 11-20-2006 04:07 PM

Hopefully you get the digipak version of D&W. I got it some years ago. There's a little pop-up monster that comes out when you open it.

Stormrider 11-20-2006 04:08 PM

:p

Self Titled ?

I've only seen a digipack for Touched by the Crimson King...

pate 11-20-2006 04:11 PM

Yep self-titled.

Tyler 11-20-2006 04:12 PM

D&W bother me because they have such a great drummer in Bobby Jarzombek and they don't use him.

pate 11-20-2006 04:16 PM

I haven't listened to them in years, so I don't remember the drumming.

Stormrider 11-20-2006 04:17 PM
Yep self-titled.
Ah, really ? Don't think I've ever seen it...

I doubt Jarzombek will be in the band in the next album. Unless they get him back until then.

He's only on the second album. He does a good johb on what I'vce heard from it...

Tyler 11-20-2006 04:20 PM

I just expect Bobby Jarzombek to be consistently blowing my mind.

Stormrider 11-20-2006 06:22 PM

I'm listening to the Tarot right now. This is actually pretty good :)

Better then I remember Suffer our Pleasures being...

Tyr 11-20-2006 07:12 PM

What do everyone else think of the new Therion that was in the DU?

Iron Bars 11-20-2006 08:22 PM

I'm listening to it now and have almost finished the first disc. For now it sounds great. The song The falling stone is an instant classic for me.

Stormrider 11-20-2006 08:23 PM

I serioulsy must check out Therion out.

NP Tarot - Traitor

Second listen into this. I'm really enjoying it

Tyr 11-20-2006 08:25 PM

Therion are awesome. I have two links I can send your way if you'd like?

Stormrider 11-20-2006 08:28 PM

Nah, it'll be okay. Thanks though :)

What album should I check out first though ?

Tyr 11-20-2006 08:31 PM

I think you'll have to ask Jason. I haven't heard all their stuff. He, on the other hand, have a good grasp on them.

Stormrider 11-20-2006 08:40 PM

Okay then.
/waits for Jason

NP Tarot - Tides

What's everyones opinion on this album ?

Steerpike 11-20-2006 08:47 PM

Stigmata by Tarot is now in the mail and I'm very happy. To get the free shipping, I went ahead and also ordered a copy of Chinatown on DVD and a book on cinematography. Tangents...

Anyway, by the end of the week I'll have more Tarot goodness. Hopefully I can do a review for that.

Riva 11-20-2006 09:16 PM

I have been summoned.

Jammie, my friend, do you prefer straight up death metal, melodic death with a progressive twist, symphonic extreme metal, symphonic power metal or straight up power metal?

Tyr 11-20-2006 09:19 PM

Which of their albums are straight up power metal?

Riva 11-20-2006 09:29 PM

None, but some of them come a lot closer to it than others. A lot of people have trouble getting used to the operatic vocalists at first.

Stormrider 11-20-2006 09:49 PM

Symphonic Extreme/power metal sounds interesting :)

Did you happen to get the version with the Live bonus disk?
