Which one did you get?

Tangy zizzle 08-18-2005 07:21 AM

Um the one like "Who will die and who will be left" or something. Not the breakdancing one.

ATM 08-18-2005 07:30 AM

Like the Exorcist, But With More Breakdancing is my favorite album from them.

Anxious 08-18-2005 07:35 AM

The Album Leaf.

'The MP' is a great song.

Wanker 08-18-2005 08:32 AM

Thanks to Talking Head, I'm really into Distance by Flying Saucer Attack

The album is probably perfect for a car trip down a remote highway.

snidget 08-18-2005 10:29 AM

I've been digging deadly amounts of The Mars Volta again (i can't help it)

Also, I've been liking Sigur Ros more and more

Happymeal 08-18-2005 10:41 AM

Make Up - Sound Verite
Marduk - Panzer Division Marduk

Interstate 08-18-2005 01:06 PM

I didn't listen to that much music on holiday but I've been diggin:

Brian Eno - [Ambient1] - Music For Airports - I listened to this album in Gatwick airport waiting to check my luggage in on the way to Spain for my holiday and it was one of the most mindblowingly amazing experiences ever. Everything seemed to slow down and it was amazing watching all these people go by while listening to this music.

Other daggage:

David Gray - White Ladder
Death Cab - Plans (I'm really enjoying this record now)
Death Cab - Stability EP
Slowdive - Souvlaki
Fear No Fish - Demo
Emma Mcglynn - Kamikaze Birdie

And first listen of - Method Man - Tical (4/5)

That's about all my music listening on holiday.

I can't wait to appropriately play that album as you did.
I can't wait to appropriately play that album as you did.
It's seriously good, I appreciate it SO much more having listened to it in a different environment, whether it was meant to be played there or not.

asymm 08-18-2005 02:23 PM

Oh yeah, Ambient 1 is truly brilliant. When I first listened to it, I felt myself become hugely inspired and I painted/created some amazing imagery from those feelings. An album that made me appreciate some new things.

TalkingHead 08-18-2005 03:09 PM

I know! I almost missed my flight at Tokyo Airport from how fixated I was while listening to that record. It's brilliant.

Currently, Im enjoying Buck 65 immensely. I cant shake the feeling that if Bob Dylan was a rapper, this would be the result.

Scott Herren 08-18-2005 10:18 PM

Royksopp - Only this Moment

Luxor 08-18-2005 11:40 PM

Elliott Smith - Roman Candle.

Great album, it's really grown on me since my first listen. Definitely not his best work, but it sure is up there.

The NPC 08-19-2005 02:40 AM

Naked Raygun - Throb Throb
The Supremes - Where Did Our Love Go
The Fall - Hex Enduction Hour

Twas one of those days, good thing I've had these magical albums for a good while.

br3ad_man 08-19-2005 05:56 AM

The Streets - Original Pirate Material

"It's Too Late" is definitely one of the best hip-hop songs I've heard in a long time.

biografiend 08-19-2005 06:13 AM

Rilo Kiley - The Execution of All Things

ATM 08-19-2005 07:22 AM

Broadcast - Tender Buttons

KRASH 08-19-2005 08:46 AM

Smashing Pumpkins - Ava Adore

Wanker 08-19-2005 09:03 AM
Smashing Pumpkins - Ava Adore
The song?

Because the album is just Adore.

Daniel! 08-19-2005 09:17 AM

Nick Drake - Pink Moon
Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
The Brian Jonestown Massacre - Take it From the Man
Fugazi - 13 Songs

Fugazi seems out of place on that list.

RedMorningLight 08-19-2005 09:39 AM

Been rockin' to some Modey Lemon Thunder & Lightning and Mooney Suzuki Alive & Amplified.

Master Arkam Kannon 08-19-2005 10:18 AM

Danger Doom is an amazing follow up collaboration album by MF Doom and Danger Mouse. MF Doom has been at the top of his game for a good 8 years now almost. Imagine Madlib, Danger Mouse and Doom on the same album.

Wrong.

It's his best work.

John Coltrane - My Favorite Things

EonBlueApcolyps 08-19-2005 11:37 AM

Coldplay and Longwave. That always happen right after i got to a concert

Luxor 08-19-2005 11:39 AM
Wrong.

C'mon... how can you possibly think Roman Candle is better than Either/Or?

Zappa 08-19-2005 11:43 AM
Naked Raygun - Throb Throb
I downloaded that one yesterday, and it's not at all what I expected. Much more straightforward.

Luxor 08-19-2005 11:44 AM

Raygun... Naked Raygun.

Robert Crumb 08-19-2005 11:46 AM
Currently, Im enjoying Buck 65 immensely. I cant shake the feeling that if Bob Dylan was a rapper, this would be the result.
If Dylan was a rapper, his backing group would be Da Band and he'd spit hot fire. Ha. Get it?

I'm finally starting to like Air so digging some of that. Never really liked anything of theirs much, still don't, but it's listenable.

Electrocution 08-19-2005 03:47 PM

Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution - A Call to Arms

One of those bands that sounds 1000x better when played loudly while you dance along.

Interstate 08-19-2005 04:19 PM
The Brian Jonestown Massacre - Take it From the Man
What do they sound like? I've heard good things about this band.

Today:

Herbie
Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers - A Night In Tunisia
Herbie Hancock - Head Hunters
John Coltrane - Giant Steps

It's been a jazzy/funky kind of day

Doctor D. 08-19-2005 04:21 PM
Imagine Madlib, Danger Mouse and Doom on the same album.
I'd cream myself. I've been on such a Madlib/Doom/ Stones Throw listening spree. It's all soooo good.

That's what I like about the album. It doesn't pull any punches.
What do they sound like? I've heard good things about this band.
They sound a lot like early Rolling Stones. Almost all of their albums are avaliable for download on their website. They're just in a strange format so you have to download a player for them.
