I never would have guessed that MMT was your favorite. I like those songs you mentioned.
 There ok songs, but compared to the others on teh album (Strawberry Fields Forever, possibly my fav. John song) they are not as good IMO, but they are still good.

DeusExMachina 12-30-2005 11:39 AM
MMT is denintly my fav Beatle album. So many great songs are on it (excluding Blue Jay Way, Flying and Baby your a rich man, never really liked any of those songs).
MMT is my second favorite, along with Rubber Soul. First has to be Abbey Road.

The Concert of Bangladesh... wow. Incredible.

RUSHFAN1990 12-30-2005 12:41 PM

The Beatles are such a good band. Each musician was good at wat they did. THe songwriting was amzing. It is pretty cool to listen to songs they wrote about their drugs such as Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds (LSD). Simply amazing band. O ya and Paul McCartney is great live. Eleanor Rigby is an amazing live song. Stupid Yoko Ono got in John Lennons head which broke up the band.

Jacaranda 12-30-2005 01:19 PM

Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds is NOT about drugs.

Who sings that Lucy in the Sky with Glasses? This is the secound morning that I've woke up to that song and its rather catchy.

Yeah, I got that for Christmas, definetly one of my favourite music DVDs.

blue3 12-30-2005 05:57 PM

I got this Beatles book called 'A Hard Day's Write'. It tells the stories about every Beatles songs. I haven't read all of it yet, but apparently it's good. Anyone else have this book?

WelcomeToTheMachine 12-30-2005 06:13 PM

I almost bought that book, but i hate not being able to read whats inside (it was all wrapped up) so i went against my judgement and didnt get it.
I almost bought that book, but i hate not being able to read whats inside (it was all wrapped up) so i went against my judgement and didnt get it.
Hah, okay then. It was 50% off, so I just had to buy it, even thought it was wrapped.

Well my favourite Beatles album list (post Help!) now goes as follows:

Revolver
Magical Mystery Tour
Abbey Road
Sgt. Peppers
Rubber Soul
White Album
Let It Be

I can't rate Yellow Submarine yet because I don't have it and thus haven't listened to it in it's entirety.

It's so hard to put any of them last, in fact, I'll just say the last three are all a tie.

Jacaranda 12-31-2005 02:10 AM

Sgt. Peppers
MMT
Rubber Soul
Revolver
Let It Be
Abbey Road
White Album

The last two albums I actually don't really like that much so there is a big gap between Let it Be and Abbey Road, in terms of me liking.

Leper 12-31-2005 02:26 AM

You don't like Abbey Road?? How come?

/takes deep breaths...:p

Jacaranda 12-31-2005 02:30 AM
You don't like Abbey Road?? How come?

Well I would go into more detail but I'm tired! So I'll just sum it up. It loses my interest about 1/2 through. And She's so Heavy is like the draggy on-est song ever.

Leper 12-31-2005 02:35 AM

I absolutely LOVE She's So Heavy. That song alone makes me want to put Abbey Road at the top of my list.

Jacaranda 12-31-2005 02:40 AM

Of course, it sounds good but then afterwards I'm just like "Holy crap, that song sucked."

Leper 12-31-2005 02:43 AM

That's a weird way of deciding you don't like a song..

Jacaranda 12-31-2005 02:50 AM

Well no, okay so its like I listen to half of it liking it then the other half comes on and its like I'm looking at the clock waiting for it to end, then its over and its like well I like that song, but it really sucks also.

I'm crazy?

I like Abbey road but I wish it would only have these tracks on it: 2, 3, 7-9, 11-13, 15-17. I think that would be a masterpiece maybe have some more tracks in there. But I've never really liked Come Together, and the rest just don't fit in with what I would've liked to see Abbey Road be, which is an album full of short songs that sorta tells a story. So a concept album basically!

n00bguitarist 12-31-2005 12:31 PM

The Beatles are my second favorite band. My favorite album of theirs is a tie between Sgt. Pepper's and the White Album. My favorite song of theirs is Revolution 1.

I also like Lennon's solo career. My favorite song of his when he was solo is a tie between Imagine and Working Class Hero.

blue3 12-31-2005 05:53 PM
I absolutely LOVE She's So Heavy. That song alone makes me want to put Abbey Road at the top of my list.
I like that song a lot too. So here's my list.

Revolver
Sgt. Peppers
Abbey Road
Magical Mystery Tour
White Album
Rubber Soul
Let It Be

I can never rate the Beatles albums. It'd hurt my brain because I'd be moving everything, and yeah.

Grimm 12-31-2005 09:59 PM

I only just started listening to the beatles affter i found an Aerosmith cover of Come Together. I would have started listening to them a while back, but twist and shout brought back terrifying memories of primary school musicals

/quivers in fear

They have some pretty catchy riffs, but i don't get to listen to their albums coz my mum lent her albums to a friend and never got them back before my family moved to another state.Come Together is probably my favourite song, followed by Suzy In The Sky With Diamonds, but i don't have many of their songs on my computer:(

I sort of feel that way about Aerosmith in general, save a few songs. They're just sort of bland. To be fair, it is tough to do a Beatles song justice.

Krabsworth 01-01-2006 12:31 AM
Hah, Suzy..

Yeah it is crap, and even worse, the average listener thinks that is Aerosmith's song.

blue3 01-01-2006 12:32 AM

Yeah, my friend didn't know it was a Beatles song till I told her.

TheShaneOMac 01-01-2006 12:34 AM

Abbey Road
White Album
Revolver
Let It Be Naked
Magical Mystery Tour
Sgt. Peppers
Rubber Soul

Krabsworth 01-01-2006 01:33 AM

So far, I have A Hard Day's Night, Revolver, Magical Mystery Tour, Abbey Road and Let It Be on vinyl.

Abbey Road is in horrible condition though.

Seafroggys 01-01-2006 02:37 AM

i own about two-three of every beatle record on vinyl....it helps when two Beatle fans marry :thumb:
