haha yeah shes good times

Paranoidd 09-08-2004 02:42 PM

My philosophy teacher let us watch Requiem for a Dream.

Beat that.

lunch998 09-08-2004 02:43 PM

I would do that if I was a teacher. "Remember kids, your report on Pink Floyd is due next class."

MalcolmYoungRock 09-08-2004 03:01 PM

Explain the story of the wall in 2 pages. Be sure to give explicit detail on Pinks character!

Oh and Johnny, don't give me another report on Usher. I want PINK FLOYD!!!

PinkFloyd 09-08-2004 03:01 PM
Speaking of looping I heard that voice at the very end of the Wall, and the very beginning, the one that says "Isn't this where..." at the end and "We come in?" at the beginning. Thats crazy.
yeah :amaze:

Paranoidd 09-08-2004 03:06 PM

Definitely. I loved when the teachers would let us do reports on anything we wanted. I'd always do a record or a movie.

MalcolmYoungRock 09-08-2004 03:08 PM

Theres probably some college class that is like "Musical Interpretation"

One of the assignments would probably be The Wall..

/me signs up for class

lunch998 09-08-2004 03:16 PM

If there isn't a class like this, we should make one. Educating young people about good music and the meanings behind it is important, too.

Filthy Greedy Guilty 09-08-2004 03:21 PM
And yeah, classic rock is becoming extremely popular among teenagers.
Yeah it really is. It really bugs because apparently its the new "in thing" to be a rocker now. Everyone says Led Zeppelin is their favorite band and you ask em to name their favrotie song and its of course "STAIRWAY!"

Badmoon 09-08-2004 03:36 PM

What was the song Santana played on the Woodstock movie?

MalcolmYoungRock 09-08-2004 03:37 PM

We should start Classic Rock 101 at the Lessons and Articles board lol.

"Introducing: Everyone who posts regularly at the Classic Rock thread.. with classic rock 101!!!"

Paranoidd 09-08-2004 03:39 PM

We should do more reviews.

I only did one Rush one, and I liked it, but it took so long. I wrote the intro off the top of my head, but I don't know that much about every band, so I need to research more.

Soul sacrifice. WAs it just that one though or did he play two? I'll check later.

Thanks a ton :thumb:

MalcolmYoungRock 09-08-2004 03:43 PM

I haven't written a review yet..

Badmoon 09-08-2004 03:45 PM

I have probably written the more than anyone on this forum.

I'm doing a lot of Jam Band reviews, people need to know some of those bands more than they do.

RockAndRoll 09-08-2004 03:48 PM
Thanks a ton :thumb:
No problem, What did you need it for?

We should start doing featured artists. But they should be either lesser known people or more known people but actually informative enough alot of people will learn something. It'd be cool, help us expland our knowledge of the good ol' days.

Paranoidd 09-08-2004 03:49 PM

I'm trying to get into Phish, I figured they'd be a good intro to Jam bands (ironic, since they're defunct now) but it just isn't growing on me.

Badmoon 09-08-2004 03:50 PM

^Wonderful
No problem, What did you need it for?
Just wanted to know :)

Badmoon 09-08-2004 03:51 PM

What have you been listening to (Song and album wise). I'll find some Jam stuff that will suit you.

MalcolmYoungRock 09-08-2004 03:52 PM

Same here. Badmoon recommend any Phish stuff for me?

Badmoon 09-08-2004 03:55 PM

Lawn Boy - A lot of Jazz, one Bluegrass song, a lot of jams, ect...
Hoist - Blues, Bluegrass, Jazz, Psychedelia, Rock, big production, ect...

Those two are my favorite.

Woodstock 09-08-2004 03:55 PM

Go to the review section. Badmoon did them all.

Paranoidd 09-08-2004 03:55 PM

I was listening to the new one (undermind I think), as it was easily available to download. I'm very open minded towards music, its just that some bands I have to listen to a few times so they can grow on me.

I don't listen to nearly enough Grateful Dead, either. (don't scold me :( )

Badmoon 09-08-2004 03:58 PM

I like Undermind.

Woodstock 09-08-2004 04:02 PM

Does anybody like "Tuesday's Gone" by Lynyrd Skynyrd? I'm listening to it now and I think it's a great song.

Maggot Dream 09-08-2004 04:09 PM

BTW, Santana played two songs at Woodstock, Persuasion and then Soul Sacrifice, but they only put Soul Sacrifice on the movie.

Woodstock 09-08-2004 04:10 PM

Cheap Editing.
