^ Do you buy your cds new on Amazon?
I usually get my CDs new from either Tower or FYE. So far, Tower has been a great supplier for my CDs, and sometimes Best Buy. FYE has a better metal selection than Tower, but I still have trouble finding certain bands. If all else fails, I check Amazon or CDNOW. They seem to always have what I'm looking for. Plus the guides people put together are some good resources to help open the door for new artists I do not know. |

Did I ever mention I used the lyrics to Sodom - Bombenhagel and Sepultura - Beneath the Remains in a school project?
Speaking of Bombenhagel, does anyone know what the band says at the end of it? Someone laughs as well. It's probably just drunken gibberish :p |
OK I got Possessed - Seven Churches finally (at about 56 bitrate :( ) it owns you
|
omgzz 56? lolo
|
Yeah, it adds to the metal-ness though. And I can't imagine the production being any better with 192 bitrate!
|
Isn't it possible to edit the bitrate?
Anyways, :chug" to you manuscript. How is it so far? |
You can get a lower bitrate but changing it to a higher bitrate won't do anything - it'll still sound the same!
And of course it's excellent! |
You can get a lower bitrate but changing it to a higher bitrate won't do anything - it'll still sound the same!
And of course it's excellent!
That sucks :( Hell...for 14 bucks, that is a good deal. I might buy it if I can find an another few copies because the one at my local Tower has like only 1, and I don't have the cash to get it now. Now when I do get it, the only problem will be that I better not make it obvious to my parents when I come home with it. Not like I'm a religious fanatic, just that my parents are somewhat religious, but I don't know how they would react if they saw the inverted cross. They know I listen to Slayer and all the heavy stuff, but they never said anything about it. All I can do is just say that it's only music and that I'm smart enough not to do a stupid thing like sacrafice a female virgin in the name of Satan...that's just idiotic because if you let the music get to your head, that's being really ignorant. Then people blame the band for it. People should realize the band doesn't push anyone to do anything, and that it's only just a theme and base for the song/album/or even band. |
Funny thing is, Larry Lalonde who now plays in Primus denies any input with the band
And Seven Churches owns, I thought it would be a bit more deathy, but it's still good |

That's also the reason why in the definitive metal albums thread i listed it as death metal but followed by ????. Great album though regardless of genre. |

Slayer - The gods of thrash metal!!!
I agree with Reign in blood was the most thrashin' metal I've heard. Slayer rule in thrash!!!!!
|
I doubt I'll ever understand why so many people love RIB
|
Its good but its not the best. I thought Seasons In The Abyss was just as good...

It's because of all the satan themes |
I haven't posted in a while, but here I am...
Anyone else here listen to Demolition Hammer? That band is fvcking great, I'm in love with the song .44 Caliber Brain Surgery. I went to my friend's gig at a local club over here, and for a punk band, they fvcking slay. They did a great cover of Anthrax's "Deathrider". I couldn't believe they knew that song. I went to my local FYE and checked out the metal selection, and surprisingly they carried a few D666 albums, and even had every Bathory release for sale at under 10 bucks. I left there with "Unchain the Wolves" and Bathory's self-titled album. Score :chug: NP: Legacy - Reign of Terror (pre-Testament demo - '86) |
^ I'm going to see about checking out my FYE in the Glendale Galleria. Supposedly, that's one of the biggest shopping centers in Los Angeles. I just want to see what they have and I'm sure there's a Virgin Megastore in the area (in Burbank x_x).
So can anyone describe Destroyer666 for me? |
So can anyone describe Destroyer666 for me?
Black/death/thrash whatever. They're good though. \m/ And the FYE around here has a Heavy Metal section, which is pretty decent actually. So I just saw Slayer last night. Holy shi.t, that was teh most aggressive and intense show I've been too. I'm surprised I made it out alive. Teh place was sold out, so it was fvcking packed and barely any could move. I was up close for awhile, then I moved back to a bar in the standing room since I couldn't handle the pit and crowd surfing. Argh, fvcking crowd surfers. Before Slayer even started playing, people were moshing. And there were so many kids who went for Killswitch Engage, who sucked. There was jackas.s who kept touching me and rubbing on to me during Killswitch. Mastodon was pretty good actually, and Dry Kill Logic blew. Slayer, however, had a great set list, and Tom's voice was phenomenal. Man, it was amazing. They played Necrophiliac, Fight Till Death, At Dawn They Sleep, Chemical Warfare, and a lot of other great songs. The only song I didn't like on the setlist was Stain of Mind, but that's alright. SLAYER \m/ :thumb: |

That's just as bad as Disneyland's price for a drink...but at the Hyundai Pavilion, the large water was 5 bucks, but they wouldn't let us have the bottles because we would use them as "projectiles". I already saw people tossing beer cups in the air, and even a beach ball  I wonder if there was a flying bra too... |
I thought it was illegal to sell tap water? Atleast, it's your right in australia to have free tap water where ever you go. bottles are fun to throw at things, especially bad bands.

I wanted to do that to the second stage bands at Ozzfest XD Anyways, I was trying to record this thrash tune I made up but for some reason, my amp sounds really low when I hit playback. I think I need a directional microphone from Radioshack because Radioshack has these mics that are shaped almost like a square at an angle on the top, so it can pick up sounds in a better direction I guess. I still need to fix the riff a bit because I was just testing my Cakewalk when I wrote it. Anyone have suggestions how I should try modeling it after? |

I got turned down from bringing a bottle of water into a pub, because the security guard thought it was vodka. I told him to smell it, but he wouldn't, so I told him where his shi t pub can go and went to another one :smash: |
*bump*
I was browsing around Destruction's site, and I was totally unaware that they had an entire Live DVD/Live CD titled "Live Discharge". 4 hours of Destruction! (plus extra features, clips, and a History of the band with some 80s footage XD) Then I found "Get Thrashed...", the documentary on the history of Thrash Metal due out sometime this Fall, but I'm not sure when. I saw the trailer, and I am going to keep my eye open for it, because this is one thing I can't miss. Anyone know about the Sodom Live DVD said to come out? I've checked their site and so far, nothing planned, although my "One Night In Bangkok" CD came with a live videoclip for "Among The Weirdcong". Anyways, I'm just hyped to find the Destruction DVD, awaiting "Get Thrashed", and I guess that's it... Edit: EDIT: The U.S. Version of "Live Discharge" does not contain the Live CD. Supposedly in the trailers, there was a HUGE mix up between the European version and U.S./Canada Version, but so far, many owners of the DVD recommend it, even if there is no Live CD to go with it. |
