Rollo47 09-29-2006 12:17 AM

I just cleaned out my fridge. It was one of the most disgusting things I've ever done.

ebe9 09-29-2006 12:18 AM

Well I get to plane down two big *** chunks of wood this weekend and get covered in sawdust. Plus side though, I shold find out what my nut making skills are like.

Rollo47 09-29-2006 12:20 AM

Funnily enough, I'm starving now.

I hear fungus can be quite nutritious.

Rollo47 09-29-2006 12:23 AM

Mmm. Not the kind that you find growing on avocados though, I don't think.

Hey, I just said nutritious, I never said I would eat it. :thumb:

Rollo47 09-29-2006 12:26 AM

Hahah, fair enough.

There was some brown sticky substance all over the bottom of the fruit and veg boxes. I really wonder what it was.

Bacteria degraded/biodegraded plant material.

You get that with just about any fruit. Basically it turns to mulch and makes a great fetiliser for the tree.

funkyhoney 09-29-2006 12:29 AM

fact:
fruit decomposes and makes sticky brown **** :thumb:

I have better than that. I have a whole thread dedicated to it.

I have just moved house so I havenot had much time to work on it of late, but that will change.

Basically A huge amount of crap has been piled in front of the cupboards with the bulk of the tools are, so I can only work on the parts of the bass that require tools I can actually access. Fun stuff.

Rollo47 09-29-2006 12:48 AM

Ah, cool. Looking good! :thumb:

funkyhoney 09-29-2006 12:54 AM

looking good

i think im gonna cruise, i need sleep, i've been doing too much lately

ebe9 09-29-2006 12:55 AM
Ah, cool. Looking good! :thumb:
I re-designed the body a bit (to scale on a fuck of big piece of paper hence imposible to scan) and have pretty much marked out the lines on the timber so that it is ready for cutting/shaping.

I first want to route a channel and glue a piece of steel for support. It most likely won't need it considering how stiff and hard the woods are, but for my piece of mind I am going to do it.

Other news, I bought some Nordstrand DC pups and a Hipshot A style bridge from bestbassgear, and am currently waiting of it to be delivered. I very sincerly hope that customs does not get cute and try to charge me more than the 14% VAT.

Rollo47 09-29-2006 12:57 AM

Very nice. You'll have to post clips when it's finished, I'm thinking it's going to sound fantastic.

I certainly hope so. Going to be a Volume Tone setup for each pup with two 3 way mini toggles switches for Series/Parallel/Single Coil. I am goingto use the EBS MicroBass II as the Pre-amp for it.

The sucker weights a tone, just the neck core alone is about 6KG's (12-13 pounds) so I do not even want to think what it is going to weight once the wings are on.

ebe9 09-29-2006 01:03 AM

Well, I can only hope it does not look like this at the end of the day.

Funny ****, I imagine he would get more for the harware if it was original than for the bass as a whole.

ebe9 09-29-2006 01:14 AM

Right, I need to get some breakfast and then score a few tests.

Catch you all later. Good chatting to you Rollo.

Okay, so I am bored and browsing the web.

How is this for a wtf.

This is a true story from a real newspaper, "THE SWAZI TIMES".

"For several months, our nurses have been baffled to find a dead patient in the
same bed every Friday morning", a spokeswoman for the Mbabane Government
Hospital told reporters.

"There was no apparent cause for any of the deaths and extensive checks on the
air conditioning system and a search for possible bacterial infection, failed
to reveal any clues."

It seems that every Friday morning a cleaner would enter the ward, remove the
plug that powered the patient's life support system, plug her floor polisher
into the vacant socket, then go about her business.

When she had finished her chores, she would plug the life support machine back
in and leave, unaware that the patient was now dead! She could not, after all,
hear the screams and eventual death rattle over the whirring of her polisher!

"We are sorry and have sent a strong letter to the cleaner in question.

Furthermore, the Swazi Health and Welfare Department is arranging for an
electrician to fit an extra socket, so there should be no repetition of this
incident. The inquiry is now closed."

Swazi Times

By the way, the headline of the newspaper story was : "CLEANER POLISHES OFF
PATIENTS
