I heard them play one of the new tunes a while back; I would call it much more optimistic than anything else they've done, but hardly more aggressive. I can't wait to hear the rest of it, in any case. A full of album of Pelican intensity will be orgasmic I'm sure.

I've definitely gone off of Sigur Ros since I first got into them. They're alright.

Once, I also heard Same Ol' Road and Wedding Nails on the same half hour of an MTV show. It was bizzare.

I agree with you. It's their most complete and coherent work for me. ( ) goes a bit too much into repetition (especially in tracks 5, 6 and 7) for me, and Agaetis Byrjun is somewhat incoherent. All three albums are excellent though and Takk is a 5/5 for me.

I didn't even know Sigur Ros had a song in it and it was completely amazing on its own merits.

About Takk: They just lost the whole super depressing and surreal minimalistic sound. Takk is just really experimental and changing a ton. I can't stand listening to even half of it.

I would consider Slint post-rock. Not all of their songs are post-rock influenced but they definitely have some songs that have epic climaxes ([I]Washer,[/I] [I]Don, Aman[/I].)

Slint own. Spiderland is great for a walk in the woods.

My sister bought me Jaga Jazzist's What We Must for Xmas. It feels good to finally have it, as it's in my top 5 favorite albums.

It came with 4 demos: All I know is tonight, Mikado, Swedenborgske Rom, and Stardust Hotel. Nothing extraordinary, but a nice addition nonetheless.
