can someone recommend me some Suidakra songs

Det_Nosnip 02-16-2005 11:12 AM
Do you have Theli or Deggial?
Yeah, both are fantastic albums. :) IMO, picking up Kristian Niemann as a lead guitarist was nothing but good though...that guy is great, highly underrated. He's been on since Secret of the Runes, I believe.

Det_Nosnip 02-16-2005 11:14 AM
I can't, but ask in the death heads thread, you should get answers.

Det - good post, but this thread is for answering other people's recommendations, not just recommending whatever you like :) I may check out Therion more though, I've only heard a few songs. Incidentally, did you ever actually look into Hollenthon?
Oh. Whoops...I can never get these "official" threads straight. Hollenthon...ah! Righto, I'll check 'em out. :) Hmm...their webpage hasn't been updated since 2002! Are they done? Listened to a few samples...sounds pretty cool so far. Symphonic black/death? So far, it's pretty much up my alley.
Oh. Whoops...I can never get these "official" threads straight. Hollenthon...ah! Righto, I'll check 'em out. :)
At least your post was intelligent and informative, giving some one information to actually interest them into checking out the band. Because we get ton's of idiot's in here just posting some random list that people should check out and leave...

PinkFreud 02-16-2005 11:25 AM
Ok, I have been wanting to do this for a while, but the other day, I started making a playlist to put on a cd of songs that are just insturmentals. So far, I have:

One Word- The Mahavishnu Orchestra
Wedding Nails-Porcupine Tree
Triad-Tool
Call of the Ktulu-Metallica
Erotomania-Dream Theater
Eruption-Van Halen
Singularity-Gordion Knot
To Counter and Groove in E-Minor-Spastic Ink

I need a couple additions. Rep++ for interesting, good reccomendations. Remember, I just want insturmentals, plzthnx.

EDIT: And, also, If you have Gmail and would like to just email those songs to me, my tag is spiralout7@gmail.com :thumb:
steve vai - for the love of god
eric johnson - cliffs of dover
stevie ray vaughan - little wing
liquid tension experiment - acid rain
liquid tension experiment - paradigm shift

aw hell, just check out the new instrumental thread.

Nathanbot 02-16-2005 02:22 PM

I know theres somebody out there just dying to reccommend me some Children of Bodom. ( :thumb: thanks in advance)

munky_magik 02-16-2005 02:23 PM

When the search feature comes back online people should really start searching this thread for recommendations for certain bands.

I hope not..I'd heard rumours of them (well, him) starting work on a new album. I just remember you saying in two separate threads that you were thinking of checking them out, so I was wondering if you ever had :)
Yeah, if everyone who just recommended in here (rather than asking for/responding to others) made posts like his, I don't think we'd mind at all, heh.

MAthiAS 02-16-2005 02:39 PM
I know theres somebody out there just dying to reccommend me some Children of Bodom. ( :thumb: thanks in advance)
Songs -
Lake Bodom
Warheart
Silent Night Bodom Night
Bed of Razors
Wrath Within
Children of Bodom
Downfall
Follow the Reaper
Children of Decadence
Hate Me
Northern Comfort
Kissing the Shadows
Needled 24/7
Sixpounder
Bodom Beach Terror
Triple Corpse Hammerblow

Album wise, go for Follow the Reaper first. Then, if you like cleaner vocal style, then get Hate Crew Deathroll, if you don't, then get Hatebreeder.

Enjoy.

EDIT: Which Arch Enemy album should I go for, Burning Bridges or Black Earth? I have Wages of Sin, the first four songs are excellent, and the rest is mediocre. But I really like the Rare and Unreleased album that came with it.

And what Dark Tranquiltiy is better, The Gallery or Damage Done?

Nathanbot 02-16-2005 02:49 PM
Theyre both really good albums, Damage Done is an album thats easily accessed and enjoyed, but I found The Gallery deeper and more worth the money

Can anybody make some Evergrey Reccomendations?

CaptainWaits 02-16-2005 04:59 PM
Can anybody make some Evergrey Reccomendations?
Sure dude, here's some albums and their best songs:

Solitude Dominaince Tragedy
-Solitude Within
-The Shocking Truth
-She Speaks to the Dead
-****ation

Recreation Day
-The Great Deciever
-End of Your Days
-Recreation Day
-Blinded
-Your Darkest Hour

Those are the 2 I've heard by them, and IMO Recreation Day is a bit better than Solitude Dominaince Tragedy, but check them both out if you can, Great Power Metal :thumb:

Deth 02-18-2005 02:53 PM

can anyone tell me the best Iced earth album?

CaptainWaits 02-18-2005 03:11 PM
can anyone tell me the best Iced earth album?
Well depends. They're Thrashiest album I'd say would be "Night of the Stormrider", and overall that's probably my favorite too. But "Burnt Offerings" is a wicked album too, but it's quote a bit different then the others. "Dark Saga" is they're softest work, and I think os very underated, cuase it's also a great album. And lastly "Wolf" is probably their heaviest work, and it's just as good as all the others.

Deth 02-18-2005 09:50 PM

well..thanks, but it didn't really narrow it down for me.

The list of CD's to buy grows yet again...

Freezing Moon 02-19-2005 01:28 AM

I think I'm going to get another Satyricon CD. I have Volcano and Nemesis Divina, and I like both of them. What is their best/what should I get next?

I have Volcano too, but I like Dark Medieval time and Shadowthrone better. Especially Shadowthrone, I think thats there best album. Dark and threatening.

Blues rock: ZZ Top, SRV and Ted Nugent are good blues and blues-influenced rock as well.
