yah i found it so i deleted my post asking where it was

Jom 08-07-2007 12:38 PM

overturned, you picked the wrong forum to move that thread :(
I considered it moving back here, but then I realized that that wouldn't be as fun.
Thank you, though!

overturned 08-07-2007 01:48 PM

Seemed somewhat General to me tbh...:p

This is probably going to turn into a shitfest. And as much as I love those, I'm not in the mood.
And it seems every time this guy makes a thread the same exact thing happens.

overturned 08-07-2007 01:54 PM

I do, actually agree.

JoshIsNumber3 08-13-2007 10:40 AM

There is someone peddling another crappy forum, as if we need another crappy place to waste our crappy time.

overturned 08-13-2007 10:46 AM

Done.

thickasabrick 08-18-2007 02:44 PM

Hey I know you guys (Dave?) don't like a lot of stickies, but since you closed the Gear Thread can you just sticky one so people can put all their new gear in there.

Giga 08-18-2007 02:46 PM

It won't work, people think that they're special and deserve their own thread, so it'll never get used.

your_mum 08-18-2007 02:51 PM

making a specific thread for gear and all other topics is a waste of time, I dont see why people are getting pissed off tbh, Im finding it a bit hard to explain but Im sure people feel the same way, all this talk about we should make a sub forum for such and such is bullshit. Thats my input.

Giga 08-18-2007 02:52 PM

Theres no point in changing anything really.

overturned 08-18-2007 02:58 PM
Hey I know you guys (Dave?) don't like a lot of stickies, but since you closed the Gear Thread can you just sticky one so people can put all their new gear in there.
I'll settle this tbqh.

I closed the post your set-ups thread because there is no point having one if then certain (often the same group of) users post in there and make additional threads about what they have posted. Then on top of that, post about it in the Lod.

You can only have it one way.

Either we have no dedicated "photos of stuff you've gone and bought" and you can make your own threads about it in moderation.

Or

We have a post your set-ups / photos of your gear and we have absolutely no "omg new gear" threads by individual members.

There will be no gear sub forum as thats pointless.
You can easily talk about gear in the main guitar forum or lod if you so wish.

your_mum 08-18-2007 03:01 PM

I vote the first one. It seriously keeps this forum alive I rekon.

The Crimson Sunset 08-18-2007 03:18 PM

seperate threads > 1 gear thread

like your mum said, it keeps the forum alive.

Abu-Abu 08-18-2007 03:22 PM

your mum and The Crimson Sunset have it right imo.

Every time it's been brought up in the 'lod, I say that, and everyone disagrees...but seriously, this forum is SO dead compared to like a year ago or so. You used to be able to make a thread, and have an answer within minutes, now it can take hours, even in the 'lod depending on the time. I think if we just made more threads like that...then we'd only get posts in them, and no new threads, besides **** ones anyways.

Rum Monkey 08-18-2007 06:58 PM

Im with Your Mum, Crimson and Abu-Abu on this one. Seems like the most logical idea.

your_mum 08-19-2007 10:59 AM

I think the term IMO is such an important term here at emecks, for exmaple;
hot daaaamn, that's a nice....camera.

horrible guitar.

your loss.

sorry.
something like this will most likely cause a lot of arguements whereas I rekon this could be avoided if the user just put it like this;
hot daaaamn, that's a nice....camera.

IMO horrible guitar.
I mean he still hasnt justified his opinion but it is less harsh.

AG 08-19-2007 11:18 AM

It's a term that isn't needed, of course it's his opinion.

Or is Jon's opinion absolute fact? I didn't realise, oh crap.

your_mum 08-19-2007 11:29 AM

we know its his opinion, but when he doesnt state the obvious that it is, some people get annoyed because they feel he is forcing his opinion onto them, Im not picking on Jon, I think he is cool, Im just saying if we say that before we state our opinions, Nobody has a reason to cry.

get me?

Dont order people about.

That thread has no potential at all and its a complete waste of bandwidth. What were you expecting from it?

Stop running away and crying to the mods cause people dont accept your shitty excuse for a thread.

If it gets very nasty and offensive then a stop will be put to it.
However, as it stands, forum needs to thicken up its skin a bit.

I don't know man, I think every thread he makes is pretty much revolutionary.

Squirrel 08-19-2007 11:44 AM

Yeah true, theyre not a waste of bandwidth at all.

Na i just dont accept your shitty excuse for a post, its pretty easy to just not post if you have nothing to contribute.

OT are they eligible for a ban? I did nothing wrong that i see

All three of you should work this out in the lod, instead of bickering about it here or in that thread.

If its a poor thread, like we've said before, let it die.

Used666 08-19-2007 11:52 AM

I thought it was funny, so i posted it,i see no harm there

Squirrel 08-19-2007 12:00 PM

It contributes nothing.

If I didnt make those comments, at least a dozen others would have.

Used666 08-19-2007 12:11 PM

Ya it contributes humor to an often humorless forum, not to mention if you took the time to watch the video the guy is actually pretty inventive with it
