I just picked up Moving Pictures today along with De-loused in the Comatorium from The Mars Volta. Both great albums :D.
If high-pitched male voices in progressive rock settings are your thing, wait until September 20 when the new Coheed and Cambria album comes out!

BludgeonySteve 08-26-2005 10:16 PM

No whoring Coheed and Cambria in the Rush thread.

And from what i've heard of both bands, I think that Rush better. Though Coheed is good.

thunderzstruck 08-26-2005 10:35 PM

My friend says Coheed is a stupid punk band... true?

BludgeonySteve 08-26-2005 10:36 PM

Umm. No. All i've heard from them is a Dream Theater-ish (exept less wank and a little more whine) sound.

thunderzstruck 08-26-2005 10:38 PM

oh well then my friend= idiot

amirite?

BludgeonySteve 08-26-2005 10:43 PM

I don't know. I've only heard 3 songs. He might be right. Lets get a comment in from YDload.

YDload 08-26-2005 10:47 PM

Coheed and Cambria is a progressive pop-punk band. They have some really "out there" songs like The Crowing and 2113, but they also make really poppy three-minute songs for radio and MTV. They're not sellouts, that's just the range of what they like to write.

BludgeonySteve 08-26-2005 10:48 PM
2113.
wtf? Do they want to piss off Rush fans or something?

Scooch 08-26-2005 10:53 PM
wtf? Do they want to piss off Rush fans or something?
Maybe its more of a tribute, because I watched an interview on tv and it seemed like they have a lot of respect for Rush.

Hollywood Rose 08-27-2005 12:45 AM

Coheed gets 'booed' off the stage all the time, I think?

Huber 08-27-2005 01:12 AM

I've only heard the C&C song called "Welcome Home". It was very good.

YDload 08-27-2005 01:23 AM
Coheed gets 'booed' off the stage all the time, I think?
No, that sounds pretty ridiculous to me. I have a friend who's seen them live, seen live footage on MTV2, and they have a concert DVD out as well. Must be an awfully big conspiracy for all those people to pay money to see Coheed and then boo them, but cover up any memories or recordings of it!

But back on topic, Rush is awesome :)

Huber 08-27-2005 01:26 AM

What are Rush doing right now anyways?

Dread_rocker 08-27-2005 01:56 AM

Recording a new album in the Autumn for next year!

I wouldn't even call them pop-punk. Their music is much too sophisticated for that. I hear the new album has some insane solos too. Their vocalist is absurdly high, however, and I find it very hard to listen to them sometimes.

Xanadu 08-27-2005 09:48 AM

That is good news to me. Awesome.
Yes, and Geddy Lee sounds like a man?
As much as I love Geddy, thats so true.

But if Rush is making an album, you knowwhat that means? A last tour

Kreator2112 08-27-2005 12:04 PM

haha coheed is one horrible band, you guys act like they have any talent in performing let alone guitar...

Cain 08-27-2005 12:07 PM

Neg-repped for pointless flaming and failure to open your mind. Don't act like a moron.
But if Rush is making an album, you knowwhat that means? A last tour
Sounds good to me. They came to here a couple years back, but I never got a chance to see them. There's no way I'm missing them a second time.

Cain 08-27-2005 12:08 PM
2113 what fags
It's meant in tribute, obviously.

Kreator2112 08-27-2005 12:13 PM

Xanadu 08-27-2005 12:16 PM
It's meant in tribute, obviously.
i dont think coheed should tribute rush, they are not worthy

Jacaranda 08-27-2005 12:18 PM
i dont think coheed should tribute rush, they are not worthy
I don't think you should contribute to this thread, you are not worthy.
And Coheed are a great band. I think they will be the Rush of our generation, if you know what I mean.
