Does anyone honestly sit down and decypher a song to the point of finding out the backwards-message (if it has one and you don't find out about it off a site!)? I never tried it!

no, you just put the record on a direct drive ([i]not belt drive[/i]) turntable, play past the backwards lyrics, then spin it backwards and listen. then do what it says, and then kill yourself. that's how it works.

or you could decode the mp3 of the song to wav format, open it with some wav editor, set it backwards (if it can do that), and listen to it.

Interesting. Any records that i would have easy access to that would have backward-messaging? Like any of the more popular bands in this forum. I could never get my hands on a LoC record, if they ever made any.

the only one that comes to mind immediately is on a green day record. the slappy EP. you cans still buy it from lookout or most distros. in their cover of knowledge, near the beginning. i don't know what it says (never bothered to check).

but you can get choking victim LP somewhere, i'm sure, if you look.

Backwards stuff is easy to spot in some songs, you'll just hear some gibberish. I just take the MP3 and run it through editing software (I use cool edit, recording the part with your mic on sound recorder works) and reverse it.

Butthole Surfers - Pepper has backwards stuff, its just the chrous backwards.
There is backwards stuff in a Pink Floyd song on the Wall, not sure which song, I always forget. There is a couple others but I can't remember them.

It's also your ear being told what to hear. If you are told it says "I like ponies" then you are going to pick up on the sounds similar to "I like ponies"

true, but what I dont get are the people trying to say there is a demonic message when played backwards when clearly be listening to it there is no possible way it could sound like that?

It all sounds like backwards music to me. I like when artists put deliberate messages, some are harder than others because it will be under other music. But its always fun finding them. If I ever make a record, there will be a backwards message on at least one song.

Can anyone tell me what guitar and amp setups choking victim and LoC use. id reaaly appreciate it. cuz they got a really good sound.

I almost got to see them, I was in Philly and they were playing, but tickets had apparently been sold out 2 weeks before, and there was a torrential rainstorm, flood watch just before they played, we couldn't even get a cab there, it was too far to walk. Was anyone here there? How was the show?

Is this this like an early version of Clear Channel or something along those lines.

That was the best show I've ever been to. LoC wasn't that great, but the Subhumans were amazing.
