Blegh. The Final Cut sounds to me like the outtakes that weren't good enough to make it onto the wall.
I thought it was? I was told that was exactly what it was, maybe I am misinformed...I like it anyways though, but the wall is my fav album...

DeusExMachina 11-09-2004 08:30 PM

And for the record, I think When The Tigers Broke Free is whiney and annoying. Maybe its just me.

Could be, I don't really know the history of the album. But it certainly sounds like its true.
Well, in the movie, yeah, but not the album. When The Tigers Broke Free literally is an outtake that didn't make it onto the wall. It became a single, went on the movie, and made it onto The Final Cut eventually, but it didn't cut it for The Wall.
I don't have it, and I have that album...odd...

I meant the movie

The Wall was the first Floyd I ever heard. My dad was spinning some of his viynl for me. My favourite from that album is probably "Mother"

When The Tigers Broke Free is only on the recent remastering of The Final Cut. All releases of the album prior to April 2004 didn't have WTTBF.

That sucks, so how would I hear that song...I have the movie soundtrack on my computer, which part is it, is it the whole version?

Kage 11-09-2004 08:41 PM

At what point in the Wizard of Oz do you start playing Dark Side of the Moon to get them to be synchronized?

Riva 11-10-2004 01:34 AM

Hey, we're official.

And you start it at the third roar of the MGM lion. Don't know how it'll work with adverts though.

DeusExMachina 11-10-2004 02:58 PM

W00t! Officialness!
That sucks, so how would I hear that song...I have the movie soundtrack on my computer, which part is it, is it the whole version?
In the actual movie, the song is split into two parts, but its the whole song. Not sure how they put it in the soundtrack.

By soundtrack, I mean the entire movie in audio form, so where would it be at?

DeusExMachina 11-10-2004 04:22 PM

Oh... Well, This is just a rough estimate, but the first half should be a couple minutes into the thing, and the second half is... um... I don't remember. I'll get back to you on that.

Permanent Solution 11-10-2004 05:15 PM

So do the lyrics go something like:
kind old king george sent mother a note when he heard father had gone...

Thats the one. "it was just before dawn one miserable morning in black '44"

Permanent Solution 11-10-2004 08:03 PM

Ah nice, good song, sounds like something off the final cut for sure...

DeusExMachina 11-10-2004 08:09 PM

Yeah, they make it fit really well into the album. Its a pretty good album, but its definitely my least favorite by Pink Floyd.

Permanent Solution 11-10-2004 08:11 PM

Ah, I think OBC takes that prize for me, not a bad album, but not really good either.

DeusExMachina 11-10-2004 08:12 PM

Hmm... I actually don't have OBC. I intend to own all their albums pretty soon though.

Hehe, there's so many of them.

I asked one what their favorite song by them way (he said Heartbreaker, a pretty well known hard rock song by them) then I said that mine was Smoke On The Water and he agreed that it was one of Zeppelin's best

:smash:

Same goes with Pink Floyd. The Dark Side Of The Moon shirts are out of control.
