I did just say. But I'll say it again: j88_ftm@yahoo.co.uk (MSN) |
Seriously, your guitarist sounds like an a-hole. Can't you do anything to get away from musical involvement with him?
That side project i was talking about...yep. Its everyone in the band besides him + some new guy. Were trying to change our sound every song, so one song will be long, melodic, without vocals, while another will be short asnd spastic with screaming. Im still loving the prog-hip-hop thing, too, but that would require a clever lyricist, which there is a lack of around here. I better just go and watch TV or something, i might get pissed and break something around me if i mess something up. |
Argh, I hate my drummer. He's horrible. He's been playing longer than I have (circa two or three years) and he can't even make up a drum beat. I don't think he realizes he has a crash cymbol, and for the life of him he can't remember the structure of a song that WE WROTE and have practiced for a month.
And here I am in a general good mood :)
Oh man, I love our drummer, he's the most gifted in the band by far. He probably has more talent than the rest of the band combined. And he can make some sick drum beats. :p Die. |
I did just say. But I'll say it again: j88_ftm@yahoo.co.uk (MSN)
Oh snap. I didn't see that. :-x /adds |
Oh crazzy man. Why must you break my hand. I need that for stroking your ham.
|
Speaking of talent, everyone in my main band is fairly talented, so none of us really want to break the band up since nobody else in our school and nearby has the potential to make good music, so we cant replace anyone if they leave.

Die.
I hear he's extremely attractive as well. And he'll stab you just for looking at him. |

Die.
Recordings? Same here though... In my band it's like: Drummer: Grade 8, and has played at the Royal Albert Hall in London Trombone: Grade 8, and can make up horn lines off the top of his head Sax: Also grade 8 Guitar: Me, self-taught for 3 years Bass: Has no apparent musical talent at all ;) Actually, that's unfair, he can play basslines that I write if I show him them :p You may guess we play ska-punk  |

Guitarists are dime a dozen, if you have a good drummer and bassist you're set. |
Guitarists are dime a dozen, if you have a good drummer and bassist you're set.
Ahh, i guess you have a point. I started playing bass because everyone else played (or tried to play) guitar. |
I hear he's extremely attractive as well.
http://www.myspace.com/7dayweekendband Live recording posted in the comments. Very low quality though (P.S. I am the drummer if you didn't catch :p) |
Bass: Has no apparent musical talent at all ;)
Yup, sounds like a bassist. (My bassist is really theory-oriented, though. We just tell him what chords we play and he just walks all over everything)
Guitarists are dime a dozen, if you have a good drummer and bassist you're set.
Depends on where you live. Around here, the only other guitarists that I know either suck, are good but have little creativity, or aren't into to any modern style of music. It can be frustrating. All the drummers are either potheads, dicks, they suck (my drummer), or are members of my band...not playing drums. (My bassist and guitarist are both pretty good drummers :p) There are literaly maybe 5 bassits in my school. |

Oh SNAP!!!!

Eh, fair enough, I'm a class A dick. Edit: I didn't write it :-\ Once I start writing our music it wont sound like The Ramones anymore :p |
Im gonna see if theres any good pr0n on, ill see you guys tomorrow.
Peace, niggas. |
Haha, gotta love the Ramones cover. The singer makes me sound like a competent vocalist, though, which is nice.
|
Haha, Vince. My old band did a cover of The Bop at our 8th grade dance. :p

My band did a wicked cover of Freebird before we broke up. |
My band covered Wonderful Tonight and Free Fallin' too.
Hahahahaha, my band played Free Fallin' for one of our gigs. I was singing. I kept forgeting the lyrics, so I taped them to the mic stand  |

We had just started learning Wonderful Tonight a few days before, and he couldn't remember all of the chords and lyrics, so he had a sheet of paper on the floor to read them off of. :p |
I kept forgeting the lyrics, so I taped them to the mic stand
Haha, bet that looked classy as you were playing it! I always have difficulty remembering lyrics for gigs. I still can't get through band practice without having the sheet to refer to. When we played Scratch by Allister live, I spent most of the day at work with the lyric sheet in front of me. Somehow, I pulled it off without fluffing a line. |
All of these metalcore bands doing the Southern Rock thing lately.. :D
Hahahahaha, my band played Free Fallin' for one of our gigs. I was singing. I kept forgeting the lyrics, so I taped them to the mic stand
Alot of LOCAL bands do that. :thumb: |

There's a lame UK band called Free Faller. Just thought I'd mention. |

so what do you dream about then? What color is your skin, Private? Green, Drill Sergeant, Green! says: death. Mine, other people's, everyone's. I know it's coming, it's just a matter of all the circumstances lining up in the right order at the right time. *Insert something witty here* says: don't think like that What color is your skin, Private? It's illegal by heaven's laws because it puts us closer to divinity than God wants us to be. By acting of our own volition we spark new outcomes and new modifications to the already existing rules set in place to mark the ending of all of our What color is your skin, Private?
