so today, ive been running the internet striaght to PC without the router, and its not cut off apparently, my bro has been on it, it usualy cuts off quite often.

It started happening when i got 4mb broadband, like the same day, so im wondering whether my router cant handle 4mb, and if im going to have to buy a new one.

Nah, most people who complain about XP just don't know how to protect it properly. Downloading an OS really doesn't make it any less stable than it already is.

I complain about XP because my PC tells me it's not genuine when it is.

A Zen Vision: M is only about £160, and theyre pretty solid.

I had 80 gig HD, 192mb RAM (lol) and an AMD processor, 1.83 GHz.

The only thing I've upgraded really is the RAM, to 1 gig.

I have no idea about either tbh.

My mum claims it was £1000+ but it's really not that great. It's almost as slow as the PCs we have at school.

Our school macs are an absolute bitch.

They can't even handle Dreamweaver, so we have to use a shitty program called NVU to create web pages, for coursework.

Seriously outdated, but yet they upgraded them to OS X, which has made them run even slower.

The ones in the Technical dept (woodwork etc) are brand new though, and are supremely fast.

Seems logical, upgrading the ones in Technical rather than Computing.
