i have it. i used to confuse them with my chemical romance. they're like, the epitome of shoegaze. definitely alt/indie though. i'll try to get it up. the videos i downloaded from google dont work!

I Am The Walrus is such a fu'cking trippy song. It may be my all-time favorite Beatles song.
I wish Bill Ward from Black Sabbath got more recognition from both Rock fans and Metal fans. Not only is he the first "metal drummer," but he doesn't have anything close to the typical metal drumming style...he drums a lot more like Mitch Mitchell than Lars Ulrich, with that free/improvisational style.
I love Bill Ward, definitly one of the best. I didn't bother to read through all eleven pages of the poll, but did anyone besides me nominate Cozzy Powell? |
i did. his work with rainbow and jeff beck is great.
|
Anyone else besides me nominate Jim Gordon? He drummed for Derek and the Dominos and was a session man for a lot of guys like George Harrison. Good drummer. I have like 10 more drummers I need to nominate but I was in a rush so I couldn't do it before.
np- Any Road I love Brainwashed so much. I think I'm going to review it sometime soon. |

How many do you have? np: Turn on Your Love Light - GD (this guitar solo kicks ass) |
that's odd. i chose my nominees based on whether they're talented or not.
i was going to vote for gordon but i couldnt think of anything that would show his talent if someone challenged it and so i went with people who i could prove are deserving. which isn't to say gordon shouldnt be up there. i just didnt nominate him. |
I nominated Ward because he is one of my favourite drummers.
I really want Mitch to go far in this poll, he mgiht possibily be my favourite drummer. Oh yeah, I'm starting to get into Jeff Beck a little. I really like songs like "Come Dancing" and "Head for Backstage Pass" but I'm still abit shaky about the rest of Wired. P.S.- Black Sabbath's s/t rules EDIT- This looks pretty cool http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=Arf4uak2ksm3x |
Miles Davis is so cool. I saw the Complete Bitches Brew Sessions at Costco for $20, but I didn't have any money at the time :(

Sure, Bonham was talented, but eccentric, and sometimes erratic. If I want to hear an insane drummer like that, I'll take Moon. |

You've said that like a million times already. |

I like Kind of Blue; it's his only work I own. On a related note: I asked in the Jazz recommendations thread, but I did not recieve an answer, so can anyone tell me what roughly the top 10 jazz albums are? I only have a couple. |
I want Live-Evil. That looks really good. I like jazz and could give you a list of my top 10 jazz albums but I'm kind of a jazz n00b and they're other guys who could give you a much more definitive list. It's all opinion, but Schyma and Krabsworth seem to be the biggest jazz fans here.
And I've decided to start reviewing Brainwashed because it's like the greatest album ever. Even though it's already been reviewed by someone. I probably won't finish it till tomorrow though. |

He was with Jeff Beck? Which albums is he on? Np: Tarot Woman - Rainbow |
You've said that like a million times already.
I remember posting it once like 2 months ago when the event occured. |

I picked up GY!BE's Yanqui UXO today. It's pretty good. I also picked up Jeff Beck Live at Sin-E today. It makes me orgasm. |
He was with Jeff Beck? Which albums is he on?
Np: Tarot Woman - Rainbow
he MIGHT only play on the jeff beck group. good stuff though. edit: you mean jeff buckley, deus? yeah, it's great. i couldn't list 10 of them but some that would be included would be: miles davis - kind of blue miles davis - bitches brew john coltrane - a love supreme john coltrane - giant steps charles mingus - mingus ah um dave brubeck - time out eric dolphy - out to lunch mahavishnu orchestra - inner mounting flame weather report - heavy weather others to but i dont know. |
Okay, well here's the thing.
I asked my dad when we were getting cable. He said a month. And, it turns out my modem is slow, but fast enough to view the site. Just barely. So, I left Norton running, and after 6 long hours of downloading, it's updated and a firewall is up. So, I'm back. For now. Until I switch to cable. I want cable. :( In other news, my review for Concert for George is almost done. :) |
Cable will take like an hour at the most to install.
|
Cable will take like an hour at the most to install.
I know, but from the point from where we have to ship back our modem to Verizon and recieve the hardware required to have cable from Charter (we install everything ourselves) it may take a week or 2, depends. |
Cable...luckyyy.
I finally convinced a friend of mine today that there's too much filler on the White Album..well, kind of. I said that it would've been so much better had they not made it a double album and she agreed, so yeah I think that means I convinced her. |

Rocky Raccon, Blackbird, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Helter Skelter, Happiness is a warm gun. |
Sure, Bonham was talented, but eccentric
He shoved a fish up a womans vagina. A snapper. I'm loving ZZ Top big time right now, listening to their greatest hits. They write such good strut music. Led Zeppelin 3 is finally warming up to me, i had Friends stuck in my head all last night at a party i went to. |
I dont know why, but I just can't really get into ZZ Top.
|
Me neither. Only song I ever really liked was "Sharp Dressed Man".
|

I couldn't agree more. All filler aside, it's a masterpiece. |
I couldn't agree more. All filler aside, it's a masterpiece.
That's a hell of a dubious distinction. |
That's a hell of a dubious distinction.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. Isn't a masterpiece... perfect as is? |
Well ok, maybe not masterpiece. Heh I didn't mean it was the god of all rock albums. Sometimes I get carried away with impressive sounding adjectives..but it would be pretty close to a masterpiece.
|
I agree with you in saying that it's a good album, aside from the amount of filler, but it's not exactly a masterpiece.
