I didn't make a link between wealth and access to telecommunication, you did. Poor doesn't not always mean wealth, it's just that monetary wealth gains access to those things easily. If you can access internet, the society you're in has enough structure that you're not deemed poor by my definition.

So, in your mind, someone living on the street, without an even remotely steady source of food or shelter, still wouldn't be considered poor so long as society has granted them free access to a computer?

In my mind there's people who are poor in our [American/UK/US] society, but are unaware that there are support mechanisms they could engage that would assist them. But yes, there are poor people in our society. My earlier point though was to say anyone who [I][B]is[/B][/I] using the internet either, has access it to it through wealth and thus isn't poor, or they've seriously got their priorities wrong if they're poor but wasting their time on a forum instead of trying to better their situation.

i work two jobs that pay me jackshit, i go to community college off pell grant money and my own ****ing money made by me, my computer i bought in the fall last year when i had a scholarship on top of the pell grants that i once again used there. i have been poor enough to steal, for a three month period when i was 13 i did in fact not have an address and lived on the streets, and had to steal to eat. Maybe because i have actually experienced the hypothetical situations that moralist's propose, i have a different view on it than all you privileged sheltered ****ing housewhites.
