Where is it at?

I_WEAR_RED_PANTS 04-02-2009 07:35 PM

maitland showground.

what date is progfest?

also, my sister and mum ran into the grates while they were getting passports or visas or something

horseypie 04-02-2009 08:20 PM

thats awesome, i only really knew the songs they play on triple j which i really liked and i got their album last week and its wicked. and they look so fun live
its actually gunna be best day

gaslight 04-03-2009 03:34 AM

The Grates wouldn't really need Visas to play here seeing as they're Australian. Passports maybe, unless they were going overseas I guess. Anything's possible.

Progfest is the 16th and 17th of May at the Annandale Hotel.

gaslight 04-03-2009 11:26 AM

Anyone else up late doing anything? I just finished transcribing the bass to a Muse song. Time for sleep I think.

Meatplow 04-03-2009 08:05 PM

i've been taking sleeping tablets but instead of being unable to sleep which has been remarkably cured I am unable to wake up

blueyxd 04-03-2009 08:17 PM

cursed to walk the earth forever as the asleep-living

horseypie 04-03-2009 08:33 PM

i need to stop picking my toenails because im starting to get another hangnail
this will be my third (second on the same toe) if it gets ****ed up again

sgrevs 04-03-2009 10:14 PM

I used to love the Grates when they had just released an EP and it was all raw and punky and fun but then their albums are so bleh and predictable and over produced. Still good live though prob, they were awesome at Homebake 04. Or maybe 05, can't remember.

gaslight 04-03-2009 11:24 PM

Knights Of Cydonia has a pretty funny bassline if anyone's wondering.

What's everyone up to tonight? I'm gonna watch the rugby and have stuff to eat, that's about it. Maybe transcribe some songs if there's a dull moment.

sgrevs 04-03-2009 11:26 PM

I might watch the Tahs, I was gonna go to the Swans game but I hate making the effort to get to stupid ANZ stadium. Will be flicking between Swans and Tahs matches.

gaslight 04-03-2009 11:49 PM

Yeah this is a big match for the Tahs. They really need to lift their season to the next level.

I'm tipping an obliteration of cosmic proportions of the Lions by the Chiefs, Brumbies should comfortably dispatch the Cheetahs. Hurricanes need to do their best to upset the Sharks and are placed well to do it after ending the winning streak of the Bulls last week, though they did that in the most favourable of settings and are facing the Sharks in the least favourable of settings.

sgrevs 04-03-2009 11:51 PM

Is Sharks v Hurricanes in SA? No way can I see Hurricanes winning in that case. Tahs game will be really good, I'm hoping for no more of that 5yr old level ball control shit they've shown in the last few games.

gaslight 04-04-2009 12:05 AM

Yeah, they're playing at the Shark Tank in Durban. My bad too, that was the Highlanders that did the Bulls in, the Hurricanes posted a win over the Lions but based on their form in that I'd say they'll be chum this weekend.

Did they really need to have two New Zealand names starting with the same letter? Does my head in. It's getting to the point where some teams need to man up against the Sharks or they'll be having a comfortable run into the elimination stages.

Crap, I only just found out that Sivivatu partially dislocated his shoulder against the Reds last week and won't be starting against the Lions. He's a machine, but I think the Chiefs will still power over them regardless.

Meatplow 04-04-2009 04:27 AM

i've been on a kick of learning unnessecary skills teaching myself french through the rosetta stone program and working my way throuhg this how to beat box video tutorial package

soon i'll be beatboxing in french

gaslight 04-04-2009 04:46 AM

Are you learning to speak it or just read it?

Meatplow 04-04-2009 05:11 AM

both. the only thing i don't like about rosetta stone is that so far at least it's not thorough enough explaining the context of things, it's all based around image recognition

on a side note: barry lyndon is a very good movie

gaslight 04-04-2009 05:18 AM

Best way to learn a language is by using it interactively I think. I learned Latin and classical Greek in school by translation only basically and not much of it stuck. To be fair though you can't find many places to use those interactively.

I just watched Rocko's Modern Life for the first time in like ten years. What a great show.

This book looks pretty interesting http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mask_of_Sanity

RunAmokRampant 04-04-2009 08:13 AM

Yeah Rocko's Modern Life brings the nostalgia. Great show.

gaslight 04-04-2009 08:29 AM

Waratahs yet again delivering their brand of disappointing yet successful rugby.

All the rugby televised out of South Africa the last two weekends has been replete with technical difficulties. I wonder what they're up to down there.

I_WEAR_RED_PANTS 04-04-2009 12:13 PM

Rocko's Modern Life freaked me out when i was a child.

happy day light savings day.

gaslight 04-04-2009 12:26 PM
