Fight Fair are top skram and #1 DIY
Old saosin are top skram. Come at me. |
never listened to Saosin except for a minute of one track which I thought was pretty bad.
in other news, one of my homies from roml sent me their new album. it's probably one of the best albums of 2011. no fucking exaggeration. this album is nothing short of amazing. it's like a fusion between The Appleseed Cast and Explosions in the Sky with NO boring stuff, only climaxes and perfection. here's the song they've put up everywhere to promote the album: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCDmCHeo4z8. MIND BLOWING. |
that's pretty good
but you're overrating it as usual |
It's fucking so diy though man.

New album is disappointing.
|
New album is disappointing.
its good but ehh, didnt wow my like fyeb did |
Agreed. It's not bad but it doesn't come close to FYEB.
|
yeah
fyeb took me a few listens to get into but damn its good |
Snowing
much better than SSC not nearly as good as ARC very much worth listening to anyway |
Boy Problems, tbh.
Snowing LP is continuing to grow on me. It's pretty good stuff |
mostly christsimpson but p much every post in this thread lately makes me grit my teeth
even my posts :( |
... aka they are popular and successful thus I can't think they are bad. which I do.
its as if youre purposefully missing my point theyre not "really bad at everything" because they're clearly talented you don't have to like them, that's fine, but they're not "really bad at everything" like you keep claiming
y, it's not like actual punk/hardcore/emo/screamo has anything to do with diy...
it's not like there arent good punk bands that have gotten big and realized that diy isnt a religion you really just need to read geoff rickley's response to daitro
what's not intense with IWASMOFFY? intense doesn't necessary mean noisy or puke-y vocals. I definitely find their nerve very much intense.
yeah man lo-fi guitar with thin tone and a viola, how intense! |
When I think of intense skram, I think like, Orchid, Jeromes Dream, Louise Cyphre, and Akephal.
IDK BRO. |
Was listening to Snowing just now, KJ Jamming is such a bad song.
|
New album is disappointing.
naw, it's just full of slower songs, not as punky. |
it's not like there arent good punk bands that have gotten big and realized that diy isnt a religion
yeah they are called sell outs |
lmao
forgot how much better iwsmoffy's st is than believes in patterns |
I prefer Believes in Patterns a lot over both s/t and the demos. it's all good though. but Believes in Patterns flows better as a whole. it's super awkward and off key in every way possible.
|
Believes In Patterns doesn't flow at all, that's why it's not as good.
|
how does it not flow? all songs are equally awkward and filled with angst and hatred. it's brilliant. the only track that doesn't fit in is the album closer. but that's arguably the most odd and awkward track of them all, so it somehow works anyway. it's a great album.
|
It doesn't flow because the majority of the transitions are completely forced.
And not all of the songs are awkward, listen to Twelve for example, that song is perfect. |
I really can't tell if christsimpson is a gimmicky obtuse troll.
|
forced? I find them all super awkward and screaming "I don't know what I'm doing". the album doesn't sound forced at all imo. that's what makes it so good.
"Twelve" is pretty awkward. especially the parts without distortion. it's like a really failed attempt at math rock with screaming. I love it. one of the best tracks. another song that totally rules is "Nine". If my younger self could see what I've become it would break his heart and he would say to me but someday when I grow up I'll be somebody you'll see and no one can take that from me, someday when I grow up I'll be somebody you'll see and no one can take that from me and we always said this wouldn't be us and we always said this shouldn't be us and we always said this couldn't be us and we always said this wouldn't be but I'm standing here now at twenty-fucking-two and everything that I believe is slipping from my grasp my faith in myself my faith in this world my faith that everything will work out in the end now THAT is some seriously top skram lyrics |
do you know what a forced transition is? ugh
|
even if he did (which i actually think he does), i'm sure he would like it. he likes emo/screamo for a different reason than you do, why is that hard to understand?
|
people like screamo for one reason
cred |
i wish i got cred for my screamo records.
i get cred for the shows i go to obv. |
i get cred for being fucking awesome
