That's pretty much it.

jpj 09-19-2004 02:44 PM

goo goo dolls 09-19-2004 02:46 PM

Paranoidd 09-19-2004 02:47 PM

jpj 09-19-2004 02:48 PM

Paranoidd 09-19-2004 02:50 PM

Mine is definitely Xanadu. It doesn't get any better than that.

jpj 09-19-2004 02:50 PM

Broken Arrow 09-19-2004 02:51 PM

no Floyd song could be shorter.

wanton 09-19-2004 02:53 PM

No one likes folk rock? I like it just as much as blues rock.

jpj 09-19-2004 02:54 PM

i guess it does add that Floydiness to it, but im a busy man

Broken Arrow 09-19-2004 02:55 PM
No one likes folk rock? I like it just as much as blues rock.
BludgeonySteve 09-19-2004 03:04 PM

MalcolmYoungRock 09-19-2004 05:41 PM

My friend said something like that once.

"I'd rather slide down a slide made of razorblades then land in a pool of orange juice than talk to you."

It hurts.

jpj 09-19-2004 05:53 PM

^^^i should try that

magicbus 09-19-2004 06:37 PM
do we have any religious clapton followers? I mean sure we all love him and acknowledge him as a god of rock but do we have any religious ones here like we have for the dead, jeff healey, or like some of those one post people were to zeppelin?
I'm religious about Clapton :thumb:

And I'm pretty sure Badmoon is about Gov't Mule.

magicbus 09-19-2004 06:38 PM
Well, maybe I'm a religious follower of Clapton, or at least the closest thing we have here to one (if you didn't know, my avatar is a shot of Clapton and 'Slowhand' is Clapton nickname).
I knew both of those! They called him that cause he was the expert of slowhand guitar! That feels good! :thumb:

EDIT because don't want a triple post:

I like blues rock and prog rock the best. Also I'm in the chatroom.

RockAndRoll 09-19-2004 06:54 PM

I don't know what I like best, I hate picking favourites. I like pop rock and soft rock the least though.

*is in the chatroom*

MalcolmYoungRock 09-19-2004 06:56 PM

I'll join the chatroom fun!

Broken Arrow 09-19-2004 06:59 PM

I joined the chat biatch.

Seafroggys 09-19-2004 07:00 PM

Hmm, I forgot a very important subgenre. I'll post the list again and put some example bands in, but most of these bands are varied in many of these.

Blues Rock (Stray Cats)
Folk Rock (Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkle)
Hard Rock (Deep Purple, Jimi Hendrix)
Pop Rock (The Beatles*)
Southern Rock (Lynrd Skynrd [terrible spelling])
Prog Rock (Yes, Jethro Tull)
Jam Rock (Grateful Dead, Santana)
Psychadelic Rock (Jefferson Airplane, Iron Butterfly)

* The Beatles have definitly done all the above. I just needed a catagory to put all those Paul pop songs in.

My personal favorite genre is the hard rock, though my favorite band is The Beatles.....shows my diversity.

Badmoon 09-19-2004 07:02 PM
Blues Rock (Stray Cats)
More Rockabilly.

magicbus 09-19-2004 07:02 PM

I think Blues rock would be like Cream and Hendrix. Maybe?

Broken Arrow 09-19-2004 07:03 PM

Hendrix also plays the Blues you know

EDIT: too slow (again)

themightyquinn23 09-19-2004 07:04 PM

In my opinion, to be diverse, you have to like more than just general rock music.

Broken Arrow 09-19-2004 07:07 PM

I like Acid Rock

RockAndRoll 09-19-2004 07:09 PM

blues rock and hard rock have a lot in common.

themightyquinn23 09-19-2004 07:11 PM

What I meant was, different genres like jazz, reggae, R&B, gospel, etc.

Broken Arrow 09-19-2004 07:12 PM
