aerosmith and guns and roses suck big *** dude. steven tyler and axl rose are complete douchebags. metallica has much talent my friend. you are jsut way too closeminded. actualy no aerosmith and guns and roses dont suck just their vocalists. they are complete douchebags and sing like ****. aerosmith's slower stuff is pretty good. but walk this way and anything like that is annoying. axl is a douche. slash is great along with the rest of them. kik is good. hetfield has some great ****ing riffs. lars is pretty **** fine drummer. a lot better than you give him credit for. master of puppets is most excellent. too bad lars is a douchebag. cliff burton is an amazing bass player. metallica has lots of talent. hitroshimite i get what your saying. but its somewhat true and somewhat not. bands can be good or bad. but i mean it all depends on their talent. way too many people i know hate hair metal, but **** they had some rpetty fine ****ing talent. thats what it all boils down to talent. i get what your saying about judging and ****. but that all dpeends on peoples talent. people need to have respect for the greatness of certain types of music instead of just bashing on it. they need to find some good of it.

Hitroshimite 07-07-2004 09:31 PM
Dude obviously you didn't read about what i was saying. I was inferring to their accomplishments. Read carefully before making smart *** comments.
Just because they've accomplished a lot doesn't mean their music is great on a universal scale.

Also, there are plenty of Death Metal songs that are far more difficult to play than the stuff on St. Anger.

clown_phobia 07-07-2004 09:32 PM

what would you (people in general) think of st anger if it was released by another band, as their debut album?

I think people only idss st anger becuase it is inferior to metallica 83-88 (-91?)

Kirk-hammet 07-07-2004 09:32 PM

If you ask me. St. Anger was an awesome Metal album. It was one of the first Metallica albums i listened to, bcuz i never use to be big on them until a couple years ago, and I thought the album was wicked. Then i started listening to thier older CD's and i was like HOLY SH!T this is the best band on the face of the earth. so ya St. Anger may not be a very good Metallica album, but as metal album its pretty **** good. and like alot of ppl say, they tried something new.
And i gotta question for everyone, how do you think Metallica would be if Mustaine never got kicked out and Kirk never joined?

clown_phobia 07-07-2004 09:33 PM

isn't it great that people are making these nice long posts with well explained opinions?

clown_phobia 07-07-2004 09:35 PM
metallica Rocks..lol thought it was funny how that dude who just bashed metallica has a beavis and butthead icon and isnt one of them wearing a metallica shirt?
yeah beavis (blue shirt) is wearing a metallica shirt
and butt-head (black shirt) is wearing an ACDC shirt

EDIT: at least in the show that's what they wear...

Kirk-hammet 07-07-2004 09:40 PM

ya sometimes on merchandise they cant copyright the names or something, so they use 'Skull', and 'Death Rock', i think it is. ANSWER MY QUESTION ABOVE!!!

Kirk-hammet 07-07-2004 09:46 PM

I also have another question does anyone no the order of the band members cutting thier hair. like from who cut it first to last. I no its kind of a stupid question but i thought it would be interesting to know. i think james cut his last and newstead first if im correct but im not sure

Your opnion. Your another thick-headed person.

Killskull 07-08-2004 09:06 AM

Ya, Jason cut his first. I remember watching some older vids of them doing some shows, and his hair was gone. As far as James and Lars, im not sure. Kirk only had short hair through the Load days (i beleive).

Prattinator999 07-08-2004 11:45 AM

My friend is going to one of their concerts in fall.
I told him to bring a pick to get it signed by Kirk and he said he would kill for that :thumb:

Kreator 07-08-2004 11:47 AM

i'm sure it's easy to get a signed pick of kirk

Dude saint anger shouldn't even qualify as pure Metallica. It's just20% of their type. The rest is bob rock, bob rock, no alcohol, bob rock.

youboringlittlecunt 07-08-2004 04:32 PM

i say dude too much, don't i?

superpeer 07-08-2004 04:58 PM
Nobody can say for sure their motives behind their sound change. That isn't the point. The point is, it happened, and it had two effects:

a) it alienated alot of their older fans who didn't want to hear more melodic, catchy songs
b) it attracted a newer fan base who weren't into the faster, thrashy stuff.
^^ great post i agree w/ you

i always loved 'tallica! well i'm not that old, my first 'tallica album was the black album given by my mom[luv u mom :D] then i started listening to their older stuff i was just amazed by the power of those riffs, than load came out i...[once again my mom offered(sp) me the album :D]...and i thought "wow that's strange....what a change in their sound" but i liked it and so on...i can truly say THAT I LOVE EVERY METALLICA ALBUM! the only song i don't like much is "i desappear(sp)"...other than that it's all good.

Now, of course they're aren't perfect they too are human beings and as normal ppl they have flaws...i just don't think that it has a great impact on their music...AND IF IT DOES well then i must say i like their flaws!:p

I don't know if they changed their sound for the money and to be more "radio friendly" or if they just changed it 'cuz they were sick of doing the same music. i just think that it has been a good change and a hell of a ride imo.

Kirk-hammet 07-08-2004 07:37 PM

I have an issue that most people never talk about. And its James vocal skills. If you ask me Black Album was the best album for his singing. he was so into it, and his voice was so cool. Now he doesnt emphasiz as much even though theres more actual singing now. Its just not the same "Were off to Neva Neva LAND!!!" like it used to be...

Baodegoth 07-08-2004 08:14 PM

well...james sings for the song! what i mean is...he delievers diferently(sp) for each song...the approach is never the same.he interpets(sp) the songs like no one, it's just fvucking awsome! if you ask me i think his voice is better on load than any other album. there's only 1 more singer that i like as much as james and that's sully from godsmack..you can see the styles are similar afterall sully is a big 'tallica fan :p

motorbreath53 07-08-2004 11:00 PM

i just dont like how he says baby and ends almost every word with aahhh nowadays, hes still awesome
