I'm "trying to" play drums at the moment, I'm just so rich I can afford anything.

:p Nah, I'm getting good quality stuff so later when I get better I don't have to go spend money on better equipment.
What if you give up on it? what do you do then?

Nostalgia 12-27-2005 02:11 AM

I don't give up, I set goals and accomplish them. Oh and the amount of money my Dad spent on them is enough modivation.

well you can't let your old man down can you?

Meh, that's what my little brother did. There is now a drumset in front of my TV

However, it isn't all bad. My brother decided to play electric guitar, and he is really good for his age/the time he's been playing. The set is decent, so I just have any of my drummer friends come over and bang on it so I can practice keeping him in time (Ah, the duties of the bassist...).

Nostalgia 12-27-2005 02:15 AM

Damn spelling. Nah it's not that, I would just feel kind of guilty.

Shred Danson 12-27-2005 02:18 AM
Trevor, I have no socks, for your band has rocked them off.
Dude, ben! We start recording our 5-song demo in early January! woohooo!
I quite like that song on your band's myspace.
thanks, man.
Yeah I like Without A Trace a lot. Great show. And I think the two Aussies are the best actors of the entire show. Hands down.
yeah, yeah, yeah, I've heard every damn tv show joke in the book, Riva. :p

Sleepy 12-27-2005 02:24 AM

I'll check your band out when I get to Mexico tomorrow, ICB. Judging by the rave reviews you're getting from the other posters, I wouldn't want my ears to bleed this late at night.

Don't worry, I'll be back on here to rant about your band tomorrow. Nighty night.

PigeonRat 12-27-2005 02:28 AM

yeah I kinda wanna get a drumkit.

kinda.

So would I. My friend has one, and I've tried playing numberous times, but I just lack the cordination. Plus there is no room in my house for one.

gmoneyguy 12-27-2005 02:31 AM

Im ready to pick up drums. it should be easy with all the rythm theory have been doing for school

Bazarov 12-27-2005 02:33 AM

I like the new thread title.

its like sight reading without pitches. it get really complex.
on test he give me a line that i have to count. last one i did was in 9/8 with 32nd notes, I had to count in subdivisions. Sophmores have to do the samething but with 2 lines that they have to tap with either hand

Haha, OK man.

drum talk- I suck horribly at drums, but I think I'm startin' to get the hang of it...

See that's how my friend is. The first day he got the drumkit set up, he was doing beats, he claims to have never played drums till the day he got his, but I think he's lying.

Ah, that would be a hard class for me. Kudos to you if you understand that stuff.

I can play basic beats, and i dont own a drum set. dividing and subdividing is where i have problems.

I guess it's that I just plain suck at drums. But oh well. I'm happy with having just a guitar.

EDIT - Well when I go to college, I might have to try a class.

Its college course, Im a music major, but they start off basic and build off of that

you have to take an entrance exam to be in college muic theory.

I suggest taking theory in high school, it will help with your playing and help with college if you plan to be a music major.

I just watched this drum lesson DVD thing while I played.

I'm happy with having a guitar too. It would be cool to own a bass though..

You just have to line up the subdivisions evenly. Of course I couldn't show you over the internet.

I love drums.
