Very nice. Mew are my favourite band right now.

Zappa 06-08-2005 11:46 AM

I think I'm starting to appreciate Pere Ubu as a band who makes music I can enjoy. They're so intensely weird.

Doctor D. 06-08-2005 11:57 AM

MC Paul Barman
MF Doom
Sebadoh
Masada

The Magic Numbers - The Magic Numbers

New album of the year, yo.

TalkingHead 06-08-2005 07:12 PM

MF Doom and Nas; Nastradoomus is great album

biografiend 06-08-2005 08:47 PM
Yup. Thanks to TalkingHead, I've got all their records.

Godbless Our Dead Marines is a good song. Very upbeat (well, half of it)... probably one of the most upbeat moments in ASMZ's music ever.

My favorite ASMZ song right now is probably Sow Some Lonesome Corner So Many Flowers Bloom.
Yes Yes. I think the 2 mainly acousic songs off HitS (Teddy Roosevelt and some other one) don't really do justice to A Silver Mount Zion Memorial Orchestra & Tra La La Band but God Bless Our Dead Marines and the others make up for it.

Sufjan Stevens - Illinois

YDload 06-08-2005 10:08 PM

The title track to Trail of Dead's "Source Tags and Codes." The way the song ends in that great big wall of sound is just perfect.

I've got loads of Pere Ubu mp3s if you need any.

Zappa 06-08-2005 10:30 PM

I have all of the Pere Ubu I want to hear, I think. Thanks for the offer.

Aereogramme - A Story in White

It's been a while since I've played this (properly, anyway). I need to fill in their more recent albums.

Been listening to the few Hot Snakes & Jawbox songs that I have on my pc, no albums yet though.

Recommendations for albums by these two bands?

Smackers 06-09-2005 04:47 PM

I've been listening to At the Drive-In a lot lately.

YDload 06-09-2005 11:17 PM

Tonight I had a long drive home on a dark, quiet highway. I put on Source Tags and Codes and it was beautiful. I drove slowly toward the end so I could hear that final song before getting home. Oh my.

Tapeworm 06-10-2005 12:18 AM

This place sucks now.

br3ad_man 06-10-2005 12:27 AM

That's because you're never here. The lack of Tangy is most unhelpful as well.

asymm 06-10-2005 01:46 AM

Hmmm...

White Stripes - Get Behind Me Satan
The Hold Steady - Separation Sunday
The Russian Futurists - Our Thickness
