Haha, did anyone know Lars Ulrich had a record label for a short while? that's classic. Anyway, I'm listening to Destruction at the moment. United By Hatred!

Also! how many ****ing EPs do Sodom have? strange, strange. That's a point! what is everyones favourite Thrash EP? (Expects 'Haunting The Chapel' to appear many times).

Death Cult!! (Though I haven't heard it)

ThrashMaster27 11-10-2004 03:23 AM

I had a nice chat today in JB HI-FI with the Vocalist/Guitarist from Contrive. We were talking about the Metal scene and Thrash inparticular....Nice bloke he is, but I'm jealous of all the gigs he's been to. Saw Overkill, Sepultura with Max, Anthrax with Belladonna....bastard! :p

Apocalyptic Raids 11-10-2004 03:41 AM

ravenous, i highly recomend Another Lesson In Violence, even if youve heard all the songs, they sound quite different than they do on Bonded... due to the guitar tuning and production (it sounds insanely heavier) and the banter between songs is priceless.

Plus it's Baloff.

LordDargon 11-10-2004 08:15 AM

that tribute is awesome Sensitive, thanks man.
I still didn't look at Flo's drum solo.

Corporal Compendia 11-10-2004 10:13 AM

Flo's drum solo isn't that special. I've seen him do it 3 or so times now... it's better to watch than hear.

God I haven't posted in this thread in a long time...

metal-militia 11-10-2004 11:23 AM

RavenousMetalist you definately need Persecution Mania and any old Destruction album/EP is worth buying anyway. :thumb:

LordDargon 11-10-2004 11:34 AM
Haha, I wish I could.

Anyways, anyone seen this yet?
http://www.voivodfan.com/media/index.php?q=f&f=%2FBlack_Cloud_-_Le_Medley-Montreal-Nov.9_2002
It's a thrash tribute from Canada. Teh band consists of of "ex-VOIVOD bassist Jean-Yves Thériault (a.k.a. Blacky), ex-OBLIVEON guitarist Pierre Rémillard, MARTYR guitarist Daniel Mongrain, CRYPTOPSY drummer Flo Mounier, GHOULUNATICS vocalist Patrick Mireault, and B.A.R.F. frontman Marc Vaillancourt" (Blabbermouth)

Check out teh site, it has live mp3s of them.
That's pretty darn good. Needs a lot of attention as it's not clear due to the fact it's live but there are some great covers there :thumb:

sensitiveorgan00 11-10-2004 12:27 PM

RevenousMetalist, I suggest you get Hell Awaits by Slayer. Trust me, it's better than Show No Mercy.

Corporal Compendia 11-10-2004 04:07 PM
RevenousMetalist, I suggest you get Hell Awaits by Slayer. Trust me, it's better than Show No Mercy.
All I can say to that is... No. (He should get Hell Awaits anyways though)
Also for him, I would suggest some things that I don't think anyone else will..,
SLAUGHTER - STRAPPADO!
Sacrifice - Torment in Fire
Razor - Violent Restitution
Tankard - The Morning After
Possessed - Seven Churches
Pestilence - Mallevs Maleficarvm
Nuclear Assault - Game Over

Buddy, pal, man, dude... you've got to get all of these! Actually, nevermind just you, we ALL should have these! Download 'em, buy 'em, whatever... just hear 'em.

FatalEnergy 11-11-2004 03:10 AM

Get some Overkill, I dont think anyone mentioned them

metdrummer 11-11-2004 04:20 AM

Yeah; Glad someone mentioned Morbid Saint... good band

Arise 11-11-2004 04:43 AM

Hmmm, speaking of which, who was first, Morbid Saint or Morbid Angel? Kinda similar names...

manuscriptreplica 11-11-2004 04:50 AM

Not sure, though I know Morbid Angel are better

metdrummer 11-11-2004 05:02 AM

i think... Morbid Angel was around earlier.... not sure though

Morbid Angel

GraveRobbersINC 11-11-2004 02:18 PM

Morbid Angel was in '83 Morbid Saint was in '86, I prefer Morbid Angel.

LordDargon 11-11-2004 02:46 PM

I prefer Morbid Saint.

1. for some reason, doesn't really appeal to me. I got bored with it.
2. Yeah \m/
3. \m/
4. haha, does Beer Metal ever get old?
5. \m/
6. ?
7. Again, not the best. IMO so don't flame me :p

Pestilence eh? I'll check them out...

And where are Infernal Majesty? I listen to those songs you gave me often, I can never find the rest of the album though

Corporal Compendia 11-11-2004 04:29 PM

1. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-URNS! Slaughter were riff kings... KINGS!

Yes, Pestilence... that was their one and only all out thrash album, after that they went straight death metal, then technical death metal more like... Cynic and Atheist. Everything they did was good, but I prefer the first 2 albums. Mallevs and Consuming Impulse.

http://themfinest.com/10-lil_jon_and_the_eastside_boyz-stop_****in_wit_me-mob.mp3

I really want you guys to listen to listen to that. Opinions?
I think it owns. :D

LordDargon 11-11-2004 04:55 PM

"I really want guy to listen to listen to that. Opinions?"

I have no idea what you just said, but I'll listen to it.

EDIT: If you want to listen to it you have to replace the **** in the link with the actual word, that being "fuck"

EDIT 2:

I had to stop it.

I almost hurled.

How could you corrupt one of the (un)holiest, most pure fu.cking METAL songs of all time with... RAP1?!?!!?!?!

*wanders off, in a dissillusioned trance, for several days before returning to reality*

ThrashMaster27 11-11-2004 05:25 PM

Public Enemy & Anthrax - Bring The Noise = Good when mixed.

Lil Jon & Slayer - Stop ****in' Wit Me = Terrible when mixed.

It's like mixing Jagermeister & Tonic and then going drinking Cider and Piss.

sensitiveorgan00 11-11-2004 05:54 PM

???? It's a thrash great

ThrashMaster27 11-11-2004 07:28 PM

Aye, very true this is. Game Over is classic and Dan Lilker is a ledge! See what happened when he left the first time...they went wank!

manuscriptreplica 11-11-2004 08:01 PM

And Hang the Pope's so cool

RavenousMetalist87 11-11-2004 08:38 PM

I just checked the list I compiled together of everyone's recommendations for expanding my thrash collection, and ****...just by looking at it, I can tell my total would end up more than $100, almost like $150...

However, that's why I should get a job and buy them slowly each at a time, and use the sites such as CDNOW and Amazon. I've bought CDs from Amazon and they're very reliable.

I'll just take it slow and easy when it comes to buying the new CDs. Don't hope to get all, but at least a majority of it. I'm still going to try to get some Dark Angel if I am lucky enough.
