I know what you guys mean. :-/

Are you staying on that permanently, or are you going to request a merge with Jacaranda, Jacaran, and this?
but my mom told me they think his aorta burst.
That sounds painful

One of the old football coaches at my high school died because he got a massive stroke during a game, but that was about six or seven years before I got there.
Anyone know the guy in my avatar?
A blind violinist?

Is this your 3rd account?

Rubber Soul is amazing; I went through a phase like that a couple weeks ago.

I listened to Derek Trucks- Joyful Noise today. Pretty good stuff.

Oh I'll just switch between names whenever I feel like it. I'm not into the merging thing.
A blind violinist?
Hotter!

So I guess one of the guys remodling my bathroom went to the very first reunion tour of the Who and he said that they had two drummers. Any info on who or why there were two, Lunch (I just figured you might know!)? He's seen so many bands its crazy, first Lollapalooza, Grateful Dead he said like 200 times, and he also said the 1 in 3 rule for their concerts was somewhat true. No Stones though :upset:
Is this your 3rd account?
Ya, I've got Jacaran and then Jacaranda.

I've been listening to The Queen is Dead 24/7, its such a perfect album but mostly because its a good pick me up album, my Grandma fell down just the other day and was there for like 12 hours... and she's in the hospital now, probably not going to make it. I hate when people you like die.

magicbus 01-10-2006 05:19 PM

It's John Cale.

Phallus Dei is the name of an Amon Duul II album. Amon Duul II is a German krautrock band.

Ding ding!

Well I guess 1 in 3 Dead concerts are supposed to be magical or something along those lines while the other two would usually end up being mediocre at best. I guess its sorta like, anything can happen at any given night, they could be great one night then the next few concerts be totally off. But for me going to two bad concerts would be just fine for that one magical one. But hell I'd love to see an off night with Jerry any way.

I was being sarcastic, but yes I do like them. I also like the translation into English "God's Cock" heh, immaturity is fun.

Gah MX is going really slow, hope its just not me?

Illmatic 01-10-2006 05:24 PM

Psh, we all know he picked that name because it has "Phallus" in it :p

edit: Oh my god, I was right

Sorry, it's harder to detect sarcasm on someone you don't know very well.

I'd like to be a fan, but I don't have any of their albums. I'd just about kill for Yeti.
Gah MX is going really slow, hope its just not me?
That sucks about your grandma.. Hopefully she'll be alright. And yes, MX is really slow for me too.

Ya the internet sucks for sarcasm :S.
I only have a few Vinyls I found at my friends house awhile back, he didn't want them so I took them, if I had a CD copy of it I'd gladly send out some of their albums along with the other German Psychedelic bands I found and thats the reason I don't like vinyls as much as CD's, can't get them on mp3 player or anything. Kraftwerks - Radio-Activity is quickly becoming one of my favorite albums. I have to get Autobahn soon.

/holds back urge to point out Illmatics name and why he chose it.

/finds out its corrupted somehow

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

TheDMV 01-10-2006 06:07 PM

PD: I like Abbey Road better. The fact that the so called greatest album ever has any weak tracks, much less two, three or even four is a huge let down.

JonG 01-10-2006 06:12 PM

Heh, someone today tried to sell me opium. Kind of random also. I don't know where he got it..

Anybody tried it?

Phallus Dei 01-10-2006 06:13 PM

Ya, I suppose "Shake Your Hips" can get a little boring after awhile.
:P

What tracks off of Sgt. Pep's do you consider weak? I consider one at that to be weak, and even then its a decent track.

I've never personally tried opium because I'm currently straight edge (!) but I remember a few times when hanging with some friends they've done it and seem to like it, they seem to get a good high off of it. I would imagine it would be expensive though.

I can't say that I enjoy:

Mr. Kite
She's Leaving home
Within you Without you
Fixing a hole

Some of them are ok but by absolutley no means in any genre "classic"

Hmm, I can't remember if I heard someone say salvia or opium gives you that dirty high. I'm awful curious though. I don't know how he got it. In the middle of winter in Iowa.

You just named 3 out of my top 5 favorite songs from Sgt. Peppers. Odd.

I saw that album for like twelve bucks the other day and almost bought it. But I didn't really have money to spend at the moment.

I'm not really as big a fan of the expirimental stuff on htis album. I'll give it another go though.

Illmatic:  I had no idea what was going on with that post.

BigTrav415 01-10-2006 07:37 PM

So, yesterday night I found out that Thelonius Monk was from my city. As in, the crappy little less-than-50,000 pop. town, Rocky Mount, NC. I really need to hear some of his stuff, he's supposed to a be an absolute piano virtuoso. If anyone has any, 'twould be nice to YSI ;)

Nope.

On the subject of opium: Opiates = bad

Has anyone else noticed that since we decided to try to cut back on drug talk that the topic has actually come up more often?

Can you imagine the type of responses we'd get if we changed the title to the **Official Drug Thread**

clown_phobia 01-10-2006 07:58 PM

Id prefer it as a classic rock thread
