I have to write a story for English about pretty much anything. Ideas people?
I have to write a story for English about pretty much anything. Ideas people?
"Timmy Discovers Pron"

"What Would Drive A Perfectly Sane Person To Post On An Internet Forum?"

"The Jews Started World War II"

Take your pick of topics.

DJ Ducksauce 11-03-2005 07:43 PM

Not really on a topic, but like a story. We have to use vocab from The Crucible though.

Mute Print 11-03-2005 07:43 PM

Write a crazy fictional story, including aliens, and a Coheed and Cambria concert.

/is horrible at story writing :p

Edit - I'm reading The Crucible too. I hate it.

DJ Ducksauce 11-03-2005 07:45 PM

I haven't started yet. I need to read the first 2 acts by tomorrow though. :(

Mute Print 11-03-2005 07:47 PM

That sucks. We're reading it as a class. Each day people choose the part they want to read, and it's read aloud. We've finished 3 acts so far, and it's pretty bad.

cbmartinez 11-03-2005 07:48 PM

The Crucible was alright. It was frustrating to read and that dude's argument at the end made no sense.

billiejoe84 11-03-2005 07:49 PM

"The Joys Of Trying To Post On MX When Completely Fucked?"

This is what I'm trying to do at the moment. I may just give up and resign myself to a book instead.

You guys.
The Crucible was alright. It was frustrating to read and that dude's argument at the end made no sense.
I don't like it, but I think it's because I don't like reading plays, and I hate having to read for school.

How's it going James?

cbmartinez 11-03-2005 07:50 PM

I'm reading The Great Gatsby. It's actually really good.

DJ Ducksauce 11-03-2005 07:52 PM

I have to read the Great Gatsby next year.

Brian: I hate school reading too.

billiejoe84 11-03-2005 07:53 PM
How's it going James?
I am really drunk.

Upsettingly, it's only 1.53am and I already wanna sleep. Clearly, stuff has gone a bit wrong at some point.

DJ Ducksauce 11-03-2005 07:55 PM

You get drunk quite often don't you James. :p

I think I'm gonna go with part of Brian's idea and do something with aliens in it.

BridgeToSolace 11-03-2005 07:56 PM
I don't like it, but I think it's because I don't like reading plays, and I hate having to read for school.

I love reading, but not for school, aye. We never read sci-fi-action stories :(

And I hate plays. Especially ones with poetic language.

Mute Print 11-03-2005 07:57 PM
I think I'm gonna go with part of Brian's idea and do something with aliens in it.
Haha, awesome. You can't go wrong with aliens. They can do whatever you want them to, because they don't exist. They have no limitations. :p
And I hate plays. Especially ones with poetic language.
So do I. Shakespeare especially.

DJ Ducksauce 11-03-2005 07:59 PM

Just before we had to read Antigone by Sophocles. It wasn't too bad, but it wasn't great either.

EDIT: Aliens need a name and a home planet.

BridgeToSolace 11-03-2005 08:01 PM

We read Eodipus (or however you spell it) and Antigone. Boring *** plays, if you ask me.

We're reading Beowulf now. It's so much cooler than Sopphacles' plays.
EDIT: Aliens need a name and a home planet.
Quaglu.

From the planet Ozarq

Make the planet be Cambria. You can't go wrong with band references either.

DJ Ducksauce 11-03-2005 08:08 PM
Make the planet be Cambria. You can't go wrong with band references either.
Alright.

Newo is a pretty good name I think. Except it'll be a guy.

James, I'll make a character named Linford in honor of you.

Then, there will be Wilhelm, Troy, Sadie, Morrissey, more later.

EDIT:
Jon: Quaglu can be in there too. The Ozarquians will be the rivals of the Cambrians.

EDIT2:
It will start off with "A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away..."

BridgeToSolace 11-03-2005 08:11 PM

This is bound to be a horrible, horrible story.

B 11-03-2005 08:13 PM

Lawl!

Creative writing has always been one of my strong points. Except, my stories are either really good. Or really suck. I have no in between.

DJ Ducksauce 11-03-2005 08:13 PM

Eh, its for English, and it's just to make us use the vocab, so it won't really matter.

DepthsOfDreams555 11-03-2005 08:15 PM

I got a cut on the inside of my nose and it hurts really bad. We are reading Julius Caesar right now and it is pretty bad.

B 11-03-2005 08:17 PM

Julius Caeser sucks. We're reading Macbeth. It's better than Julius Caeser but our teacher is ruining the whole thing. And whenever I try to point out the flaws in the story the teacher just says "People in those times weren't as critical as you"

DepthsOfDreams555 11-03-2005 08:18 PM

HAHA man that is pathetic. My teacher has been saying that those people were really critical. We don't read Macbeth until our senior year.

B 11-03-2005 08:21 PM

I am over analyzing the story, but Shakespheare is supposed to be the greatest play writer of all time, and I certainly do not agree because Macbeth alone has so many flaws and plot holes that to me it barely makes sense.
