Yeah. There is no skill in joining a ball and a piece of wood together and then running 40 metres. Any average person can do that.
i think it's exteremly retarted how there are 9 grown men sitting around not doing ****, just waiting for one fat *** to hit the ball. even when he does hit the ball only one guy has to do something, the rest still just wait.

at any given time there are a minimum of 5 guys doing absolutely nothing on the field.

goalieman92 10-15-2006 09:05 PM

The only thing that takes skill in football is throwing and kicking. Hockey-Everything takes skill.
;13448327']baseball players aren't even athletes. they're just a buch of steriod using alcoholics who lack to talent to play anything else.

the only player in baseball that requires any skill at all is the pitcher and the fags are always sitting every other game out b/c they're too big of a pansy to do their job which is to throw the damn ball, that's it.
or because they flew into buildings

...too soon?

everything in football takes skill, just like baseball. except for sitting on a bench
pitching absolutely rapes your arm
i realize that, but it's there freakin job. they get paid so much and they do sooo little.

it's like when a kicker in football misses a PAT. it's his job to kick a football and he can't make a 15 yard field goal. that's rediculous.

goalieman92 10-15-2006 09:07 PM

you were way too soon. you never should have posted that in the fist place

well, If he is kicking from the left side of the field and is a righty kicker then that is understandable, that angle is just too great to the wrong side

Electric Requiem 10-15-2006 09:09 PM

this discussion is moving really fast
The only thing that takes skill in football is throwing and kicking. Hockey-Everything takes skill.
not true. catching takes skill. defending a reciever takes skill. running the ball well takes skill, and being able to take down a large running back who's twice your size and running takes some skill.

Aaron 10-15-2006 09:10 PM

American football is stupid. It has no skill or stamina. No play goes for more than 2 minutes. Look at real football and you'll see uninterupted play for two 50 minute halves. American football is stupid.

Leprechauns1021 10-15-2006 09:10 PM

PAT are right down the middle though. there nothing wrong in missing a tough kick on occasion; it happens, but missing pat's is uncalled for.

LoneStarDrummer 10-15-2006 09:12 PM

soccer is by far the best sport of all time and i will accept no other alternative.

Aaron 10-15-2006 09:13 PM

Running into someone is not skillful.
Being run into is not skillful.

goalieman92 10-15-2006 09:13 PM

taking down a runningback doesn't take skill, a it requires is taking out the knees.

123.

LoneStarDrummer 10-15-2006 09:15 PM

have you ever tried to go head up with a guy running full speed whose twice your size? getting him down once isn't the hard part. try doing it the whole game without killing yourself in the process.

i never said it takes great skill, but it takes some skill non-the-less.

Electric Requiem 10-15-2006 09:15 PM

soccers not as manly as football or hockey

wait that's my comment. man, i'm always right aren't i?

Aaron 10-15-2006 09:17 PM

It's not really skill. It's technique. Once it's learned, that's it. Football [soccer] is constant skill. There are thousands of techniques and styles to use, and it's all based on the individual. American football is just a team working together doing basic actions. Football is much more sophisticated. That's why the world play it, and only the United States play American Football.

If by manly you mean manusexual.
soccers not as manly as football or hockey
[sarcasm] yeah. that's why it's not the sport with the highest injury rate and considered by some the be the most dangerous sport in the world. because it's such a tame sport where nobody get's roughed up. [/sarcasm]

Electric Requiem 10-15-2006 09:19 PM

american football has much more strategy then real football

Aaron 10-15-2006 09:19 PM

It's not called soccer!

Electric Requiem 10-15-2006 09:22 PM

I could compare lacrosse to a more violent version of real football

Josiah 10-15-2006 09:22 PM

Lacross is awesome as well..!

But yet your argument was based on the shear size. Not skill.

No, it does take skill to be good at football. But your skill will never overcome the sheer size needed.

Besides, american football is a wussy game - take everything you say, remove the pads and absurd stopping of the game every 30 seconds. Oh then you'd have rugby, now THAT is a brutal sport.

Aaron 10-15-2006 09:23 PM

Lacrosse is a real game! I got hospitalised playing that. Is great.

Electric Requiem 10-15-2006 09:24 PM

rugby is well awesome
