I don't mind them at all, I just have objections to people who [no matter the subject] are militant in their behaviours.
I have to admit, I can be "militant" when it comes to animal rights, but when I explained myself I made sure to say things like "I think" or "to me". I answered the question honestly, yet never tried to convince anyone to go vegan because thats like talking to a brick wall here.

As for rabbit-fur, I think its gross that you would own that.

RetiredAt21 11-07-2009 09:28 AM

That's what I thought. Rabbit fur in this day and age? I couldn't wear something that's cute like that.

whiteminority 11-07-2009 10:43 AM

I think my friend Charles would have a heart attack, he raises Rabbits as pets.

RetiredAt21 11-07-2009 11:23 AM

I didn't even know people made clothing from bunnies. :/

flesh 11-07-2009 11:35 AM

As far as people eating meat, if someone ever wanted any information or resources I would gladly talk to them about veganism, suggest a movie (earthlings) or books. Generally, I'm not going to force veganism down someone's throat if I see them eating a hamburger or steak. But when it comes to fur/leather/any animal clothing, I am going to push my opinions because to me thats just really ****ing cruel to take an animals life and flaunt it as fashion. Especially since there are dozens of alternatives to keep you warm or keep your pants from falling. I can understand that people need meat so that they won't starve to death, but seeing some ignorant bitch walk down her mcmansions with animal skin on her is nothing short of a crime to me.

Iluvatar 11-07-2009 11:46 AM

was McMansions a brilliant pun or just an accident

whiteminority 11-07-2009 11:56 AM

McMansion is a pejorative term used to describe a large house, particularly in the United States, that is rapidly constructed using modern labor-saving techniques in a manner reminiscent of food production at McDonald's fast food restaurants

Iluvatar 11-07-2009 11:57 AM

you learn something new every day

RouteOne 11-07-2009 12:20 PM

wait so better production techniques that make building something more cost effective is bad?

Oh and leather ist krieg you dirty punkers

cobert 11-07-2009 12:41 PM

He didn't say it was bad, he just said the type of person to owns a couple of big fur coats would live in a mcmansion.

RouteOne 11-07-2009 12:42 PM

I know people who own a few fur coats that are just upper-middle class and live in normal sized houses...

Iluvatar 11-07-2009 12:49 PM

generalizations

whiteminority 11-07-2009 01:01 PM

context, flesh lives in long beach dudes. the person he describes is more likely to be found out there since rich idiots flock to the west coast.

Iluvatar 11-07-2009 01:04 PM

i live like 5 minutes from palm beach and even though most of the places there are old money houses i understand the CONTEXT

i imagine it would be annoying

whiteminority 11-07-2009 01:05 PM

you gettin sassy

Iluvatar 11-07-2009 01:06 PM

girl you dont know nothin about sassy till you seen me get sassy mhmm

flesh 11-07-2009 01:28 PM

I wasn't really attacking people who live in certain areas but just making the point that its gross skinning an animal, selling that for $2000, and then flaunting it.

RouteOne 11-07-2009 01:31 PM

Maybe to you. But overall there is a surplus of rabbits, thats just the nature of their breeding, and using a relatively small portion to make a product isn't that big of a deal. If anything limiting the population of an overabundant species of animal is good.

flesh 11-07-2009 01:32 PM

If nature had its way there wouldn't be an overpopulated species.

RouteOne 11-07-2009 01:37 PM

Huh? its normal for certain species to overpopulate naturally even without civilization.

Iluvatar 11-07-2009 01:37 PM

we wouldnt be talking about this if nature had its way!

RouteOne 11-07-2009 01:44 PM

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm of the opinion that modern man is far too separated from the land and from nature as it currently stands. Modernity is out of step with the natural way of things.

Having to be on time for things, for example, is a fairly modern concept.

boundbytransience 11-07-2009 03:34 PM

Out of step WITH the WORLD.
