Can I get a link?

If I wrote a very long review on Sputnikmusic on the Concert for George... would you guys read it? :hopeful:
I would. Concert for George is an awesome cd. Clapton's solo in While My Guitar Gently Weeps leaves me:eek:

I need that DVD.

w00t clown_phobia finally got an avatar.

Watch out for that JPJ, he's a real tricky comedian.

This thread moves so much faster when it's just spam.

Playing My Guitar Gently Wheeps must have been so sad for him that night. It must have been one of the few times he played it with out looking over and seeing George.

I believe it was the only time it was ever played without them both.

3 characters, I think.

Just seeing the look on his face after he played the solo is depressing. It was a very emotional time for him.

robo2448 01-09-2006 08:45 PM

I saw a Clapton interview where he talked about how emotional and sad it was to play the song without George. It was a good interview. I'll search google for it. Or maybe I won't because I'm lazy.

Just imagine how sad it will be when Paul dies :(
Just imagine how sad it will be when Paul dies
I don't even want to imagine it.

Paul will live forever.

So will Neil Young.

So will Jeff Lynne.

So will the remaining 3 members of Led Zeppelin.

/ignorant to death

robo2448 01-09-2006 08:53 PM

What about Ringo? Poor Ringo. Nobody cares about him.

I didn't find the Eric Clapton interview I was talking about before, but I did find a pretty good George Harrison interview from the nineties- http://www.undercover.com.au/idol/georgeharrison.html

I like when he talks about GnR butchering Knockin' on Heaven's Door

PinkFreud 01-09-2006 08:53 PM

like when he pauses before the bridge on badge on the cream reunion dvd. sad stuff man.

jpj 01-09-2006 08:54 PM

My homeroom teacher died yesterday. He was the epitome of cool :upset:

We can pretend he was in a classic rock band.

I know thats whats hard about being fans of old music if your favorite musician hasn't already died all he has to do is turn around the bend and they will kick the bucket. For me it will be the most sad when Dylan goes, hes really the only one aside from the members of Floyd or Townsend and Clapton that really speak to me on a personal level that hasn't died yet.

And Paul died back in the 60's in a motercycle accident.

Ack, I forgot Dylan on my list, and Townshend!
I need to go out and catch Bob Dylan on his next tour so I can see him live before he passes
One of the main factors that convinced me to see Paul.

I can't imagine Bob Dylan dying. That will be a tragic day. I need to go out and catch Bob Dylan on his next tour so I can see him live before he passes. When Dylan dies there should be like a moment of silence for the whole world. Let's hope he can live a while longer.

clown_phobia 01-09-2006 09:05 PM

What do you guys think of Plastic Ono Band? I think that album is so good!

PinkFreud 01-09-2006 09:06 PM

yeah. and i need to see bb king. he's real close to dying.

BigTrav415 01-09-2006 09:06 PM

I think when Nick Mason dies I will retreat to my darkened room with a bottle of Jack and a vinyl of Piper At The Gates Of Dawn that I will play on repeat, over and over again...

blue3 01-09-2006 09:06 PM
yeah.
A hot girl died at my school a week ago. :upset:
Thats sad. The ratio of hot to fat girls just tipped in the favor of the bigguns. But luckily, a new future hottie is born everyday.

In other news, thats all I have to contribute at the moment.

robo2448 01-09-2006 09:08 PM
yeah. and i need to see bb king. he's real close to dying.
Seeing BB King would be sweet. Does he have diabetes? I think I heard that somewhere. That's really impressive that he's still not only alive, but still playing live at eighty years, especially if he has diabetes. I'm not sure where I heard that though, so I may be wrong about it.

He has a blues club in NYC but tickets are always ridiculously expensive.

Plastic Ono Band is great stuff.

PinkFreud 01-09-2006 09:09 PM

yeah's he's got a bad case of diabetes. he does commercials and what not.

BigTrav415 01-09-2006 09:09 PM

I've noticed that no one seems to care nearly as much about the loyal sidemen: Ringo, Mason, JPJ... but we'll really feel the sting when they just aren't there anymore.

MBS 01-09-2006 09:14 PM
JPJ
"JPJ is the most underrated musician evar!!!!111oneoneone"

Read through the Zeppelin thread in it's early stages. You will lose count of how many times you will read:

"OMG, PLANTS VOCALS R THE BEST
PAGE IS THE BEST AT GUITAR
JPJ IS THE MOST UNDERRATED MUSICIAN EVER
AND JOHN BONHAM IS A GOD!!! RIP"

BigTrav415 01-09-2006 09:19 PM

That's called n00bism. These guys haven't adjusted to the truth yet. Although yes, I still think JPJ isn't as well known as he should be. Not underrated, just not well-known.

I've read the early Zep thread, I know what you mean.
My homeroom teacher died yesterday. He was the epitome of cool
How?
What do you guys think of Plastic Ono Band? I think that album is so good!
Other than "Working Class Hero" I think it runs the gamut from boring to annoyingly self-indulgent to unlistenable
