DepthsOfDreams555 12-21-2006 07:11 PM

Yea I dunno if I'm going to take the ACT's.

BridgeToSolace 12-21-2006 07:12 PM

If you do bad on the SATs, do the ACTs.

Otherwise, don't bother.

DepthsOfDreams555 12-21-2006 07:12 PM

Yea that's what I'll prolly do, take the SAT's again and if I'm still not doing too good I'll take em.

cbmartinez 12-21-2006 07:15 PM

No, ACT are much harder than SATs. Don't believe anyone that says otherwise. Math for an hour straight, UGH.

BridgeToSolace 12-21-2006 07:16 PM

But then you don't have to take math again.

It's a measure of how much you've learned rather than how much you can learn.

Which is easier.

DepthsOfDreams555 12-21-2006 07:18 PM

I'm good at math though, so no biggie.

Surtr 12-21-2006 07:18 PM

Hey PP.

What's up?

DepthsOfDreams555 12-21-2006 07:20 PM

Hey Stew, not much how bout you?

BridgeToSolace 12-21-2006 07:20 PM

I'm in a standard math class, struggling to get a B-.

While I have a B/b+ in three accelerated classes.

Which is retarded. I'm doing worse in my standard classes than I am in my accelerated classes. :(

And Chris, honors US History is totally awesome. AP can't be THAT much worse.

What math class are you taking???

I wish I could take just honors US History, but you have to take it with honors English as a seminar class and I'm not going to do that.

cobert 12-21-2006 07:26 PM

We dont have any honors US history in my school.

AP US was incredible. I had two of the coolest teachers ever. I got a 5 on my exam. If you do well on the AP Exam, take the SAT II in US History. It's like the same format as the AP Exam but easier questions. I got a 760. After exams last year, me and my friend Bogus (yes, his last name is Bogus) organized the 1st Annual DBQ BBQ (Jon, I hope you get that).

DepthsOfDreams555 12-21-2006 07:26 PM

US History is tight.

Eliminator 12-21-2006 07:27 PM

i'm in all dumb classes

cbmartinez 12-21-2006 07:27 PM

Oh oops, you won't be taking the AP exam. Nevermind. Take the SAT II in US though, you'll do good if you dig history.

Standard Pre-calc/trig

Honors US history is the best class I've ever taken by far, but I have a fantastic teacher.

I'm in honors english too (I had near a hundred average in standard last year, so my teacher practically made me), but I don't know what a seminar class is. It's pretty easy, usually. Since I always leave things for the last second, I get swamped like once a term. Like Dec 6, when I had like two essays and a poem due on the same day. OUCH.

Seminar is just like honors english and US History but it's like in the same class you have it for two periods instead of one though. It's kind of retarded. Two teachers just one big class. I'm in an accelerated Pre calc class and I'm getting a A so ya but we just took our final today ehhh it was okay.

You spent more than half of your posts last year talking about how much you hated it and advising me never to take the class ever.

The only AP class I ever plan on taking is AP psychology. I don't really have the work ethic to do anything else. Hell, I didn't write a single note and I waited to read the information until the day before the test, but I still managed to get an 84 on my Native Americans test. That's pretty much how I do all my classes except for Math. And I don't do well in math.

And as someone who doesn't plan on taking any AP test, I don't know what Document Based Questions are.

Surtr 12-21-2006 07:31 PM

Zach: Nothing at all, leaving lol, I need sleep for tomorrow.

I love all my history classes, even if my teachers are idiots (Which they've all been). I usually do all this massive studying by myself and get all this info on something from books and then I'll write it on my tests and stuff and my teachers are like "No, that's wrong" and I'm like "No it's right, we just didn't learn about it in class" and they'll be like "Well then it's wrong, it's not fair for you to get extra marks when not everyone knows this" and then I'm like "Oh, I'll keep that in mind next time I fail a test"

ALL of my History teachers have been complete idiots, but I still LOVE the subject. I plan to become a teacher, and either History or Band/Music is what I plan to teach and maybe I'll save all the people like me in the future from having a shitty History teacher..That or I'll just add to the problem, either way I get paid to do what I like.

Anyways I'm out guys, Later.

cobert 12-21-2006 07:32 PM

I love history. But like I said, there isnt any honors history in my school so the teachers have to dumb it down for the retards, so I always read about stuff im interested in by myself.

Im taking the SAT's january 27th. Everyone I know that has taken them so far said they were easier than expected.

DepthsOfDreams555 12-21-2006 07:33 PM

That's so retarded, you've got some stupid teachers. Yea my teacher sucks pretty bad but she wouldn't do that.
I love history. But like I said, there isnt any honors history in my school so the teachers have to dumb it down for the retards, so I always read about stuff im interested in by myself.
123 except for the no honors class i just don't take it.

OOH, we have that. It's called humanities for us, though. And I think it's just one period, but I'm not sure. Senior class only.

I just got a 77 on a math quiz :(

It really sucks, because I almost never get conceptual **** wrong. I just forget a negative sign or don't make those "X is an element of" sign things. Or I do x=3 for a horizontal asymptote instead of y=3. YARGH.

cobert 12-21-2006 07:39 PM

Trig is fun.

I like school this year, all of my classes are interesting.

My school has the best history program ever. All of the junior history teachers are absolutely exceptional.

My class is amazing...we don't really learn anything in class. Like today we just discussed social classes and classism and class perceptions.

I love **** like that. Discussions are awesome.

This year sucks. Way harder than last year. I slept through sophomore year and got A's, but this year I haven't gotten an A in anything and
I'm doing way more work. Lame ****. And the only class I actually like as far as content is history :(

But Guitar III next semester will kick massive ***!

I know exactly what you mean, I do the exact same thing, it really pisses me off. We have only taken one test this quarter and I got like a 96 on it so that's why my grade is really holding up. Hopefully I'll pull off a A for the semester.

I love discussions too, thats why i like being in GATE, because we dont have many discussion in any other class. Except spanish, but those never have to do with the class, just someone will say something and the teacher will respond and the entire class gets into it, its funny.

We dont have guitar in our school.

BridgeToSolace 12-21-2006 07:52 PM

What's Gate?

Me and my buddy took guitar II freshman year, and then we took it again sophomore year, inspiring my guitar teacher to start guitar III, which I'll be in this year.

My school guitar teacher actually asked who I got outside lessons from, because I wanted to be able to do what I was doing :p Not that I'm good, he's just bad.

And next year he's going to start Guitar Workshop, which essentially getting credit for jamming with other guitarists and maybe writing music.

If he doesn't, I'll take an independent guitar study, which would be similar, but I'd probably do it by myself. Which is cool.

cobert 12-21-2006 07:57 PM

Thats awesome.

Some kid in my class that sucks at spanish decided to try and one-up everyone and take an independent spanish study, and I honestly dont see him doing very good.

And one of his best friends is some bitch that cheated her way into national honor society by taking a ton of easy classes and kissing ass to get good grades.

My guidance couselor told some girl that didnt make NHS that the only reason they picked who they did was because they thought they would need more help getting into college. The girl thought I should know this, and I loled a little bit at it.

BridgeToSolace 12-21-2006 07:59 PM

If I could get better grades by kissing my teacher's asses, I would totally do it.

Seriously.

DJ Ducksauce 12-21-2006 07:59 PM

I didn't get into NHS last year because of bad teacher reviews.

I guess I shouldn't have slept in more than half of my classes. :-\
