Lucas, here's my weird ass contest entry song, being that SoundClick isn't working.

The witch cackle and the howl really sell that one! Awesome.

I like it. at the sound effects.

ArcLite 03-30-2005 02:05 AM

Yeah, I couldn't make a black metal song without some cheese factor.
Yeah, I couldn't make a black metal song without some cheese factor.
From the way you talked about it I expected much worse. It had some cool moments in it.

ArcLite 03-30-2005 02:10 AM

My solo was lame, as they always are. That's what always pisses me off, I can never play a good solo.

Cain 03-30-2005 02:10 AM

What? You sound like we hated it or something. No way! That was great!

What do you use for drums?

ATM 03-30-2005 02:11 AM

Same here, I'm no good at improvising. I always end up playing the same thing.

ArcLite 03-30-2005 02:12 AM

For drums I use Fruity Loops with the Drumkit From Hell sound pack.

Solos are hard. They take a ton of practice. Not just technique-wise, but theory-wise too.

IBML 03-30-2005 02:13 AM

I mess around, find something that works, play it a bit with variations, then explore some more and hope I don't hit a sour note.

Can Fruity Loops play a MIDI file with one of its drumkits? Or do you have to do the stupid programming bull****?

ATM 03-30-2005 02:14 AM

Intruder? :amaze:

Cain 03-30-2005 02:15 AM
Cain: here is the song.. I'm sure you've heard it.

I have indeed. Guitar work is nice.

Cain 03-30-2005 02:15 AM
Intruder? :amaze:
Relax. :p

ATM 03-30-2005 02:16 AM

Would you guys be interested in hearing my sisters band?

Not directly, but you can import a MIDI file and then manually just match up all the MIDI hits with the real thing on FL. Would be a pain in the ass, but then again what isn't when it comes to making synth drums.

I would if they're good.

I have to go to bed soon, too, guys. :)

Do they make Fruity Loops with Macintosh compatibility?

ATM 03-30-2005 02:17 AM

I'm uploading it now. They are pretty good. They have this singer with an amazing voice.

Couldn't tell ya.

...And sleep is for lamers.

Cain 03-30-2005 02:19 AM

Know who's a severely underrated guitarist? The lead player for Sister Hazel. People are always talking about John Mayer channeling Hendrix, but that dude was like if Stevie Ray and Joe Satriani had an offspring. Awesome stuff, he did.

Wait until you hear the second singer come in.

EDIT: My sister is the bass player

Lucas=lame++ apparently. :(

And speaking of lame people with the name Lucas...despite my better instinct, I'm getting excited for Star Wars III. The first two were utter banalities, but this one actually looks good!

I love Sister Hazel, and you are correct. Did you see a preview for the new Star Wars then?

ATM 03-30-2005 02:24 AM

Anyone listen?

It reminds me very much of a cross between Led Zeppelin and a song that belongs in a rock musical. The second singer especially has that type of voice. Good stuff!

Yea they always get compared to the Mamas and the Papas. The second singer weighs about 400 pounds

I did. I'm real excited...

but not enough to avoid sleep. I have to wake up in about six hours for class. :-/ Good night everyone!

ATM 03-30-2005 02:27 AM

Night.

ArcLite 03-30-2005 02:28 AM

Have a good one, Lucas. Chris, I'll get to the song in just a minute.
