Good thing the gf wasn't there. I had to tell her all about it though :(

Heh, well of course. Basically we were all nice and wasted, and one of our friends had been in a room having sex with his gf for a few hours, so the idea comes up to go streaking...in the room they're having sex. So I was sober enough to know this is a bad idea, but...long story short, there were 7 of them and one of me. So I had my boxers remaining in my posession. And assurances I'd never have babies if I didn't do it with them all. So we streaked them mid-sex. There were many pics that no one not there that night better ever see :( And many non-nude girls watching us :(

billiejoe84 02-02-2006 10:32 PM

OK, the recent pictures of Vince terrify me slightly.

I wanna meet him in the flesh now, to confirm the hairyness.

On the plus side, my gf was like "Oh, well ok. I know you didn't do anything bad or cheat on me so whatever, it's all good. Have fun with your friends and bring back good stories." Me: :amaze:

bottlerocket 02-02-2006 10:45 PM

Back Stabbers Inc. and a few local bands...nothing huge, but it's a Friday night.

Vince: Ehh...I applied a few places. I don't want to seem like I'm bragging, but:

Yale
Harvard
BC
Tufts
Holy Cross
Clarkson

Clarkson is my safety school...they already offered me a full boat.

I won't hear from the other schools until the end of March or beginning of April, so we'll see, I guess...

I'm really tired. I'm gonna read some stuff for school then head to bed I think.

Night Guys.

bottlerocket 02-02-2006 10:50 PM

^ Eh...I guess...I dunno...It's not really up for me to say.

I really hate whenever someone asks me where I applied to college. In person, I usually say, "Eh, just a few places..." and then they're like "OH COME ON TELL ME" so I feel weird...:amaze:

It just adds more pressure to get into an already difficult list of schools, but we'll see, I guess. I've had an interview with a few of them and the Ivy League schools only interview students they're at least somewhat interested in. I had one with Harvard last month and my interview with Yale is tomorrow...they're taking me out to lunch, so I guess that's a good thing. :p

Nice. I'm on fullride here and to be honest, it's a better deal than what the Ivies were giving me. They only offered me like 4k per year :-\

Good luck with those schools though, very competitive. Every person I know at them was a fantastic candidate.

EDIT: Don't get your hopes toooo high up. The Ivies have a lot of money to toss around. I got flown out to visit and spend the weekend at em, and though I did get in...still wasn't enough to get me there :p

DJ Ducksauce 02-02-2006 10:53 PM

Wow, that sounds cool.

Only top notch school we have really here is Rice. I need to work on SAT if I want to go there, but I don't think I really do. I'm thinking UT or ATM for college. A school with a good med program.

/bye again

billiejoe84 02-02-2006 10:54 PM

I'm a happy man... All that worry of what university to go to is behind me.

My advice is to pick the place that seems like the nicest campus and city and so forth, from the ones that offer you a place. Most good universities aren't that different, thus you'll have the best times at whatever place seems nicest for you. This is why I chose York over Leeds, and I've never once regretted this decision.

bottlerocket 02-02-2006 10:54 PM

^ Where do you go, Vince?

Still, 4k a year from an Ivy is damn good...very damn good. Hell, I'd be content if I got on the waiting list. :p

OK, so that's a stretch...I've worked my *** of for 12 years or so and done just about every club and music activity I could...I even started a science club my sophomore year. Hopefully my persona and music experience will give me an edge, but if not, I mentioned that I was a mod on here (the largest online music forum in the world)...if that's not unique, I don't know what is.

Yeah...I grew up in Boston my whole life, so going to Harvard (Cambridge, MA, literally just outside Boston, if not in Boston) would be sweet since I grew up on the campus, basically...it's about 10 minutes from my house with no traffic (about 20 with traffic).

Tufts is in Medford and that's a really good school, too...I think it's one of the so-called Small Ivys, but I'm not 100% sure. It's about 25 minutes from my house...another really good school.

Eh, oh well...my grades are good (As), my SATs were good (2250), I do a bunch of extracurriculars, I have a lot of leadership positions, I'm a musician, and I have unique quirks...hopefully they'll see that. If they don't accept me, hey; I tried, you know? :D

-Gav

billiejoe84 02-02-2006 10:58 PM

Hey, who wants to hear my band's first finished (except vox) demo?

bottlerocket 02-02-2006 10:59 PM

^ I do!

Check out my joke band, The Giggly Cupcake Massacre:

I played guitar and did screaming vocals. My scream's gotten way better since recording that but it was a good joke. :thumb:

ASU (Arizona State)

Yeah, but I didn't have the $40k plus balance. Not by a longshot.

Nice, all that is very good stuff. I had about 5 clubs, Eagle Scout, Black Belt, and other stuff like that going for me. My GPA was a little low, but decent SAT/ACT scores. That and I wrote a kickass essay.

No vocals at this point... We recorded this last night in my room and I did a bit of mixing afterwards but I dunno if it's perfect. You'll notice a bit of sloppiness in the ska guitar in parts here - that's deliberate as it's the bits that go under the vocals and it sounds better if I play slightly off the offbeat. Just so you don't go thinking my guitar playing is crap...

Vocals will be done soon, along with our other 2 songs we're putting on the demo. And then, many shows.

bottlerocket 02-02-2006 11:04 PM

^ Yeah, my essay was pretty good, too...I talked about music's influence on my life and how bass impacted me...sounds lame but I was really happy with the essay I wrote, so whatever. :D

Congrats on the full ride, by the way...how's ASU treating you? What're you majoring in, if you don't mind my asking?

Hey, your screaming isn't bad. I've heard far worse. The recordings could be better quality, but you've done a decent job.

And we have a bassist... I don't think you can hear him that well though. Mixing is a bit hard on this computer as I have crappy speakers with no low-end.

Ah, good deal. Mine was the best topic ever...something like: What question would you add to this application? Ask and answer it. I asked who my rolemodel was and wrote about my dad :D

It's nice. Good weather and the program I'm in is pretty solid. Easy to keep the scholarship too. And I'm in the honor's program too and that has benefits too.

I'm an Electrical Engineer looking to go into Sound Engineering/Production after school.

bottlerocket 02-02-2006 11:11 PM

Thanks...my scream's gotten way better since then. The quality sucks, yeah, but we recorded everything (vocals included) with drum mics because we had nothing else and thought it would be funnier.

Guitar was all improv, too. I played (acoustic) guitar while screaming and my friend Jim who has no musical talent what so ever played keyboard (I wrote the intro riff on keyboard) and from there on it was 100% improv, minus the lyrics.

We're going to have a song that's one big breakdown...we're gonna build it up then break it down, but I'm gonna say right before we break it down:

Whoa whoa whoa whoa......wait..............someone call Triple A...WE'VE GOT A BREAKDOWN!

/breakdown
