Long story short Chad (Local Hacker) got morrissey's account (supermod) and then he jerked off to this, then caused havok (changed all new thread names, to "lol" in Alt/Indie and Pit. Closed lots of threads and in general just dicked around)
|
Yea, the admins are taking care of it.
|
Gotcha....
I would hate to see half the music I love go threadless |
Too bad he didn't delete the ACDC thread.
|
Yeah. IMO all thier stuff sounds the same exept for a few things off of Back In Black. Not a fan...
Sweet... just realized this is page 1800 of the CR thread. /random |
That would've been funny if he would've deleted the emo community thread.
|
That would be hilarious in a terrible way
What dosage would you need to take to get the full effect?
Depends what kind of effects you want. 100-200 is a good dosage for parties. Over 250 and you're starting to get more into a full out "trip." The other day I ate somewhere in the range of 250-300 seeds, and everything was swirling around, the lightbulbs turned into huge waterfalls, there were little goblin guys dancing on the ceiling etc...but some people eat like 700 seeds. I can't imagine what that would be like. If you don't smoke pot, it's more of a mental trip, the second you smoke pot...visuals become very strong. And the more pot you smoke, the more intense the visuals (from what I gather). Have you went to Erowid yet? If not, you might wanna go there. I love Dylan's mid-seventies albums, Blood on the Tracks and Desire are two of my favourite albums by him. But for some reason I absolutely hate Live '75. It's mostly just his singing voice, and what he did to most of the songs. Most people would say his 60's albums are better, but it all depends on what kind of music you are into I suppose. |
Edit- Pigs, have you read the liner notes that come with the cd? That's some good, informative stuff.
Yeah I love the Bootleg Series the liner notes have so much information. I also think they are Dylan's best work. I think he was FAR better live, and the bootleg series is the best representation of him live. There was a definite change in Dylans voice after his motercycle accident. I like his early voice better, though on some songs his latter voice I think works better. |
I don't really care for Desire other than a couple of tracks like Hurricane, but I love Blood on the Tracks. I almost bought a 3 CD set thing that had Freewheelin', The Times They Are A-Changin', and I think Another Side of Bob Dylan, but I opted for DP 22 because I have all those albums on mp3.
ok ok, i admit it, i'm a classic rock nut. i love led zeppelin, the beatles, the who, eric clapton, the doors, and so on. most of the bands i listen to broke up years before i was born. at 17, nearly every song on my playlist is older than me. but is it just my imagination, or is classic rock experiencing sort of a revival. i am running into an increasing number of classic rock fans my age. at my school (an all boys high school), the school newspaper took a poll of everyone's favorite genre and band. led zeppeling got 5th and the beatles got 6th, behind that rap crap. classic rock made up a large percent of ppls favorite genre. is this just by me, or are other ppl noticing this too?
This is the thread for general classic rock discussion.
Not sure if this was said but not reading through 53,000 posts. Todays music F U C K I N G BLOWS HUGE DONKEY DICK. Thats why the new rock radio stations are shuting down (at least in my area) so people are forced to listen to the classic rock stations. then they are saying "hey yea i really like this" or "damn i forgot how cool this was". That's why it's coming back. It's been hapening for 3 years now. Then you get crazy hybrid bands liek the vines or some sh!t. Don't particularly care for them but thats basicly where the new generation of music is headed. Crunchy punk |
Thats how it is here. Its so awsome how people like the classic rock instead of rap and pop rock and stuff like that.
|
Just stop talking.
|
I would rather not have classic rock come back. It was here, it went into decline, and faded away. I would rather have a new style of music come about rather than recycle something that has faded away.
|
Just stop talking.
Seconded. |
I love the great description in the last first-post-quoter's post, now I have a great image in my mind when I try to get to sleep tonight :)
When my dad was bringing me back to Rocky Mount tonight from Wilmington (2 1/2 hour drive), we had a great conversation about CR, we were talking about the Who touring this year and stuff. It was pretty cool. |
That's why it's coming back. It's been hapening for 3 years now.
Funny, my estimate would be that this thread is 2-3 years old. We've kind of moved past the first post in 53,000 replies, but welcome to the forums. CCR is the greatest driving music ever. |

CCR is the greatest driving music ever.
George Harrison is the best walking-through-the-woods music. Really, put on ATMP when you're hiking, it's like sex. |
Jaga Jazzist is the best for driving.

Actually, I should try that. It doesn't surprise me that George's music would be most enjoyable in a natural environment. A lot of his songs are so spiritual and about natural beauty and such that I'm sure listening to him hiking would be an awesome experience. I should try that sometime. |

Yes, you should. According to my religion, if I am able, I have to make a pilgrimage to Bron-Yr-Aur, so I plan to hike from the airport to there through Wales, so that should be pretty good traveling music for that. /wishful thinking |

i thought id listened to more than that. hmmm. |
Is John Entwistle's solo stuff good? I'd like to hear his stuff, he was a great bassist. What a tragedy.

Weekly charts:
1 Emerson, Lake & Palmer 34 2 King Crimson 25 3 George Harrison 19 4 H.P. Lovecraft 16 5 Gentle Giant 15 6 John Entwistle 12 7 Silver Apples 11 8 Phish 10 9 Love 9 10 Grateful Dead 8 For once I actually feel like this thing worked.
Is John Entwistle's solo stuff good? I'd like to hear his stuff, he was a great bassist. What a tragedy.
It's pretty solid overall. A guy with talent like his and a nose for good rock music is bound to make some good stuff. I got his 2-disc anthology with a lot of good material and some Who covers with great bass playing. I'd like Freud's opinion about it though. |
Which Crimson albums you been diggin, Lunch?
|
ItCotCK, as usual, but I recently bought Discipline and acquired Red.

I recently got a Who live album from their last tour with John, its great his solo in 5 15 is amazing. Its such a shame once they reach the age he did you think they got past the overdose :upset: And just wondering what religion are you that requires you to make a pilgrimage to Bron-Yr-Aur I've never heards of that. |
ITCOTCK is my favorite. I never really got into Discipline, or any of the 80's stuff for that matter.
I do like "Dinosaur", though. |

It's a little religion called Noneofyourgoddamnbusinessism  /total Dave Chapelle ripoff It also requires me to jaywalk across Abbey Road and visit Tommy's Holiday Camp. It's my faith, I'll totally report'd you to the NCAAP if you continue to discriminizzle against me. |
