You live in Scotland, though :p
In America, it's very different. I know that now. That's a definite no-go for me.
I may have been joking... I don't know though.:p |
Personally I'm glad chicks can't drink very much (in general). Not only are the drunk and easier to hook up with, but that also leaves more alcohol for me.
Can anybody give the safety of Limewire to me? Will it blow up my computer with viruses? (I use a Mac).
It resulted in my computer getting a trojan which led to my computer being reformated. The same thing just happened to my mum's laptop after my sister put Limewire on it; so yeah I personally don't recommend it. BitTorrent ftw. Aplologies for the lateness. |
I can't get Limewire off my computer.

In all seriousness, I'm not one to take advantage of the drunk girl at a party. But I am glad that they don't have to drink much of my beer to get drunk. |

That's soooo untrue. Most of the girls in my school drink like there was no tomorrow, and they drink only real stuff. Like Vodka. And Whisky. They make me feel like a toddler. :upset: Anyhow, it's not cool if it's their first time, because if they drink too much they get sad and start crying. And that's NOT cool at all. |
It's true around here. Even the "experienced" girls can't usually drink that much and often end up getting really wasted.
|
Some of the broads I know can out drink some of the bros I know, but usually it isn't like that.
|

What I wonder is why people who can't hold their alcohol insist on constantly getting smashed. I fucking hate dealing with people when they're drunk, so I generally avoid it.
|
I was Moronically drunk a couple of weeks ago with alot of girls who all seemed perfectly sober and collected.
It was wierd. This girl was drinking quite a bit of Vodka and was fine...My cider skills are lacking, it seems. |

They don't know their limits, so they never know that they can't hold it. |

I would think after the fourth hangover they would make the connection and start cutting back. |
All this talk of getting drunk reminded me of this commercial I heard on the radio the other day.
It was about how as a drunk driver you have rights and how drunk driving is not illegal and how you can get out of DUI's and such and all other negative things related to drunk driving. "Drinking and driving is not illegal. But if you get caught, they will arrest you. Know your rights!" |
I would think after the fourth hangover they would make the connection and start cutting back.
I would think more along the lines of spending the night throwing up in the bathroom would make them cut back.
Drunk driving
What I don't understand is why it's illegal for men to drive drunk but it's legal for women to drive. /sexist low-blow. |

Hey, you're talking the wrong person. |
I would think more along the lines of spending the night throwing up in the bathroom would make them cut back.
True. Waking up in pools of various things should be a clue. |

Yeah, 'twas a good night.

I might not be a very big guy, but I know how to handle alcohol! I was going out with my girlfriend, her brother and my little brother to see Saw II (out later than elsewhere in the world for some reason) but it was sold out, so we watched King Kong. Good, but not amazing, people exaggerated its greatness. |
so we watched King Kong. Good, but not amazing, people exaggerated its greatness.
I looked up the remake of King Kong on IMDB and apparently it's over three hours long! Three hours! Hasn't Peter Jackson ever heard of a freaking editor? I sat through one of the Lord of the Rings movies, no way in hell am I going to watch another three-hour, drawn-out, boring, "epic" directed by that clown. But as Dennis Miller would say, "That's just my opinion" |
Well, Sergio Leone is regarded as a great director, and his most famous film was over 4 hours.
Depends on what you're willing to sit through. |
I have a strict rule that no movie/sporting event/anything you have to sit and watch should last over two and a half hours unless it's mind-blowingly fantastic.

NP: Dawn Penn - Here Comes the Sun
American. |
American.
The sad truth is that ain't too far. Apparently, Hollywood wants to find ways to make movies a little shorter because they think audiences are too impatient to sit through 90 minutes anymore. |
American.
It takes something really good, like The Godfather, or a 15-inning baseball playoff game, to exceed two and a half hours and still be palatable. You gotta draw the line somewhere. |
I thought King Kong went by faster than LOTR, I'd still suggest seeing it.
|

That's the problem with a lot of people. It's a quick-fix society. I want gratification and I want it NOW! I'm not saying that the US is full of these people, but there's obviously a reason why you guys don't get the joy of Cricket. |
15-inning baseball playoff game, to exceed two and a half hours and still be palatable.
If you're talking about that game last year in the NLDS, as much as I love baseball, that was a chore to watch. So fucking tedious. /// And King Kong was very long, but it was hardly boring. It wasn't nearly as good as people made it out to be. Best movie of the year? My ass. But yeah, Jackson needs to stop with the over-the-top epic stuff he loves. |
I'm not saying that the US is full of these people, but there's obviously a reason why you guys don't get the joy of Cricket.
Well, that's simply because we don't drink nearly enough to ignore the fact that the game makes no sense at all :p
That's the problem with a lot of people. It's a quick-fix society. Why, the AL has more tradition? Or because most NL playoff series games are just plain uninteresting? |
Why, the AL has more tradition?
Or because most NL playoff series games are just plain uninteresting?
Well, no, it's because I root for an AL team. That, and the NL seems so...sterile. Cubs/Cardinals rivalry aside, there is nothing remotely exciting about it. I mean hell, look at the Cardinals. I hope they win the World Series next year, just to see how they celebrate--I think they'd line up single-file while Tony La Russa pours them each a glass of champagne. They are the most boring team in professional sports...I've never seen a team less excited about a season-saving home run (like Pujols had against Houston in the NLCS), and I've never seen a team look less enthuiastic about playing with each other. It kind of trickles down to the rest of the league. The Astros? Braves? Padres? Who really cares? What's their deal? There's this intense lassez-faire attitude surrounding the whole league. Cardinals fans would give Larry Walker a standing O after he grounded into a double play. The Braves don't have any fans, and any fans they do have have been driven into numb complacency by 15432 straight playoff appearances. Padres fans are too laid-back, probably because they know that they live in freaking San Diego. I don't know anything about the city of Houston and I'd like to keep it that way. Dodgers fans are notorious fair weather fans (erm, no offense). Mets fans are more sad than anything. And Wrigley Field is a fun place to watch a game, but the atmosphere isn't as electric as Fenway Park or Yankee Stadium. Other than Philadelphia (which lost its edge entirely when The Vet was torn down), not a single NL city can create an exciting atmosphere. |

Yankee Stadium to me has the best atmosphere, a shame they're not going to use it in a few years time. Fenway is great too, and it has a total old-school feeling; the small dense seats, the fans, just the way it looks. To me it seems that the only rivarlies worth paying attention to is Yanks-Sox and Dodgers-Giants, and it almost seems like the latter is dying. So yeah, I see what you mean. It's the same thing every year. |
Check out the birthday haul: :D

John Coltrane - A Love Supreme Pink Floyd - Animals
Good choices. Especially the bolded one. Penn State has the game, don't worry. But where the hell was Oregon? And god, I'm sooooooooo glad ND lost last night. |
Eh, yeah, it was long, but I don't mind long films. As long as it doesn't get boring, three hours is fine. But short and sweet can work as well.
Personally, I preferred LOTR. Peter Jackson likes to make his films very cheesy, it seems. I was sitting there ... Giant monkey, dinosaurs, now they're fighting each other! come on! What's next, giant spiders or giant insects? ... Yep. :p Certainly not the best of 2005, but one of the better. /late |
