Wow, you're a fucking idiot.

AIRIC 03-19-2006 12:02 PM

This isn't the guitar forum so it has nothing to do with guitar. But a big part of punk rock and it's scene is a lot of people have a strong sense of DIY and like to make and customize their own clothing to fit and advertise their music tastes/scene.
What do you think of my jacket!!!
Nice jacket, where did you get it?

DaveToopes 03-21-2006 08:23 PM

Or you could make one.
What do you think of my jacket!!!
It's cool. Do some stuff to it and show us again. Hehe.
Put patches/pins/studs/whatever you want, and rip the sleeves off if you want.

ViciousLove 03-21-2006 08:50 PM

Looks good.

DaveToopes 03-21-2006 08:51 PM

Only really bad part is the bottom of the B got filled in.

Sebek 03-21-2006 10:22 PM

My little brother just went on a (guided) DIY fit and made something like 6 or so abd shirts the other day. I'll post some pics whenever I get around to finding the camera.

I'm so proud :tear:
Only really bad part is the bottom of the B got filled in.
DaveToopes 03-22-2006 11:18 AM

Oh well, it still looks pretty good.

Sebek 03-22-2006 10:12 PM
abd or apb?
Neither, I just spelt it really, really bad. :p

Here's some pics of the shirts my little bro made. He just traced the logos and put them under the shirt, then traced the stencil with some fabric paint. Not too bad considering this is really the first he's done it, and that he's 12.

And the backpatch of the New York Dolls I "made" (cut out) of an old shirt. Not the best, but it get's the job done for now.

Anarcho Poser 03-23-2006 02:13 PM

They aren't too bad, but thet look very much like the work of a 12 year old at home. I like a somewhat DIY look, but I also like it to look a little professional, if you know what I mean.

DaveToopes 03-23-2006 02:19 PM

That New York Dolls patch is really good.

asdf 03-23-2006 04:43 PM

Good to see a 12 year old taking some initiative like that, though. I have a 14 year old friend that got half way through cutting a stencil and forgot about it. Now he wants me to make him shirts because he's too lazy.

And I have to sew patches onto another friend's pants/teach him how to sew. But hey, he's offering to pay me. I likely wont accept the money, because I do things for my friends out of the goodness of my heart.

DaveToopes 03-23-2006 05:35 PM

That's the spirit.

Sebek 03-23-2006 06:25 PM

Too lazy to DIY? Something about that is very wrong. But yeah I know what you mean Anarcho, a like a good balance myself.

I hope you guys realise when I said cut out I mean I literally took my shirt, cut it, and put it on the jacket.

DaveToopes 03-23-2006 07:03 PM

Oh. I didn't realize that's what you meant.

POINTLESS5448 03-23-2006 07:58 PM

its not a bad idea. its pretty much the same thing as a patch. i never would have thought to do that.

Sebek 03-23-2006 08:59 PM

I didn't want to do it at first, but realised it was my favorite shirt anyway and with all the holes developing in it it was better to salvage it while I could.

Daniel! 03-23-2006 09:06 PM

Over the past few days I've been practicing making stencils and I've made a Who t-shirt and a really sloppy V For Vendetta trash can (I loved the stencil but didn't have any blank t-shirts to put it on).

Nice, the lines are really clean and defined on the Who stencil.
