Is there still a chance of joining the MX Titans of Thrash clan? If anything, I listen to Thrash Metal bands such as Megadeth, Metallica (KEA, RTL, MOP, and a few exceptional tracks from AJFA), Testament, Anthrax, & a bit of Exodus, ect. :chug:
|
As far as I know, we always welcome anyone who wants to join.
All you have to do is just change your status to "MX Titans of Thrash (Insert Favorite Band Album Here, but the intials)." |
Heheh, no no, i think you miss understood my post, or i didnt explain myself properly. 1) I was trying to say you guys should special order CDs instead of waiting for them to magically show up in a music shop 2) music shops suck, and 3) I already have extreme aggression because i special ordered it :)
JB HI-FI is good for Thrash strangely enough. Coroner, Exodus, Testament, Overkill, Kreator, Sodom, Annihilator, Nuclear Assault, Destruction all at the Melbourne branch. Plus it's nice having Metal Mayhem in Melbourne aswell incase I wanna pick up something special. |
heh
i was just about to post that earlier, so you dont have a JB Hi-Fi near you JMet? |
who here lives in Australia?
|

Actually, I never (or rarely, anyway) buy anything from cd stores here. I always buy of the net, but nobody there has the album either |
Nope Vio-lence. There are stores here that stock though, I was kind of exagurating earlier, but i think my point stands, for the main part you have special order CDs as the vast majourity of stores dont stock much good metal.
And yep, Im an aussie. Oh, and for all Australians here, have you heard a band called Aeturnus Dominion? They are kind of Thrashy/Deathy/Other-y metal that played a set at the uni on Friday. Excellent stuff that is actually pretty original. I urge you all to pick up their demo in some form ask me to download it, or buy it from http://www.tripleu.org.au/freestuff.html . It's only like $10 and it's **** good. Awesome. |
Ahh, that's suck Arise. If you were in australia, i could help you out (by telling you to check out the link above) but im not familiar with overseas sites.
Oh, and you can download the two Aeturnus Dominion demos here: http://www.mp3.com.au/artist.asp?id=14684 |
I wsa gonna say something...
oh yeah, I need to get Extreme Agression :upset: |
wow! I didn't know the new slayer DVD was out! thanks for the tip! :thumb:
|
when i was in Australia the only music shop was Sanity or something like that. The only band that was thrash there was Metallica (old stuff). They didn't even have anything like Slayer or Anthrax.
Apart from Extreme Agression whats other good stuff to get by Kreator? |
Coma Of Souls, Pleasure To Kill, Violent Revolution are the next best three albums for me. Coma Of Souls is a definate.
Sanity is a wank music store, it's full of junk and high priced junk at that. |
what about Endless Pain, I suppose that might be better than Violent Revolution. Although I only have a couple of tracks off either album.
Anyways, Manu, slsk is being a bastard. I'll see if I can get on later and finish the Deicide, if not, I'll be on tommorrow, and you can keep yourself busy with tracks 1-6 for now |
Do you guys like Destruction? I saw "All Hell Breaks Loose" in teh used section of this other cd shop I walked to, that's like three miles away. Now, I didn't get it, since I have to control my impulsive buying behaviour. But, what are your opinions on this German thrash band? I only heard one song Eternal Devestation and man, I love teh guitar tone.
|
I have Sentence of Death, Infernal Overkill, Eternall Devastation and Mad Butcher. I love them all and i got them alltogether for £9:99  Ive heard a few of the newer songs and i like them too, but i prefer the older stuff.
|
I only have a couple tracks off Release From Agony, it sounds prety good but the production is poor

Get it. It's a pretty awesome CD song writing is still similar to their old material, but the production is a lot different. It kind of sounds like Exodus' new one if you have heard that. Gone is that raw, menacing tone, replaced with an entirely beefy one. It's good, i definitely wouldn't pass it up for used prices. |
Nice, but too bad I won't be going back for awhile. That town was like 3+ miles away from mine, and I had to walk. :D Sigh, I should've bought it. It was fairly cheap and still had teh wrapper on. :(
|
:O.... Walking is for suckers, but so is passing up cheap Destruction CDs. March straight down there and get it. :D
|
Haha, I wish I could.
Anyways, anyone seen this yet? http://www.voivodfan.com/media/index.php?q=f&f=%2FBlack_Cloud_-_Le_Medley-Montreal-Nov.9_2002 It's a thrash tribute from Canada. Teh band consists of of "ex-VOIVOD bassist Jean-Yves Thériault (a.k.a. Blacky), ex-OBLIVEON guitarist Pierre Rémillard, MARTYR guitarist Daniel Mongrain, CRYPTOPSY drummer Flo Mounier, GHOULUNATICS vocalist Patrick Mireault, and B.A.R.F. frontman Marc Vaillancourt" (Blabbermouth) Check out teh site, it has live mp3s of them. |
OMGZ FLO MOUNIER
I will check them out as soon as this Psycroptic is done (best aussie metal ever) |
It can't be better than D666.
|
Yes, yes they can and are. D666 are good, but I never really saw the over the top appeal to them.
Sithlord are great thrashers from Australia... and Hobbs' Angel of Death were a classic Aussie band. ****... I'm Dead are a great freakin' grind band from Australia... not that anyone was asking, but that's what comes off the top of my head when I think Australian metal. |
I guess the Kings of Thrash would be Slayer.. if one band had to take such a crown. Nobody influenced as much as they did.
|
*bump*
I need to start making a list of new Thrash CDs I must get... Anyone have any suggestions? |
East Coast thrash? West coast? German?
|
East Coast thrash? West coast? German?
Any thrash will do, but I definitely love extreme and German thrash. Here's my list so far of what I own: My thrash metal CD collection: Sepultura - Schizophrenia Sepultura - Arise Metallica - Kill 'Em All Metallica - Ride The Lightning Metallica - Master of Puppets Metallica - ...And Justice For All Testament - The Legacy Testament - The New Order Testament - Practice What You Preach Testament - Low Kreator - Terrible Certainty Kreator - Extreme Aggression Kreator - Coma of Souls Kreator - Violent Revolution Slayer - Reign In Blood Slayer - Seasons in The Abyss Slayer - Decade of Aggression : Live (2CD) Megadeth - Killing Is My Business...and Business is GOOD! Megadeth - Rust In Peace Megadeth - The System Has Failed Exodus - Bonded By Blood Exodus - Fabulous Disaster Exodus - Tempo of the ****ed Annihilator - Set The World on Fire Annihilator - In Command (Live 1989-1990) Annihilator - The Best of Annihilator Destruction - Metal Discharge Sodom - Code Red Sodom - One Night In Bangkok (2CD Live Set) I need to expand some more on: Sodom Destruction Slayer (still undecided on which album to get next) Megadeth (Not sure which album to get next) Exodus (Was aiming for Another Lesson In Violence) Annihilator (one more good CD would do the trick) I already know I want to get Morbid Visions and Beneath The Remains to fix the Sepultura collection, and I know I need some Possessed, Dark Angel, and more but I don't know where to actually go. I was given a list of artists by another fellow thrasher to go by. I'm thinking of getting some Exhorder if I can. Any help would be appreciated. Well, let me be the first to perscribe you some thrash! :D
Sodom: If you liked Code Red, M-16 is similar and overall a lot better. The live CD has a lot of tracks from that album so perhaps it isn't a NEED for the moment. I'd Probably suggest you get Agent Orange or Persecution Mania. Both Classic Sodom Thrash. Destruction: Get Infernal Overkill first. I say this because its widely accepted as their 'classic album' and it has been re-released with Sentance Of Death EP, my personal Favourite destruction Release. Also get Anti-Christ, it's fairly awesome. Slayer (still undecided on which album to get next): Get Show No Mercy. End Of Story. It is by far my most favourite Slayer CD. It sounds fairly speed metally, as it has lots of awesome leads throughout but also some primitive thrash riffs. Excellent album, and for 1983/84 it kicks mega-arse! Megadeth (Not sure which album to get next): Going against popular opinion, i'd say pick up So Far So Good... So What. It's my favourite release by the 'deth boys. Get Peace Sells but whos buying about 2 days later, as both are kind of similar, i just perfer SFSGSW more. They sound more like Killing... more than RIP, so if you liked the debut, you'll enjoy those ones more. Exodus (Was aiming for Another Lesson In Violence): Eh, i'd wait until i had the above albums, you pretty much have the worthwhile Exodus releases. Annihilator (one more good CD would do the trick): Same deal here. Get the Sodom, Destruction, Slayer and Megadeth first and then pick up Alice In Hell. Again, it's their classic album. AWesomeness :thumb: |
You need to think of Omnium Gatherum when think of Australia
|
RavenousMetalist87 you should maybe get some Death Angel, you will almost definately love it.
