I am 18. I didn't know you could go to a community college without a GED. That'd be nice.

Check around local community colleges, I'm pretty sure if you're 18, you don't need a diploma or GED. But always check their rules and such.

EDIT: These are the rules from my school:
A student may be admitted if he or she meets any one of the following conditions:

* has graduated from high school;
* is 18 years of age or older and no longer in high school;
* has passed the State of California Certificate of Proficiency Test or the General Educational Development Test (GED);
* Is an indentured apprentice taking a related training program;
* Is a high school student, in junior or senior year, who has the high school principal's approval to be enrolled.


May be different because you live in PA and I live in CA, but I'm sure community colleges follow similar rules.

I wanted to take the Proficency Exam so I could leave school early because I hated junior year so much. But now I'm glad I didn't because senior year was so fun and much better then my junior year.

But I think you will enjoy community college if you hated HS, Retired. The first time I got on campus and started doing stuff I fell in love with the way everything worked and how you could do everything on your own time and you could make things work around your schedule instead of trying to work around their schedule. You may have to take some lower English and Math classes to get up to par, but most colleges have assesseent tests, so you may score high enough to get into college level classes.

My first day sucked, i have lunch with all the seniors and juniors and ihave a class at the senior/junior campus. but im switching out of those and stay all my classes at the sophomore/freshman campus. i hate my school distract theres so stupid. they concoladated are schools and all it did was mess everything up.

You have seperate campuses for grade levels?

The school district in V-Town is horrible. The old superintendent screwed up and lost a bunch of money and they went broke. Then they got the state to loan them money and sent down a state supervisor, whos first act of business was giving himself a raise. He has since givne himself a second raise and is building a new building for the district. This is all while my old high school is over crowded because the school was planned as a middle school and is now the most populated school in the district. Before the superintendent screwed up and before the state supervisor came, there were plans to build a new school for Hogan, and then change the current one back into a middle school, but that went out the window fast.

Your school sucks. We had alot of extra money, so they fixed the stairs which were in very little disrepair, and the entire school went to the Bronx Zoo.

Then the superintendant died a few weeks ago, which sucks, because he was rad.

I start next Tuesday. I don't think I'll post as much, and by November when swimming starts up I might not post at all.

I knew Dustin would return :).

Oh and my band decided what we'd do at this years battle of the bands... not very punX though :).

But I love it, Its gonna be my first year there, But my friends tell me no one gives you dirty looks while they skank down the hall ways!

but seriously, they are, for the most part. i mean, superficially they tend to be agreeable, and i've met alot of kids here i like (most of whom aren't rich kids though, but a few are rich). i've yet to really meet a rich rich kid (as in like, "my father has his own jet and i drive a mercedes and i like playing polo") but there are plenty here.

i think 1% of kids listen to punk in my school. out of 3000. most are emo. some metal heads. and some wiggers. each year i go back to school kids get emo'er and emo'er. hair gets shaggier and shaggier. and pants get tighter and tighter. its hard finding kids to go to shows with. i usually bring my brother or beg my friends to join along. *sigh*....but there is some local punks that hang out at a mall nearby....but who wants to hang out at a mall...
