Is there something wrong with Let It Be? :upset:
gmoneyguy 01-07-2006 02:04 AM

Its acually been a while since I listened to rubber soul, and im not about to go to my car to get it.

Leper 01-07-2006 02:05 AM

Good night Mr. Benson:)

MBS 01-07-2006 02:10 AM

I'm off too. Later guys.

Leper 01-07-2006 02:17 AM

G'night MBS.

Run for Your Life is a good song. There are lots of songs like it that get over-shadowed on Beatles albums because the rest of the album is great.

clown_phobia 01-07-2006 02:23 AM

What instruments do you guys play? I play guitar

PinkFreud 01-07-2006 02:29 AM

drums and a little bit of guitar. and sax.

clown_phobia 01-07-2006 02:33 AM

you in a band?

Leper 01-07-2006 02:34 AM

A little bit of guitar. I'm really considering getting a drum kit though. My mom is doing everything in her power to oppose the idea.

PinkFreud 01-07-2006 02:44 AM
you in a band?
i was. not anymore, i quit and we went to college. i DID jam with magicbus a couple weeks ago though.

Leper 01-07-2006 02:49 AM

Do you and magicbus go to the same college?

JackG 01-07-2006 05:44 AM

I live for classic rock, it's just the vibe of it, ive got people at my school that say stuff like Floyd, Zeppelin, and some even dare to say Beatles. they say crap like they never released one good song. It's disgusting, like Snoop Dogg released tracks that can make a person fall in love with the band, and the music. I just feel that classic rock brings back the memories, and its a guide for the people of my generation ( teenager ) of what was happening in the music scene back then. I don't think that can be re-created again. I listen to bits of everything, Led Zeppelin, Floyd, The Who, Van Halen, CCR, Aerosmith ( ?- two minds about wether they're classic rock though ) and e.t.c. The scene today is just to commercial and its a media frenzy, why cant they re-create rock like it used to be
Well Thats me

What sucks now is that they are commercialising classic rock and devaluing it, that horrible techno version of Zeps 'The Immigrant Song' is crap. They did that to Elvis as well, and others that are too depressing to name.

They can't recreate rock like it used to be, thats what Jet and The Darkness tried to do in a way but look how divided opinions are over them guys. Nothing modern will capture the feelings you got in the era of classic rock, thats why it is so good. Remember theres nothing new but what you haven't discovered yet, and people will continue to discover this music amongst the pop ****e of today and be inspired to do their own thing.

I'm on a bit of a Doors kick recently after seeing the film :thumb:

JackG 01-07-2006 08:29 AM

The Doors are cool, nothing like a seriously messed up rock band

Broken Arrow 01-07-2006 10:03 AM

I play guitar, bass, and now mandolin (which I still am no good at). I also try to play harmonica.

EDIT-I also played trumpet for 4 years, but I quit.

robo2448 01-07-2006 10:27 AM

I play drums and harmonica. I'm also going to take up guitar very soon. In fact, I plan on going to guitar center this afternoon and hopefully order a guitar. I've got money to spend from Christmas and I don't really need any drum stuff and at my pace it would take me 20 years to save up for my own car, so I figured I may as well spend it on something now that I'll enjoy.

I sometimes fiddle around on piano too.

This Cream bootleg is ridiculous. 21 minute Spoonful

The quality is great for a bootleg too.

Broken Arrow 01-07-2006 10:43 AM

I never knew you played drums...

I also fiddle around on piano, but I dont really accomplish much. I can only play things like "Let it Be", "Imagine" and "Helpless". Pretty easy stuff.

n00bguitarist 01-07-2006 10:46 AM

Yellow Submarine is an awesome song. Not my favorite, but awesome nonetheless.

Lunch 01-07-2006 10:52 AM

JPJ: I have DP 22, it's pretty awesome. Great raw Dead.

The GD Movie Soundtrack is a really outstanding set, on a similar note. I found it used for around $20 which was completely worth it.

Mein bass 01-07-2006 10:53 AM

I play bass, drums and electric organ-ala doors inspired.

Right now im rocking out to Hendrix doing the star spangled banner.
Man that guy was crazy.

HazMan 01-07-2006 01:06 PM
The Doors are cool, nothing like a seriously messed up rock band
Yeah i think they are amazing. Their guitarist often plays the strangest riffs as well. Flamenco influenced or something.
